Grim little nation we live in, eh? Bit like a medieval theme park full of snobs and morons.

Had Lasek done about 7 years ago. The procedure is pretty full on and about the only thing going for it is that its quick.

I had a great result though and I’d recommend it.

Raising the rear tire pressure to the upper limit can help it break free.

I use this on the front.

    and this on the back

Considering ditching the HR altogether and running ardents front and back.

I live and ride in Spain full time, tried loads of tyres. These two are the best so far.

PS – you tube scans videos for embedded security codes in the MP3 audios.. theyll find you!!

    Its called AUDIOSWAP.

Load the vid to youtube then click audioswap button above it. This takes you to a library of music approved/liscenced for youtube.

Search by category, recommended or similar length to your video. Preview it… hit publish.. wait about 20 min and it overwrites the audio track with the music..

    hey presto legal music!!

The catch is you get those pop up ads.

    Here is an example

Most people find 30ishKM with 1,000m to 1,500m a good day in the hills.

The OP – Its a big ride, make sure you have a descent bail out option(s).

There is an enduro here called the Cortes 60.

    65KM with 2,500m.

Its tough going, the average punter does it in 6 hours. 1 quarter of the starters dont finish.

my mate in alp duez used to ride a cove shocker.
After I stayed on his back tire on a rented trek remedy he bought an orange five a SWEARS BY IT.
i take it you were catching him on singletrack, not proper DH? or is he just really slow? or were you riding some smooth DH?

the thought of someone on a 5 tailgating any good DH rider on a DH bike at say, Fort Bill, is quite funny. Unless the person on the 5 is called Mr Peat

The point I tried to make was for your average guy/gal you dont need a big bike because you might not ride it to its potential, it might even hold you back..

Yep. We’ve got solar hot water, with an oil backup system.

Dont know about all the stats but I think its great because the oil reserve now lasts for ages!!

Prior to installation 1,000L of oil could go in as little as 2 – 3 months.

My avids are bled with a syringe kit.

Get one of those and just syringe it in from the caliper end till it comes out at the lever syringe.

Maybe give it a 2nd bleed to be sure.

Other than whats been said, i.e get out and ride with them.

Eventually every rider plateau’s so you need to do focussed training to break out of a rut.

If you want to throw in a few sessions outside the rides and boost your turbo.

    Google Fartlek training.

If you can stomach the idea, find a local gym that does spinning classes and try a few of those.

I see a lot of nice bikes coming through All Mountain Venture[/url]

Specialised, rocky mountain, lapierre, trex, orange, scott, merida, cube, kona to name some off the top of my head.

The bike on my next to get list, and the nicest most functional/least gimmicky, most versatile bike IMO.

    Orange 5

Personally I’d go for the 5 AM for the riding here in Spain but there are several different build choices depending on what you want to do.

PS – Its possible you broke something inside the lever during the crash.

Hayes 9s are notorious for that but never heard of it with hope’s

    allmountainventure

Bleed it first. Sounds like air got in the line probably from the lever chamber.

If you want to test it for leaks afterward cable tie the lever to the handle bar so the whole thing is under pressure. Leave it overnight. Any leaks/problems and that tie will loosen, also inspect lever to caliper for leaks.

If in doubt take it to a trusted mechanic for a second opinion.

Congratulations and welcome to the sleepless world.

My missus did loads of relaxation / mind over matter stuff through the whole pregnancy. It really helped on the day… and with the whole pre labour nerves thing. so i’d recommend that.

Dont over do it though. Our daughter was nearly born in the car because the missus was “fine chilling at home”.

Naughty step didn’t work for me, my girl seemed to find it a nice bit of time out, even putting books to read on the step in advance.

Find out what they love more than anything and threaten to take it away.

Obviously if they call your bluff you have to go through with it.

After the first couple of hundred times just the mention of confiscating “it” should do the trick. Works anywhere, even if “it” is no where to be seen.

    Even works on adults.

“if you don’t pull your weight i’m going to give your mountain bike away while you’re sleeping!”

    good luck!!

Look past things down the trail, not at specific trail features.

    Stay loose.

Drop saddle an inch or two.

    Slow down a fraction.

I made a short film about riding responsibly and respecting nature. You can watch it here

I think some one already said it up before but the best way is to use logs or whatever to steer people off the rat runs.

Not sure about the 10 because I have the dakota 20.

What might be best is email Garmin with those same questions.

They are really good and will get back to you and suggest which models fit the bill.

    http://www.garmin.com/garmin/cms/home/support/supportcontact

Check Europe consumer tab, UK is right down the bottom.

Also ask them if it works with garmin connect

touchscreen not such a good idea for mountain biking – muddy gloves plus trying to select controls whilst the bike is moving – hard enough with a touch screen gps in the car.

Dont get much mud here to be fair.

    Dakota 20
You can customize the display and pretty much eliminate the need to push buttons on the fly, you can also change the size of and have fewer larger buttons for the ones you use on trail. and it also uses that swipe screen that some of the apple devices use..

Quick tap on the screen and you’re there. Easier than my old GPS that had buttons.

Advantage of the touch screen is exactly that, you can change it around to how it suits your need.

Definitely check it out. I use mine all the time and its great…

    Also well priced.
