I’ve ordered a couple pairs of maltese falcons too, hoping they turn up, doesn’t sound like they will judging by this thread and the other one regarding deliver.

Give him many a hug from me, we lost our dog last week at 16 and was heartbreaking, as I’m only 21 I grew up with her from a young age and was very upsetting to hear she’d passed. Hope all is well and that you make your last moments together special and memorable.

If you can I’d try an XL. I’m 5’10/11″ and ride a large mk3 nomad which feels a little bit small if anything

I had one (Bought in february so not sure if that qualifies as the ‘new’ model) that’s recently been sent away to be fixed after only about 10-15 rides or so. That includes a week in the alps but shouldn’t make a difference as seat would be lowered anyway. The seal around the stanchion (So to speak) has come out a bit so doesn’t work so well.

It does sound pretty good but from your opinions it sounds like you can do most of it on a standard lift pass anyway (get involved with all the goings on in town) and just ride what you want instead which is what i’ll probably end up doing and had done.

Do the trails get really busy or does it filter out a fair bit?

P-Jay, what dates are you there and where are you staying?

How heavy a rider are you? Hope rims might be a bit soft? I’ve got some on my nomad and i suppose i’m quite a hard rider but only weigh 70kg on a good day and i’ve already dented one after 7 or so rides.

When I had my downhill bikes I had various pairs of superstars, but always the 595 rims, not sure if they do those anymore. Other than that mavic 821’s etc seem to be quite popular.

    Commenting to theoretically bookmark.

Good find! There’s another one called ‘where’s the path’ which is pretty good for route planning etc, OS one side, satellite view on the other

I believe you can stay in the car park for by the auction Mart on the road up to the Nevis range/ gondola area. From what I’ve heard it’s £5 to camp

Another vote for the TLD A1, definitely won’t be dissapointed, sizing is a little weird but quite adjustable to get a nice fit. I’m usually a medium (58cm) but found an XS/S fitted better than Medium/Large

I bought one a couple months ago, initially uncomfortable as needed breaking in but never had a problem after the first ride or two maybe

Looks like Silverfish are the distributor so would probably go through them if a warranty issue arises?

Pink and white is kind of a hard one so i’ve just gone with black everything else. Logos are white but it’s worked quite well. Pedals are red mallets but they’re near enough.

It’s silly expensive to hire a bike out there being the main downside, it’s the same price for a day to hire a bike than it is to take your bike on the plane for a week/ however long you’re going

New SLX stuff – m7000 is same as XT m8000, 94BCD for chainrings. BB is same as always, I don’t even know what BB i’m running on my nomad with the XT m8000 cranks

Try Soho bikes? They’re a stockist but not sure on what colours they have. Just checked, they have green ones, says they’ll need to order them in but shouldn’t be too long?

Commenting to sub but in general with camping pasta and something simple? Cheese? is usually a relatively easy thing to do. Depends how much space/ stuff you can carry

Thanks for all the suggestions! The campsite at Arisaig looks good and that area of coastline looks lovely. Will be spending a few days around that area, probably ride fort william on the monday and travel about a bit.

I’ve got an RSP one and have no complaints to far, was about £90. Have used it about 10 times or so so not too much just yet but happy enough as of current

Use an add on called ‘Ghostery’, it blocks trackers which could be behind you receiving targeted ads. I don’t really get ads on facebook because of using ghostery and ad blocker

There’s one just up from spean bridge, can’t remember the name but it’s pretty good, stayed there a couple of years ago.

It’ll be a lot more work but i’d recommend taking the top layer of soil off of whereever your track is going to be and digging down if you can. Will work out much better and berms will last longer in the long run. Good luck though

Have you looked at uberbike? I’ve a 30t N/W ring on my xt m8000’s, had about 10 rides or so on it now and had no issues with it so far.

The cycle jersey is usually a popular one, i’ve one from there and another from rsd sports. Both of good quality, had the former for 5 years now and the latter for about 3 years and they’re both doing well. Nice fit and comfortable too.

We usually do as far as I’m aware, we have a 10% discount code that we can stick in when we’re asked about BC membership. Price matching as mentioned above is pretty quick and easy too.

I’ve used specialized ones in the past and not had a problem with them. Managed to tubeless some specialized butchers with just a floor pump.

I tried some of the Ion K lite pads at a demo day, you don’t really notice them whilst riding and they have that D30 stuff in so they harden on impact but mouldable enough otherwise. I have ordered myself a pair as I’ve only got bigger ones which are awkward to pedal in otherwise.

I’d be up for a bolehills get together at some point, as long as it’s not chucking it down with rain it rides pretty well

    alpineharry

Ah okay, I know where you mean, the only suggestion I have is onboard unfortunately, Rock city in Hull is supposed to be good but obviously a fair drive. I’ll give you a message next time we go up bolehills, usually up on a wednesday or saturday

    alpineharry

There’s ‘onboard’ that’s on Queens Road, it’s alright for a couple hours, it has a foam pit too if that’s a selling point, there’s a good pump track up at charnock apparently. Bolehills is always good too, some good stuff there, go up quite regularly as it rides pretty well in all weathers. You could give me a shout if you fancy going up and meeting up there.
