What does it say on your original auction about returns and who pays postage? On mine (and I sell quite a bit, though not bike parts) it says that returns are accepted (up to 14 days) but the buyer pays for return postage.

If someone returns an item then I’m only out the cost of posting it to them.

I’m on Vodafone and have a Vodafone Callsure box which routes my calls via my broadband. It means I have full signal in my house on my phone where without it I wouldn’t have any signal.

it was using the same SSID name for both 2.4Ghz and 5Ghz so the solution was to rename the SSID for one of the frequencies

I’ve done that a few days ago. Same problem.

You might like to try changing channels via the admin login, it could be interference

I haven’t tried that but there are no other houses in range of wifi.

Broadband connection time is showing as 12.5 hours so it is dropping out which makes me think it’s the BT router itself rather than a wifi problem.

Thanks for the replies so far. The problem with BT customer support is that the router is always working by the time I call them.

I do have a TP Link router with a WAN port so I’ll try using that as the wireless access point and use the BT router for Internet connection only.

    Today I have:
    – Cleaned spare room for MIL who arrives later today.
    – Posted out last customer parcel
    – Finished laying the floorboards in the bathroom
    – Put up a new curtain pole
    – Made sure the sheep have enough hay
    – Put the Christmas tree up (well it is Christmas tomorrow)
    – Given the ducks and chickens a pre Christmas treat
    – Sunk half a glass of port (while typing this)
    – Sunk half a glass of port instead of wrapping up presents.

I’m now (thanks to those two half glasses of port) in a Christmassy mood 😀

I’d recommend opendns. It’s easy to set up, it’s free and works very well IME.

Edit: Beaten to it by the post above.

The phone switches automatically to silent and vibrate when I’m in the office.

Thanks for the replies so far. I’m no Colin Hunt but I do find the default ring tones hard to hear/distinguish, hence the request.

I sort of cant help thinking that staying with bt was a better option for broadband.

I live fairly rural and have always stuck with BT. Before that we were with Demon Internet and weren’t getting anywhere.

In our last house BT were sending out 2 teams of engineers in Land Rovers and a cherry picker to replace the local telegraph pole (or what ever it’s called these days) as we couldn’t get broadband.

In our current house a BT engineer replaced 100m of wire running from our house to the lane to give us broadband. He climbed several poles to do this, cut back foliage from the tops of trees and called in a cherry picker for the last pole as he wasn’t allowed to climb that type.

Since then BT (Openreach) have upgraded our green cabinet and we’ve gone from 1.3m broadband to 34m infinity.

I’ve tried a lot of Android email programs and settled on K-9 as I have multiple mailboxes (all using IMAP) on multiple different platforms/servers and it seems the ‘nicest’ and ‘best’ for my use (although I think I still prefer the iOS email program).

I’ve got an X3 compact as my first android phone coming from iPhones. The hardware seems very good so far so another recommendation for a Sony X3 from me.

How short is the cut from the BaByliss mentioned up there ^^^ without the guard on?

I’m after very short but not completely bald.

Loved it. I think I read that there will be a 2nd series. Hope I’m right.

loved the pattern in the grass in the final shot. Very subtle.

I missed that. I’ll have to rewatch it. 😀

Thanks for the replies. I think I’ll go down the DIY route and get one of those power sweeping tools in bedmaker’s link above.

I’ll bear globalti’s suggestion in mind next time one of our chickens or ducks misbehaves but that would mean me climbing on the roof which I’m not keen to do 😆

When I say a season and half, we tend to use it from November to March/April about 3 or 4 times a week in the evenings for a few hours.

I wasn’t planning on going up onto the roof. Do I need to? I wasn’t planning on moving the stove, just sweep everything down into it.

It’s a 6″ flu that goes straight up (no bends).

We did exactly that. Humax box, Netflix & Chromecast. We don’t miss Sky although we were only on the basic Sky package.

Not exactly the same I know but I inject my sheep a couple of times a year without any training or guidance. After the first couple of times it gets easier and I’m sure I could inject a person if required.

However I’m not in my 80s and have good eye sight.

We have one, I forget which, about £45 if I remember correctly. I think it helps but not as much as some people say theirs does. We probably need to run our stove hotter to get more benefit from it.

How about starting a duck farm? I’ve got 15 two month old ducklings I can let you have to get you started. Good layers and tasty meat. This time next year you’ll be a millionare …

I’m interested in this too as we’d like to move our electricity meter about 60cm (house if that makes any difference). I didn’t realise it would be that expensive to gaffer tape a bit of extra cable in to move the meter*.

*That may not be exactly what’s involved.

I’ve had mine for a week now. I’m still getting used to Android coming from an iPhone but haven’t had the problem you describe. I try not to have the phone pressed up to my face when using it and try to use it on speaker phone when ever possible.

And I thought it was my new Android phone so it’s good to know it’s not just me. It started me reaching back towards the old iPhone …

The best camera is the one you have with you. Just make sure she/you will be bothered to take it out with you. Friends have done exactly what you’re planning (although it was for her 40th) and the only camera they ever use is their mobile phone while their dSLR sits at home as they can’t be bothered to take it out with them. A good small compact would have suited them much better and would be a big step up from their phone cameras.

I’m lucky in that I’ve only ever had the vision squiggles thing and no pain or headache. Always had them now and again from boyhood and like CountZero can wake up with them. Afterwards I feel a bit ‘washed out’ for the rest of the day but it doesn’t stop me from doing what I was doing even while I’m having the squiggles.

The neck strain mentioned by dannyh is interesting as I’ve not been able to pin point what brings it on. Next time it happens (yesterday was the last time) I’ll see if I can figure out if it could be physiological.

I’ve been using iOS phones for about 5 years but have just bought an Android phone. I’ll be unboxing it tomorrow and seeing how I get on.

I usually wake anywhere between 3am and 5am. After a couple of days of this I get an early night which helps to catch up. I’m lucky that I can usually fall asleep quickly. It’s the staying asleep that’s my problem.

don’t let it bother you, accept it for now.

    This +1.

I got mine with a super fast service but it involves going to a passport office. You can have it within a week (or sooner).

BT have just rolled out fibre to my local cabinet and I’ve ordered Infinity broadband. Should take my 1M speed up to 30M+ (fingers crossed).

I watched it when it fist aired and although I loved the music, style and weirdness I must admit to loosing track of the plot about half way through. I was still clueless after the final episode but perhaps that was part of the point. Hopefully there will be answers in the new series. Although I suspect not.
