I quite fancied a beagle until an earlier thread about them on here put me completely off them. But I’m sure all the dire warnings above don’t apply to your lovely looking pair. What could possibly go wrong?

That is awesome. I hope she gets a lot of use out of it.

Hi chabuddyj, how are you finding the bike? I’m looking at getting one (have had a 150mm travel ebike before). The thing I’m wondering is how is it for general XC riding? Would the 140 version be better or does it handle tight twisty trails with ease? Secondly, how do you find the sizing? Does it size big/small/just right?

    Thanks.

I find genuine callers will leave a message so I can call them back and I only answer non recognised numbers if I’m expecting a call or a delivery etc.

Albert: Cold, you bits of kid don’t know the meaning of the word. You should have been with me on the Russian convoys. One night it was so cold the flame on my lighter froze.

I’ve found disabling the 5ghz wifi and just running on 2.4ghz makes everything stable in our house.

Zero rides last year and very few the year before due to medical reasons. Hopefully that’s going to change later this year but I still call myself a mountain biker.

I’m currently recovering from heart surgery so my resolutions are easy.

    1. Ride my bike off road again (prob a few months away once my chest has healed)

    2. Exercise. Nothing major, just build up to walks and then hikes in The Lakes etc. (again prob a while away)

There was a thread on here a couple of days ago where the xbox one s was recommended over the x model as it was roughly half the price.

Recovering from a heart op 2 weeks ago so planning a nite in with bed around 9.30. Otherwise it would be a nite in with bed around 0:05.

I have a OnePlus 3 that has never let me down and is still going strong with regular software updates. I think we’re up to the OnePlus 6T now. Not sure what the latest version costs but I think you can get it or the previous model for around £400. On paper it’s a similar spec to the latest flagships.

Nice looking bike. I’ve never owned a cube but plan on getting an e-version of that or it’s slightly bigger brother when l’m able to ride again in a few months time and if all goes well switching to a regular stereo 140 towards the back end of the year once I’m able to ride under my own steam again. At least that’s my current plan.

I thought it was an excellent spin on a (probably) well known story. Surely a lot/most people have either read the book or seen one of the adaptations? On the iPlayer they’re calling it series 1 so I’m hoping there’s more in the pipeline.

I think you’ve got it. The scammer hopes you’ll transfer the refund (probably via Western Union or other unretractable method) before his cheque bounces.

Damn this thread. I’m currently confined to resting all day from my heart op for the next few weeks. I was looking at the One X and RDR2 but decided on price not to bother. Now you’re all saying the One S is great I’m back to wondering again. And my young nephew asked me to get one earlier today so we can play Fortnite together. The problem is how much use would it get once I’m back on my feet? Decisions decisions…

It happened to me. I got a saxophone rather than the item I wanted. The buyer just sorted out the collection and got each item swapped over. I think in my case the sellers husband had done the posting and got the parcels mixed up.

As long as the seller seems genuine and is trying to put things right I wouldn’t worry.

Thanks for the update. It sounds like there are some people on here who may be able to help. Like there was ever much doubt. Keep fighting and good luck with this next chapter in your amazing and inspiring story.

Hospital Santa brought me some Lynx yesterday morning as every patient gets a present (at least on the heart ward). I got out yesterday but was too tired to do anything much so we’re having our Christmas Day today. I’m expecting socks and probably pants too.

This happened to a friend. He soon found himself having the kids most weekends and at least his share of weekdays.

Clover: like your mum I’m in hospital recovering from a valve replacement operation. I’ve outstayed my my welcome by a few days as it’s only my wafarin level that they are struggling to get right and then I can go home so I’m ‘fitter’ than I should be at discharge. Still, I can’t imagine the thought of anything worse then going food shopping on the day I get out. I doubt I could even walk that far without a bit of a sit down every 5 minutes and I’m certainly not allowed to lift anything much heavier than a tin of beans. Good luck.

Just think of it as a regular Sunday. Go out on your bike or for a walk and get some nice food in for your evening meal. Choose Netflix or Amazon Prime etc. over regular telly.

Thanks for replies so far. I always wear knee and elbow pads so adding a shoulder/chest protector won’t be a problem. I guess a hard plastic cover moulder to my shape with a bit of neoprene for comfort should be fine. And as has been said above, how often have I actually landed on my chest?

A good point about discussing it’s location. I just assumed it had to go in a certain spot.

I’m hoping they make a thermal one for winter as I wouldn’t want my bike to get cold. Obviously I’d be expecting the price to be far higher for that version.

I’ve used a USB hard drive attached to my home router for simple file sharing. I then upgraded to a Synology box which has been rock solid. However for ease of backup I’ve recently switched to Google Drive so everything is backed up to the cloud and syncs between my home desktop PC and my laptop. I’ve set a similar system up for my SO which syncs between her PC and laptop. She just saves files/photos/whatever into her My Documents area and Google takes care of the rest.

I use Hikvision cameras in our fields to keep an eye on our sheep. They are POE (power over ethernet) so you just need to run some Cat-5 or Cat-6 network cable from your POE enabled router or POE enabled recorder. No need for an electrician.

I’ve built a small box with arcade joysticks and buttons. I’ve only run emulators on my laptop so far but plan to get up and running on Retropie soon as I’ve got 6 weeks of convalescing planned following an operation at the end of this month.

I might build a dedicated Defender box with the joystick & buttons as per the original layout.

But after the boss facing the accusations was contacted for comment by the paper in July, he and a number of his senior staff applied for an injunction to stop the details being published.

So if the paper hadn’t contacted him for comment could they have just published the story?

Hopefully you’ve selected the ‘use eBay global shipping’ option. Then as rockhopper70 said, you post it to eBay in the UK and they send it on to your customer.
