I’d still budget for a grand. There is playing games and then there is gaming.

I wouldn’t want to spend any serious gaming time whilst using the specs that have been posted up.

IMO a new build should be a PC that has the ability to last 4/5 years without further upgrading….unless you like the constant money pit that comes from wanting latest and greatest

FWIW, I have a 4 year old i5 2500k and a 780GTX….that doesn’t even play everything on ultra at 1440p. I’d love to see what your playing on Ultra in your Core2 machine Quirrel

Fallout 4 will require a monster graphics card to play at decent resolution…..I’d budget for a grand minimum

NUC’s are perfect for small desktop and media center but even the new I7 ones cant handle intense graphics (onboard gfx)

I’d look at building it yourself and overclockers.co.uk would be my first choice to look for hardware.

Form factor is your limit when building a gaming machine as decent graphics cards these days aren’t small. Also decent PSU required for any graphics card worth its salt….these will not fit in a ITX case

If you’re still in the area Rocketdog, get down to the Quay in Aberaeron and get yourself one of the honey ice creams they do…..very very fond memories of that stuff from the annual trips each year as a kid

    If I needed a 31.6 post I’d take a punt.

You may get on first name terms with Decathlon returns dept as an added bonus a year way from Btwin

Expected a better Harley Quinn from the delightful Margot Robbie but we’re missing one thing…Ben Affleck as Batman!! Really?

I built up two bikes with them in and both are suffering from what I would call ‘lever stiction’

The lever arm on these seem to be made of cheese and has worn down somewhat. The interface between the lever and ball bearing at the top isn’t great meaning after a while its harder to press the lever than it should. It appears to be wearing faster than my 6 year old KS i950 (which is still perfect with no maintenance apart from a cable change two years ago)

Also the remote lever itself doesn’t seem to have enough cable pull. I found to get the seat working up and down nice and fast, then you need very precise cable tension..something you don’t need on others.
Leaving the cable slightly too slack results in a very slow to operate seatpost. Too tight and it doesn’t lock (or can creep down slowly)

For the money, its a great bit of kit though.

I laughed lots and almost cried with the caravan racing. Very sad day IMO.

Brakes, steady on mate, its satirical TV meant to cause offence to as many demographics as possible…..its hardly going to cause anyone to go out and deliberately run someone over.

Bring on Gingernuts, cant wait to see what he has to do. I very much like him as a TV presenter, not so much his radio show but he’s always been wanting to do edgier TV than most, will force BBC’s hand about it but without needing to resort to violence to achieve this.

My garage landlord’s old bike had M952 XTR and couldn’t use a 36T due to B screw not being long enough, we put a longer one in and it bent the B screw hanger as the angle onto the mech hanger got too much for the B screw hanger to take.

How they have been rebuilt, some use grease, others use oil, thickness and quantity of lube on the pawls basically.

Surely if your wife is helping out, she would be the best person to approach this subject with the person who was responsible for group allocations.

IMO….get over it. Mollycoddling them at any age is bad but getting them moved groups due to a bit of emotional blackmail at home isn’t great.

See how the trip goes, if the reports coming back say there were major issues with any certain groups etc then it may be time to bring up the subject but I’d hazard a guess she’ll forget about it all when they arrive at the destination.

Never used an EZI Bleed on MTB’s but regularly use them on cars I work on. Makes the job super easy IMO

I did however use ‘Pagaent.exe'(sorry for geek content) for the first time a few weeks ago. Never knew it existed and now my remote logins are so much easier

Seeing as the poor old chap had 11 broken ribs that says to me its a frontal hit…..which means he saw the cyclist IMO

Are we sure the old bloke hadn’t stepped in front of cyclist in an attempt to slow him down?

    RIP for the old dude!

Severn Trent have come round and they say its ground water.

Everything has pressure tested ok including my repairs so its crack on with back filling and covering apparently.

To say I am relieved is an understatement.

The white poly is now the worry but as its only 8″ under what I’ve already dug out I might as well dig that out to my boundary to see whats going on.

Slight update, South Staffs water have told me where to go regarding their cold water supply pipe….get your own contractor in if you think there is an issue was the reply.

Severn Trent were concerned though and I am on a 12 hour period for engineer to come out. Who will be testing sewers and soil….as its such an old property the lady on the phone says she thinks it will be covered and if I’ve dug 2/3rd of it out then the rest shouldn’t be an issue for their team to sort out.

Scrap that, they will be there in 15 mins….sadly I’m at work but the old man is popping round to see them.

Hopefully an update very very soon!!!

Yes I wish to replace it all, like you say toofarwest, it makes sense to do it now rather than later when the block is down.

