Not had those issues with mine at all………

I am sure I remember a rest to factory settings process in the instructions – have you tried that?

Or do the up volume then 3 presses on the middle speaker button and re-connect the phone and the unit?

I have successfully connected several iphones / kodi box and ipads to mine – I think the sound is better through Airplay or the wifi if you have it though

The golf R is subject to some amazing deals periodically – I would keep an eye on the pistonheads “best leasing deals” thread and jump on the first deal that I thought was worthwhile from a company that I had heard of!

If you go second hand, unless you have a great source of loan capital I think you would spend a lot more 0 depending on mileage I have seen some very low lease costs around £260 per month

Worth going to the dealer with a specific offer to see if they can beat too!

I guess the size does limit the bass a bit.

Old school positioning of the unit can increase bass (put it in a corner).

I think the balance of the battery life etc its a good unit YVMMV

We used to poison our maths teachers plant at school with ink.

We were trying to get the flowers to turn different colours one year and went a bit far- it died!

(Not sure if ink is the best option but there is a strong STW tradition of only suggesting things you have experience of!)

    Glad you like it!

The black and copper one does look a bit funky!

Allopurinol is the drug to reduce uric acid, works well but can make an acute attack worse.

Typical advice from a diet perspective is

    Cherries
    Lots of water
reduce red meat / oily fish which can elevate uric acid.

Colchicine is great at reducing acute attacks, and can be taken as and when needed.

    Bluetooth / airplay or wifi

Apparently Bluetooth is not as good a quality as wifi / airplay – not had chance to check yet!

No it does away with all the leads.

I have hooked up my Minix box to it by Bluetooth and that worked well.

I don’t have a chromecast, would the wifi connection mean that a 3.5 mm input would not be needed?

I have hooked it up through wifi and Bluetooth, but it also works with airplay too!

    Hi Martin,

Do a search on bizango drop out or mech hanger on the forum.

I managed to bend mine and found that Halfords charge about £30 for one and BETD do one for £28 if I remember.

The BETD one came within a couple of days – Halfords needed a week to get one – from America I think.

The shape is quite unusual and I would guess that you only need the drive side part – keep the bolts as you don’t get new ones from BETD hope this helps!

I always liked one, used at work and play:

Celebrate success – don’t wait to get perfect.

Also its the early bird that gets the worm, but the second mouse that gets the cheese!

I’m sure groupon have a special offer on these courses – I though about doing one myself, but not sure about the value of them.

I think there may be a third way – loosen up the criteria and see what is on offer with the lease companies

Recently there have been some crazy deals – 520 msports for mid £200 per month

Mercedes are very good value through the lease companies

There is a good thread on Best lease car deals on the Pistonheads.com website – have a look and see what appeals?!

I had it mid March – 4 days and no sign of getting better – feeling mentally slow just like the OP

Eventually went to A&E and found my sats were less than 90 (should be 95-100) – I think this was the cause of the slowness I felt – the brain is very susceptible to low O2 levels

I was admitted and given 3 days of IV antibiotics for suspected pneumonia. Took a good 2-3 weeks to feel properly better after that.

My experience of the forks is that they are OK – no more no less

They don’t have the response of the fox forks on the orange – but I guess the fact that it is a hardtail mean you are going to feel more impacts and buzz anyway.

Perhaps when they wear out an upgrade would be helpful from a feel perspective and potentially to lose some weight too?

I’ve got the older version and it is a really good bike.

I think the weight is the only thing that could be improved (it probably weighs as much as my Orange 5)

The deore parts do seem to wear out a little more quickly than XT, but that might be due to running the voodoo over winter mostly

The police run very high pressures in the tyres of their skid pan cars to reduce grip.

a, They seem to last quite long like that
b, You may notice a little less tendency to spin the wheels when setting off.

If you look around there are some amazing deals on the Golf R (and estate)

    Around £200 per month!

Have a look on Pistonheads, there is a best leasing deals thread under general gassing

There are some short term lease specialists who might be able to help.

I would also phone up a couple of car hire people – chains and local ones to see whet they would do for the period – with only one pick up and drop off / cleaning they may well do a good deal.

Nice sentiment – more cycle friendly paths and joining them up is ace

However the website seems more about self promotion and selling maps than giving any useful info – no maps to see unless you buy!

……….and for that reason I’m out!

I have an old bath in my Victorian house.

Used one of the re-enamelling kits and it came up lovely – still in use by the family around 10 years later.

If you like the shape etc then its probably easier and quicker to fix the old one.

(I have broken one up in a different house – very noisy and bad on the ears to hit it with a hammer to break up into manageable pieces)

    Sad at your loss Danny.

Really pleased that your sister managed to make peace with your mum though – my dad (and mum) both died of cancer. My younger sister had a difficult relationship with Dad and never really resolved it with him.

Screwfix do a circular saw that has a blade that can cut wood and metal.

It is brilliant for zipping up pallets as it does not matter if you miss a nail or two.

Pro evolution I think is the brand (you could also just get one of the multi blades and fit to another circular saw if you have one already)

trying to cut pallets with a non multi blade is not very successful, the first nail you touch will ruin the blade.

Al – the gearbox on a normal Smart is the single worst item on any car I have ever had the misfortune to drive

Had one on the Italian riviera a few years ago – no power which was blunted by the slowest witted gearbox you could imagine.

PLease try one before you buy as I think they are a world away from an MX5

(I am assuming they share parts with the non roadster Smarts of the same era!?!)

I think the best way is to discuss the irregularities with HR on the process for selection

Then jump on any offering of a compromise agreement that is made.
