I was due to fly into Milan between 15-18th March for a couple days training but Flybe rang me yesterday to confirm that its been cancelled. No idea when it will be possible.

Don’t run the tank completely empty, the oil is a lube.

Use Castrol A747 for premix and you wont care about longevity when it smells so good!

The Aspen stuff sounds good though if you can leave in all the time and no varnishing occurs.

Budget wise this is without doubt the best out there, decent upgrade path to faster i5/i7 CPU’s and a decent gfx card that’ll easily handle 1080p gaming.. Get it NOW do not wait as that’s a blummin bargain for the spec

Hockey mate told me to do what he called toe dips.

Small step, enough for heels to not hit the floor (most staircases are ideal as you can hold on too) and your toes on the step. Go as low as you can and raise yourself back up.

Fully recommend trying it, its bloody murder

I was cleaning my carb yesterday on one of my bikes, foolish not to start it up afterwards and check settings.

10 mins of running and I was done. The smell of 2 stroke lasted a while longer on my clothes so all was good.

All day?? Either really shit mechanic or the bike has major issues. (or just a numpty)

Another vote for NOX. Use it almost daily for prototyping. Easy to setup, can use multiple instances if required and simple .APK installing.

Hankook RA28’s on my ’13 T5 have managed over 85k on two sets.
They came as standard and lasted 37k so for £160 fitted I had the same.

I wouldn’t confuse ‘out in the open air’ with ‘driving about lots’. Would need to know the role more but in general office hours are substituted by driving hours. I know which I prefer nowadays. Years ago it was bliss when the roads weren’t chocka!

I’ve come the other way, field engineer to office bod. Knowing exactly what time I start and finish is a huge bonus over tackling a 10am start that’s 4-5 hours away or dealing with a problematic site/customer and not leaving until 5/6pm with the drive home.

Sounds like it needs a service. The O ring at the bottom of the damper shaft has failed and the oil is now in your lowers. The clunk is the hydraulic lockout caused by the excess oil.

If they are old its a relatively easy job for the home mechanic rather.

I’m with Onzadog on this one, its the Quads and Glutes and Calves that are the issue for me.
With these skinny/fitted crap that’s about now its getting harder and harder to find ‘nice fitting’. If they fit my waist then usually the thigh area is pretty tight and don’t start me calf area. .

I will however bring up the fact the Mrs bought me some ‘stretchy’ jeans. Cue much laughter from me when she showed them to me……..after breaking them in (all jeans needs breaking in a little) they have become my #1 pair of jeans. They conform to her idea of fashion (my idea is ‘comfy’ hence jeans and hoody every day) but don’t feel like I’m wearing a pair 3 sizes too small.

Its highly likely I’ll be staying in Premier Inn at Lockyers Quay.

Looks like its MTB only so we’ll see what the weather is doing and decide from that. I like the idea of the coastal path.

Cheers guys fingers crossed for nice weather.

Thanks Jambo, just looked at what Yogi is and what their Tuesday night ride is like.

I’d rather not get into a big ride just after a route I could potter around.

Is riding the Coastal path frowned upon?

I was brought up on local milk from the dairy farm half a mile away, that or goats milk fresh from the udder, a neighbour brought round twice a week. The only thing creamier is that Gold top stuff.

We call skimmed milk white water in our house and ridicule whoever asks for it when offering beverages.

Or do we say ‘actually, this thing you want to do we as a society (or whatever) have decided is inappropriate for anyone to do regardless of their personal willingness to do it’?

There are many many more subjects at which we could thrown this debate and sadly all lose. It comes down to individual choice…end of!

Who are we to collectively decide the moral compass for a global population.

Just like the brolly dollys at Moto GP, all a bit 1970’s for my liking. Fair enough if they mixed it up with male & female eye candy but they don’t as far as I know?

Dani Pedrosa has been using ‘Brella Fella’s for a while now.

Hideous accident, hope he manages to get through this and make a full recovery. The car is a mess for a collision with a cyclist so it sounds like a fair bit of speed was involved.