Indeed we do suffer from pressure loss occasionally during peak hours but its not usually a major issue and only a few seconds etc. Strange thing is, its not an old lead service pipe. I jest you not, it has 15mm white poly 8O No idea whats gone on, neither do next door which from where the pipe comes from.(it would appear anyway…more digging would be required to find exactly but all agree its likely to go straight under the fence to their property.)

Very concerned about the foundations to be fair, its emptied as frequent as I can but I doubt its enough.

I’ll give South Staffs a ring tomorrow and see if they can come out and test water/pipes…hopefully at least the leak can be found.

Thanks for the advice guys, problem shared and all that. :-)

I would love to be able to turn my own properties water off, sadly I can only do this at the stock cock inside the house. Which is useless as I know the leak isn’t after this but I can only get to the top of this as its semi sunk in the floor (A friend says this is normal in older properties due to stepping down into the bathroom, but it looks like mine has been screeded and tiled which has brough the level up a few inches)

There is a common feed to all the properties in my 1910 Terrace, was found out when a neighbour tried to get a water meter fitted a few years back, it was using an alarming rate of water and subsequently removed due to them working this out. Only street stop tap is for 7 properties so turning this off for a decent length of time isn’t going to happen…especially with some of my neighbours!

I do live on a hill so presume the water table isn’t that high as the rest of the valley goes another 30m down from my property. Railway at the bottom of the valley isn’t and doesn’t ever flood. (Not sure if that is relevant)

I’m not sure its a leak no, I have replaced soil, gully, and waste pipes with new shiny stuff and that doesn’t leak so I know what I’ve done is good……but there is still water.

Dirt at the ends of my repaired section appears dryer than what I’ve dug out so I presume that means no more leaks from soil pipe.

Have you spoke to Gnarly? They can be very accommodating at times with parts off bikes etc and they also support a local guy who buys and sells bikes and parts like they are going out of fashion. Check out Ross Readmans facebook page to see what he has about: Ross’s Rides[/url] (it might be invite only but can add you easily enough, be prepared to fill your timeline with it though as he is full on but a really nice guy whos heart is in the right place and has recently bought Steve Peats Bronson which I don’t think hes shut up about yet)

Sadly though most of the shops wont be stocking much of the really nice kit as its too expensive to keep in stock. they will all order next day.

I know its a bit out of the way but have you considered Two Wheels Only in Stourbridge….without doubt one of the best shops in the wider midlands area. They tend to stock a bit more.

It would depends what parts you are after as to who I would go and see.

What are you thinking of getting?

He did some work for me a few years a go now and cant fault what he did.
I’d tried myself but not being of the arty fairy type then I stood no chance. However his delicate little fingers created my logo without too much hassle and in very short time.

Reminds me I need to get it updated/changed a bit…oi Binners ya cant!!!

Blown away by using a pair yesterday at the Cannock Chase leisure lakes demo day. I wasn’t really convinced after just putting them on, yes everything was brighter but it wasn’t until I took them off you realise.

Not a massive glasses fan (especially expensive ones I can scratch and break often) but these are a gamechanger.

Well worth the small asking price for those SC specific tools. Wish I could get a full set of these for all the different type I change as blind bearing pullers are shit in comparison

Check what output voltage that shitty Chinese transformer is using. Then start there, I’d hazard a guess its no more than 12v so might be dead easy to use a fused spur from vehicle electrics.

2009 SC Blur LT2…had a few changes over its life but it rides so well I see little point in getting rid.

Still 26″, still straight steerer, jesus I only went tubeless after a spate of punctures last autumn.

Blue printed Ducati Weeksy……enjoy it while it lasts :D

As for the road, I’ve done some daylight MOT’s and I only ever require:

    Horn
    Number Plate
Reflector (on the centreline of the bike – so usually bottom middle on the plate)

Mirrors are optional (but advisable on a sportsbike, the Supermoto’s are different.)

I get to mess with a baby Panigale this year as my best mate who I spanner for is racing Ducati Tri Options Cup

No idea Jam Bo, I’ll have to twiddle the lever later to see if they still compress…and more importantly rise back up afterwards.

    Why Jambo?

I have two steps (never touch that dial though as I run 160mm all the time)

Cracking fork and waiting for the air spring to die as I have a coil replacement for it when it does

I’ve skipped from page 5, I got bored of reading self righteous drivers think they are correct in sitting in one lane not moving.

I always thought that roads get you from A-B in as little time as possible…hence me jumpin…ahem merging in later on.

Ken is so lucky, hope he comes back strong as I don’t want Dungey winning the championship.
