When I was at school my best friend had it. We’re talking 20 years ago now but the description of your g/f’s problems/symptoms are almost exactly the same as he had. He was on various drugs including steroids as you’ve mentioned. He ended up having an operation, which sorted him out. I can’t remember the full details but I believe they removed the offending section. I’m sure Google will give you the full details. I imagine treatments and drugs have advanced a fair bit since then. Good luck to your g/f with getting it under control.

Have done both my wrists (though not at the same time thankfully). The first time was a clean break and it is 100%. The second one I really smashed up and have got less than 50% movement back after 2 years. It’s also still very painful when using it in certain ways (e.g. it’s very painful when pushing down on on long and steep descents but fine when pulling up like lifting a heavy suitcase).

My advice would be to take it slow and make sure you do all the physio exercises as often as you can. Don’t worry about the lack of movement or strength at the moment, as it will (hopefully) come back over the next few weeks/months.

In both my cases it was several months before I could ride again. You may also need to get over any fear you have when back on the bike. It took me a long time to get over it the first time but I was prepared the 2nd time. Good luck.

Just to let everyone know that I’m getting errors when importing the /sql file into MySQL. I’ve also tried to import it into MS SQL Express but am getting errors there too (as acjim has pointed out).

    Hi

If the sql file isn’t too big and the data isn’t sensitive then if you’re stuck you can email it to me and I’ll email it back to you in access format. My email is in my profile. It shouldn’t take long (unless you’re dealing with millions of records).

I’ve got one and love it. Mind you it does get me into a lot of trouble as it’s so confidence inspiring …

Another vote for Chris Ball and Dirtschool.

Emma at the hub (At Glentress) used to run coaching sessions (I had one with her a couple of years ago). She probably still does.

Hi. I was there taking pictures as my g/f was racing. Not many in the end as I had a camera malfunction. I’ll email you a link after the weekend once I’ve uploaded them as I got a few random riders and a few of the start lineup.

With or without flats I’d say yes.

Or see if you can get the lease increased. I’m sure I bought a flat once which had 997 years left to run.

I get the feeling that 8″ of travel would be a tad overkill?

I’ll take the XC bike (sorry it’s a full suss) and take my chances with stopping …

but it is the short-term reduction in pay that causes the problem

I think you’ll find that with two kids on the way, it’s not going to be a very short term that you’ll feel a reduction in pay. I estimate at least 18 years 😉

    Good luck.
