Yeah, it’s possible, if you download a programme called ‘YouTube downloader’ (YTD) it allows you to download from YouTube. You just put in the url and go from there. It’s completely safe, used it plenty.

In terms of music, ‘FLVTO’ seems to have the best quality

Or when you do install them, before you tighten it up with the bolt on the mech, hold the cable and cycle through the gears a good few times and that will stretch the cable in the same manner as actually using the gears.

Going for the obvious and will suggest hamsterley rather than chopwell, there’s the red routes, black route, downhill tracks and i think there’s some ‘off piste’ stuff

Although I’m not agreeing with the statement 100% by any stretch you do need to bear in mind that at the 2014 Downhill World Champs Jared Graves opted to ride his Yeti SB66 Carbon trail bike (the same as I rode XC!) and took it all the way to a silver medal.

Just to be ‘that guy’, it was the 2013 world champs, which was Pietermaritzburg in South Africa, it’s the most pedally track on the WC circuit, most of the racers used 29er AM bikes, Gwin and Brayton, for example, were on S works enduros or whatever they’re called. 2014 champs was at Hafjell of which everyone was on DH bikes

As above, up on sunday, very top of spooky woods had a decent bit of snow if you went off the track, fine on the main ridden line and a lot better once you got in the woods, sections further down didn’t have any on.

As for the road to the top car park, reopens on the 11th February, although the date had already been written over so may change again.

How big do you want them? I have one or 2 large ones

How does the V4 handle going down? through rough stuff and steep stuff? i imagine it wont take much getting used to but i’m not a smooth rider… You should see the rear rim on my DH bike!

    What size is that above?

    alpineharry

On one 456? or similar? I have one in the 18″ size. i’m 5ft10, i’m 19 and never fails to put a smile on my face! haha.

EDIT: However, they’re not £600, i’ve just realised i’ve just looked, if you can get one second hand it may be a better deal

    alpineharry

How’re they for sizing? I’m 5ft10 but only 19 so will probably grow a bit more. Stuck between a medium or a large. I also have quite an aggressive riding style as a result of riding downhill bikes for the past few years so hoping it’ll handle everything.

    I’m stuck between a V4 and a V3, persuade me..

TR500, polygon collosus DHX (not sure if they’re 650B) i have a 26″ one and they’re bloody fantastic! Saracen is a good shout but some parts i’d change straight away. New lapierre, won the 3 races it was used.

Going by your comment i think i’d best measure my inside leg (ooer) and hopefully have a comparison. I think a medium will suit better for manouverability after coming off a dh bike i’m used to low front ends and small(ish) frames.

The 2015 bikes comes with an x fusion shock but can’t see there being much difference between the 2.

V4, from what i have heard, isn’t as stiff as the V3 but V3 is heavier as a result of it being ‘burly’. Also main difference is the fork comes with the compression adjust as well as the rebound rahter than just rebound on the V3. The shop i work in deals with windwave so could get a damper easy enough, hopefully…

Yeah, the top tube is where my doubts come from, i’m only 19 so might still grow yet hopefully.

Have heard the V4’s are a bit more trail bikey but may very well be an option by the time i get round to ordering one if the V3 sells out.

“sample” – may be a bit different from the normal retail item in some way, hence the suspicion.

A lot of the time (IME) samples are just in specific sizes like Mediums or larges as opposed to being different to a ‘non sale’ item, don’t know how correct my information may be but it’s from my experience.

I can’t live without my torque wrench… one of those things you never realise how usefel they are until you buy one.

Also, pair of pedro’s tyre levers, only ever need one, can’t recall ever using 2 and had them numerous years!

Coming from a 19 year old… I passed a month or so after I was 18, insured since May and think it’s about 900 as an additional driver on my parents insurance with no claims protected (£800 + £100 ncp). From my experience id say you may be just as well off spending or putting some of the £400 from the insurance towards driving lessons instead. Driving with parents or other passengers will result in bad habits being picked up which won’t be ideal when it comes to the test.

Apologies but might just take this moment to advertise my downhill bike for sale. ;) It’s a polygon colossus DHX, it’s in the team colours with ‘sik mik’ written on and hutchinson etc. Best bike i have owned, hands down, handles everything and jumps well, just selling as i’m after something with less travel. Size medium, yours for 1400 but i am open to offers.

It’s hard to really find main differences between the two from what it seems, think either will do the job, just mainly using it for taking to work and other quick tasks as i have my laptop for word/ proper programmes and phone for on the go.

    cheers

Actually, now i think of it, my statement was a bit daft. I just see Asus as being more into the processor and computing side of thing than samsung. Although samsung make the processors for Apple products if i remember correctly.

Thanks for the feedback, it’s the 2012 model, so the 1st gen i believe.

Cougar – Just getting them second hand so about £10 within eachother off ebay.

I’m slightly leaning towards the Nexus mainly because of them being made by Asus which do processors and things as opposed to samsung just being another company like apple in some respects.

I have an iphone and an Asus laptop so wanting to see how others compare, in terms of specs they are pretty much the same.

Going to jump on the band wagon, annoys me when people say ‘to’ instead of ‘too’, you’re and your are others.. i’m quite finicky about this kind of thing too.

When people say ‘Alot’ instead of ‘A lot’

    I’ll be quiet now

Well, I’m assuming the OP isn’t mincing down a track like Fort William during the winter – as you shouldn’t be thinking about running SLX brakes for that.

I raced fort william using slx’s, twice infact, spent 2 months in france over summer riding for 4 or 5 hours pretty much everyday and never had a problem wit the slx’s in terms of fade or lack of power. I’m about 70kg when kitted too. However i reckon i will upgrade to zees when i have bought a few other things first.

Somewhere up near Lochinver i’d imagine is rather remote, lots of singletrack roads and things.

Can’t remember the place but there’s somewhere where we got a ferry to the Summer Isles, was out on the west coast North of Ullapool somewhere

When i cracked my myst it wasn’t on a weld, although it was just above the main pivot and weld. It looked an awful lot like the image above though.

Another plus one for Tignes or Val d’sere, both right next to each other really, i worked in Tignes for 6 weeks over summer and never really heard a bad thing about it, or had anything to fault it myself. Most people who stayed at the hotel were families, there’s loads of activities on the lake and are all free as mentioned, the lifts are all free and enough riding for a week or 2, i got a bit bored of the riding but i was at it everyday for 6 weeks + pretty much.
