Very nice writeup. I’d be keen to read more. Keep it up.

29 years for me. I studied computing and I work in IT. I’m sure a lot/most/all of what I studied is obsolete now so I don’t think it matters that I can’t remember much of the course. It would be interesting to see what the current course content contains and compare it to what I studied all those years ago.

I’ve got a OnePlus 3. Best android phone I’ve had. For £329 I’d get another if I broke this one. Specs are compatible to iPhone 6/7 and to top end Android phone costing twice as much.

I’ve had similar along the lines of ‘left inside back porch’ with a photo of my delivery outside in the rain. When I’ve queried it I’ve been told that drivers only have a few options to choose from on their gadget and can’t be specific. I guess in the OPs case they didn’t have ‘chucked over a hedge further down the street’ as an option 😕

I had one for about 5 years and put 20k a year on the clock. No complaints apart from fuel economy (mine was a 2ltr petrol). Great for bikes and camping and great for use in snowy conditions. Mine was an 06 plate.

I mow the lawn, cut the hedges, strim back the bushes and keep the trees from taking over too much. My other half does the choosing, planting and weeding.

I’m planning to have a quick Google on this next week and dash off our policy by Thursdsay. Or is this another Y2K thing and should I be demanding additional target bonuses? 😉

We’ve had old cats on metacam and it’s like they’re several years younger as they start dashing about and behaving like kittens. No side effects that we’ve encountered.

I’ve got a Honda like the one linked to above. Still going strong after 4 years of neglect.

Same here. I often have conversations with people who seem to know who I am and all about me but I can’t place their name or face at all.

I can just get my medium sized 150mm travel bike with dropper post upside down in the back of my Astra estate. Although I think some of the sleeker estates look nicer I doubt it would fit.

Have you thought about an SUV type car as they tend to have way more height in the boot? I had a Honda crv and although the boot wasn’t any longer than an estate it had way more height.

Brilliant. I’ll re-watch the first two series in the run up to the third.

I’ve recently bought a set of Wahl Cordless Super Tapers after making the mistake of buying a cheap set of Wahls from the supermarket. I can’t comment on how long they last but they’re night and day compared to the cheap set and the best clippers I’ve ever had.

I’ve used k9 for a few years and used to recommend it but recently it seems to have stopped receiving emails. I’ve switched to Bluemail last week and so far it seems excellent.

I can sort you out with Vinyl lettering on 100% cotton in a choice of 20 colours. Just Google “Bad Zebedee” and you’ll find either my website (work in progress) or my eBay or Etsy site.

Legend: Thank you very much for your reply and info. That’s very interesting and certainly food for thought. That vRS comes with sat nav and DAB radio so it has everything I’d wan’t as standard at 3+47 at £280.58. I’d have to check on the additional miles penalty but it comes with tax included so a saving there. Certainly compatible to buying a 1 year old one so thanks again.

I’ve done some calcs and I don’t think leasing is for me but perhaps someone could confirm from the following.

From Lings Car website I can lease an Insignia Estate Elite Nav Auto for 3+23 payments of £485.22 = £12,615 plus additional mileage charge as I do about 15k miles per year.

I can buy a 1 year old same model car for about £16k. As there are 2 years left on the warranty I guess I get 2 years trouble free motoring so am only risking £3,400 after my 2nd year of ownership when the car is out of warranty? I normally keep cars until they are 6 years old.

Buying a 1 year old car seems far cheaper than leasing and changing car every 2 or 3 years in the same period. I’m not bothered about having a new car or the latest model.

Perhaps Vauxhall isn’t the best car to lease? I’m after an estate (or equivalent load size with back seats down) and it must be automatic. After that I’d like built in sat nav and dab radio. I’m not bothered about leather seats or performance but I do tow a trailer now and then so am steering clear of anything less than 1.6l engines.

I mowed the lawn mid week. Don’t think I’ll be getting a dry ride this weekend though. In fact I probably won’t get out for a ride at all.

We got ours from Wren and fitted it ourselves. Can’t remember exactly the discount but it was probably 1000% with their crazy pricing. Seemed a good deal after their multiple discounts and managers special deals. The quality seems good to me.

I had a Harmony 650 but I found it kept going into some kind of new user/setup mode where it kept asking me to press certain keys before it started working again. Has this been fixed? If so I might try one again.

Really they should choose to cancel the sale and pick the ‘item is out of stock or unavailable’ reason. They then get an option to refund the buyer via Paypal. The seller may be wanting to refund outside of eBay to keep his/her return/refund rate down but can always just issue the refund directly from their PayPal account.

We’ve got one of these[/url] in our kitchen for a best of both worlds solution. I think if we were on mains gas we’d have gone for an all gas hob though.

That Ventusky website must be broken as it’s not showing any snow around Preston and I’ve got my skis ready and waiting in the porch.

So I’ve had a letter from BT putting their prices up. Obviously I’m seeing this as an opportunity to kick them into touch early. Has anyone done similar?

I did this about 18 months ago and switched to Vodafone. Very similar service at less than half the price of BT.

I’ve been with them for about 18 months. No problems really. I had around 30M download with BT which has dropped to about 22M with Vodafone although it does creep up a bit and then back down again over time. You have to use the Vodafone supplied router seems at least as good as BT’s Homehub if not better. You can’t use your own router like you can with BT.

Brilliant news. I’ve alerted friends and family to this issue so hopefully it’ll help them not to fall for the same scam.

    Surely worth a Premier sub for 12 months… (-:

I left BT mid way through my contract due to them increasing their prices. The chap on the phone said I still had x months left before I could switch but backed down immediately when I said I wanted to leave due to their price increase.