Yes done the Ebay thing, its a way to get around the licensing side as they say they have supplied hardware so your OEM key works fine for whatever machine its first run with.

For £4 it was worth a punt and now have done 3 machines this way and all good so far, I have received no hardware through the post either

Great opener from KRoc. No surprise that Dungey and Musquin on the box too.

Shame for Chad, not sure why he pulled out and yes Dean rode well considering he’s been out for so long. Really want him to start getting some results.
Expected more from Cooper Webb but I’m sure he’ll get over A1 nerves.

The tyre rubs the chainstay yet still rotates freely.

One or the other not both .

Pedants the lot of you, I love this place.

It rubs slightly on the driveside chainstay but is able to do many rotations before the friction of tyre on chainstay bring the wheel to a stop.

I might open a bike shop…..with you lot as customers I’d be quids in selling new parts when its not required.

STW finest, at no point have I said she shouted obscenities whilst in the store. That was a phone call this morning after she had the bike back from LBS.

The inch I estimate is purely that, an estimation. The tyre rubs the chainstay yet still rotates freely.
Whilst young’un may well have been doin sick skids and jumping kerbs, it makes no difference as to how it occurred and what damage it did. He could have crashed I don’t know.

But £200 for new wheels compared to a £23 fix screams rip off shop. So in that respect, Specialized Concept Store Birmingham you are a disgrace.

Let’s hope they read this forum then, because so far nobody has actually complained to the shop…

She has done, albeit in a rant of obscenities.

Poddy, I know some wheels cant be brought back from buckling but a brand new bike at Christmas with a small deviation should be a no brainer.
If I’d come on here with video of said wheel (which I don’t have before you lot start) I reckon the majority would have said yeah that’ll be fine to true up.

PJM, finally gets the brand bashing. Sorry for being a simpleton but if you convey yourself as a brands shop….then you are that brand.

Due to this being STW and I’ve rang my friend.

She went with her son to Spesh at Fort Dunlop. Only fault she knew of was a slightly (yes slightly it still revolved ok) buckled rear wheel, deviation of wheel around an inch. Hence rubbing the chainstay.

She doesn’t know what type of member of staff. She went up to the counter with the whole bike and showed the man the problem. She asked how much to repair the fault. Blokey walked off with bike into the back and 5 mins came back with bike and said yes that will be £200 and we have to change both wheels. She didn’t bother asking why it was so much, said no thanks and walked off huffing and puffing about the price. Then I had the call.

So yes, quite rightly stated its mis-interpretation as she should have asked more questions. Even so, how can a slightly buckled rear wheel amount to needing both wheels changed for £200.

P.S. The LBS used were asked if the wheel was ok to repair and apparently they laughed at her as it was a minor buckle. So yes they are confident the repair is good enough and will last.

I stand by my brand bashing though regardless. Duty of care from brand should mean no matter what shop you go into franchise or not that you get the exact same level of service from all.

    Oooh I do STW. :D

Will be more diligent in future to obtain precise details before I bash a brand.

Whatever the case, whatever shop…..£200 to fix an issue another bike shop fixed for £23 amazes me.

As for not bashing the brand, it matters not if its a franchise or otherwise. If the brand didn’t expect a bashing then they shouldn’t accept the franchise.

Its like the emission scandal for VW, the whole brand is tainted but not every car is affected.

DrP…its nothing like buying a jacket. If he’d pringled the wheel so it doesn’t turn then maybe, but not for a slight buckle.

Do you replace wheels after buckling them?

    almightydutch
    Free Member

Yes they took it back to the store they bought it from, a Spesh store as its a Spesh hardrock. Not sure if concept store or not, they live in Coventry and didn’t ask if they went up to The Fort.

That wasn’t £200 for a new wheelset, that was for the current wheels to be fixed so I believe. Quite possibly they were talking of a new wheelset but it didn’t come across that way from my friend.
Like you say wwaswas, its telling you they don’t have the skills necessary to fix it.
