I have the mech touching the frame now, but there is still 9mm between the downtube and mech cage, which is too much

Do road mechs have the same cable pull ratio as mtbs? (8speed and 10speed)

it was fine in the back garden, but a different story riding it, it wouldn’t drop down

just fitted an old xt mech, it seems to be fine now.
Itching to get on it now, its not raining…

that mech doesnt look like I can modify it.
The chain line looks pretty good though
May be able to fit a spacer in if I had one
Meanwhile I have another mech I can try

I was told potassium was best for cramp, so now I use Low sodium salt, which is half potassium.I put salt in everything
Butrecently I was told its Magnesium thats best,so the tablets are about 470mg a day.
I was getting cramps all over, riding dirtbikes, and swimming.
Worst thing was jumping in the pool, after a really hard days ride, I had to pull my self out of the water and lie there in pain
And for foot/leg cramp you can put your feet in a bowl of Epsom salts, so the magnesium gets absorbed through your skin

you need to rent a dirtbike to really get off the beaten track
The place/s is changing fast, with all the dams, new roads and chinese finding it easier to travel,if you want to go, go now
I find the food really bad outside the cities/tour places, especially as a vegetarian
You can see bushmeat in the local markets- leopard cat, giant flying squirrel, bamboo rats, bats, small birds, civet, but it is rare to see wildlife in the countryside, as its all been hunted
It was nice taking a boat up Nam Ou river from Luang Prabang, to Nong Khiaw/Muang Khua/Muang Noi.

Vang Vieng has quietened down a lot,now the happy shakes bars and swings are gone(soI’m told), cos there were so many accidents before. Not the party place it was.
Its a long way from Luang Prabang to Vientiane/Savannaket, maybe you can fly. Would keep you away from the Chinese drivers

Bangkok-siem reap, up to Laos border, 3000islands then around Tad Lao waterfall in South Laos, maybe doable in 3weeks.
Ypure right about Angkor Wat, but Bagan in Burma is better

I havent spent much time in the south but I’d like to.
Its still got a long way to go to be like Thailand
Chinese tourists are starting to arrive there, lots of new roads, and bad drivers.
What do you want to do there?
And how long will you have, travelling is slooow

Also some recent shooting, mainly of chinese dam employees,by “bandits”,so some areas are off-limits, basically the army is killing off some hmong.
But go now, see it before it is all cut down and carried off to china

or how about cambodia or BURMA?

    Sabaidee!
What do you want to know?
I’ve been there several times in the last few years, remote parts on a dirtbike.
If I dont know I can put you in touch with someone that does

Stans start at 50quid on CRC, I’m looking for a 20quid rim I can use with V brakes if need be
less than 500 grams and will take 2.2 tyres
    Pacenti look more expensive!

I have Sun singletrack and CR18 but one’s too heavy and other’s too weak

    what are the alternatives then?
the 519 was a great rim for what I want, can I get the same size, quality etc for less now?

I was kind of assuming that new technology would have got to the lower ranges by now , like the old/new xt/deore stuff

    yes,its like a number in a chainring

    umm..
I just unscrewed the cap using the lockout screw..
(which incidentally has 2turns of adjustabilty)
there is some springy thing in there
    I just need a 22mm spanner…

there is 06 stamped in a design by the disc mount
There was 46psi in the fork
with no air in it I can push them down to (only)about 50mm from full travel
the lever on one side is a lockout
    stanchions are 30mm
I guess there could be spacers etc inside to change travel?

I’ll have to open them up soon when I have the tool

I saw that site, but couldnt decide. great info, but pics are not so good
    Someone mentioned an adjuster inside
They look like marathon, Dj3, 22lo OR MZ PROLO, COULD BE ANYTHING
I had some xfly before, they had low air pressures and getting it right was important

I was told I had Ti Nitride on my Z1s, which were the 1st of the 150s, around 2003.
You’re probably right though, this is a cheap fork
Sorry about the pics, I can’t see them either. Theyre on dropbox. Maybe I need to resize them

I had acid reflux for many years until someone told me about omeprazole, and I have been taking one a day ever since(almost)
It’s been a wonder drug for me. But if I drink a lot and eat too much,or dont sleep, the reflux returns
I did stop last year, but then I got terribly bloated, and a doctor told me to keep on taking it,even though I had no reflux. I suspect lactose intolerance again.
Now the amount of reflux seems to depend on the amount of heavy exercise that I do

Thanx, SUM, didnt see that on the Verdone site, but it’s 5wt I want to know about.
Looks like it might be Torco 5w relabeled, but not sure, as the only pics I can find are too small to read the print

I think you’ll get through, but you get 2 weeks anyway if it fails iirc
split gaiters are REALLY fiddly, but it’s so much hassle to put anew one on otherwise.

I sympathise with you, and maybe it made the driver think-I’ll be a good boy now-but it could’ve been a tragedy for a less experienced rider. These idiots need to be shown that they’re in the wrong.

I got pushed into the curb by a bus driver last week in cambridge.seemed deliberate too.
So I scratched the bus up a bit with my bars and rode off.
I waited a bit to see if he was going to get out and do me, but he drove on, pointing at me
So I should report it really
Station rd and the driver wasn’t very white, at all

I either left it with someone I can trust, or sold the frame and have the parts somewhere, but I can’t find them.
    Somebody must’ve seen it?
guess I’ll have to put a reward out for it
