We were riding at Ladybower today. Was a lovely unexpected treat to see them fly past.

I switched from BT Infinity to Vodafone about a year ago. No real problems. The cost is about half what I was paying with BT.

The only draw back is that you have to use the Vodafone router where BT will let you use any router you like. The Vodafone router seems better than the standard BT offering so no real issues unless you want to use your own.

No idea, but most apps and OBD-II connectors come with a warning that they don’t work on diesels. I’m not sure you could manually trigger the regen even if there was a button to do it, the engine would still have to be in the right rev range and throttle position?

When the mechanic did it the car did rev loudly for about an hour. It took about 20 minutes before the percentage on his screen showed that it had started the regen.

Does anyone know if these readers will allow me to run a dpf regen on my car?

I recently broke down and the mechanic plugged in his pricey looking Snap-On Tools touch-pad thing and did this do get it running again. Rather than have it happen again I’d like to be able to do it for myself. I know the car should do this itself once in a while but as it’s an automatic I find keeping the revs up on the motorway is difficult unless I remember to put it into manual mode.

She could be locked in a neighbour’s shed or garage by mistake. She’ll probably come back at the weekend when the shed or garage is opened again.

I switched from BT Infinity to Vodafone Superfast Broadband. Similar broadband service (FTTC) and speeds but half the price.

One thing to note is that you have to use the Vodafone router unlike BT where you can use which ever router you want.

If you won it today I’d wait until the morning before starting to worry. They are probably just out and may stay out all evening as it’s Saturday.

Many years ago I set up the following for a company whose MD insisted it couldn’t be shorter:

    firstname.surname@main-selling-brand-the-comapny-name-ltd.co.uk

Many years later they had me shorten it to just their company name without the ltd bit and without all the hyphens.

We’ve recently switched to Pedalcover after reading good reviews about them on here. Very easy to deal with.

I switched about a year ago. Speeds went from BT at 32M to Vodafone at 22M. However it’s crept back up over the year to around 33M at the moment. About half price compared to BT. Not found their customer any worse than BT.

I like his music he plays but I prefer to listen to Chris Moyles’ chatter 😳

However I’ll happily listen to Craig Charles while both the above are on holiday.

Either do what ghostlymachine says or else what woody74 says. I’ve got a set of BT Powerline extenders and they worked straight out of the box with my BT hub and also with my Vodafone hub when I switched ISP.

A Pedal Cover customer here after reading recommendations on here. £420 for unlimited buildings and contents including all our bikes. Darren is not your usual insurance call centre.

DPD gets my vote for being the best.

I’ve not had many problems with any of the others receiving goods but they just aren’t as slick as DPD. Also the others often just leave the parcel outside where DPD will leave it in my safe (and dry) place.

But black is the best colour. My pet hate is when crank arms come in anything but black.

Use a phrase such as ‘My fist pet was a dog called spot who died when he was 14’. Create a password ‘Mfpwadcswdwhw14!#’. Then stick a postit note on your screen with ‘first pet’ written on it. Simples 😉

As others have said, he’s probably locked in someone’s shed or garage. I’ve had cats go missing for a week and have also known friends cats do the same. They come back the following weekend or a few days later a bit thinner and so very, very happy to be home. It’s nothing that a couple of tins of tuna and a load of cuddles doesn’t put right.

I’ve got my fingers crossed for a happy outcome for you.

    I always lusted after an S-works enduro/epic

My XC bike is an ’04 S-Works Enduro 8) which is still going strong and as good as it ever was when I bought it in 2004. A bit like Triggers broom a lot of components have been upgraded but the frame, shock, forks and brakes are original

I recently bought an XPS from their outlet store. No problems or issues so far and it seemed like new when it arrived. It took me checking the outlet store twice a day for about 3 weeks until a machine with the spec I wanted turned up.

How much is the data worth? I’ve used CBL Data Recovery for work hard drives and they’ve always managed to recover the data even when the drive appears totally broken. Charges have usually been £500-£1000 (sometimes less). They will check your drive and then give you a no obligation quote. If you don’t want to go ahead they just return your drive. I haven’t used then for a couple of years but doubt their service has changed much.

I’ve got an external CISS (continous ink supply system) on my Epson ink jet and it costs me roughly £14 for 600ml of ink (100ml x 6 colours). Makes printing very cheap as the regular compatible cartridges (not genuine Epson) are about £16 each for 12ml of ink.

Broke both mine though not at the same time. One was very, very obvious the other just a bit sore and a bit swollen.

    Go get it checked out.

I passed the accident spot this morning at around 7am heading south/towards Manchester. The police had put up large screens around the accident area and the motorway was still closed northbound.

The news article says it happened around 3:30am. I doubt there was much traffic at that time so perhaps she thought it would be safe to cross to the hard shoulder and misjudged the speed that the HGV was travelling at?

I don’t know what I would do in a similar situation as panic may set in or I may just make a simple miscalculation or error of judgement.

Either way it’s tragic news and my thoughts are with her family and friends.

Just to update too, I used my new sj4000+wifi on a ski holiday back in March and am very impressed with the results. Although I don’t have anything else to compare it to the gyro image stabilisation works really well.

I live rural and have done in our last house too. My advise would be to go with BT initially as no one else will do as much to get you connected IME. Once you know youve got an OK phone line/fibre etc. then switch to a cheaper provider after the 12/18 months are up.

In our last place BT replaced a telegraph pole which involved 4x4s a cherry picker, lots of engineers etc. All for £20 per month.

In our current house the BT chap climbed several trees to cut back foliage and got a cherry picker in to replace 100M of cable between our house and the lane we live off. Took them all day.

We have lots of Skype calls to Chinese suppliers at work so I’d guess you’ll be fine. If not just ask on here about VPN links to the UK and run Skype through that.

I think it’s ford who do that..maybe Vauxhall. Bloody annoyingly awful

I’ve got an 11 plate Vauxhall which came with a DAB radio and it’s been great. You just turn the diall to scroll through the list of stations. No choosing a band first or anything.
