    +1 for briquettes

    I just had 1,000kg delivered for £200.

There seems to be different types on offer – look for the thicker diameter ones – seem to burn very well and look nicer than the smaller ones.

They have so little moisture in them, you need to make sure they are bagged to avoid picking up moisture from the air!

My google fu is not so good!

I cannot find the £30 ones, only £45?

Anyone link to a £30 one from somewhere they recommend / have had experience with?

    Great photo and very amusing.

Most things “fit” if you try hard enough!

Always buy socks with something on them to make pairing them up easier.

There is nothing worse that trying to use the length of the cuff at the top or the weave of the cloth to find a pair!

I am hoping to do it with my 2 kids and wife!

They seem to have an air bar / jump thingy at the far end – might have a go at that!

Had a go with the kids in Cornwall this summer

Great fun and surprisingly difficult last putting shot!

I think the place was a golf course but moved to foot golf as a novelty – local guy said it was rubbish for golf but plays weekly with his son since the changeover.

I play football once a week in addition to as much cycing as I can get in.

I have heard say that just cycling can shorted the Achilles?

(could be rubbish but a run around weekly gives me a different workout to cycling and is quite fun)

If only I could find an older football league to play in as losing to a group of 20 year olds can be a bit boring after a few years!

I have one of the On-one Phaarts.

Very cheap and works very, very well.

I have used this one on mountain bike tyres and road tyres – many smaller pumps don’t get on well with the higher pressure in road tyres.

I can’t really see the extra value in some of the pumps in the magazine test, since the on one’s are so cheap!

Feel free to say you get what you pay for etc………

I got some Shimano rs21 at the beginning of the year

They seem pretty good so far but do have the straight pull type bladed spokes which not all will like

(I bought them on purpose as the previous rear wheel was losing spokes around the elbow bit frequently)

I think the were from Merlin in the sale, about £110?

The great thing about the infocus ones it that when you move it and switch it on it displays “Infocus” but invariably it is out of focus.

    Bonus!

I have had a couple of new Vax’s with their warranty

We bought a max Air (i think!) a while ago and they work well, with good suction. After a while the bearings on the brush bar seem to go and they make a lot of noise – I am on my third so far.

Apparently if this one goes they will ask for it back to check out!

    Good service so far

A shorter seatpost will allow for a lower seat height, at full length the standard seatpost cannot be fully pushed down as it fouls on the bend.

It will be a shared bike, for me to use for winter when I dont want to ruin the transmission / seals on the orange 5

It will probably be a bit big for her, but used on gentle rides infrequently.

    Thanks!

    How have yours been?

    Have you made any changes?

    Anything to watch out for?

Losing weight is the best answer.

Tablets don’t need to give you side effects, especially at lower doses.

Look up the acd guidelines for an idea of which would suit you best.

Unfortunately at 61 doing nothing is probably not an option due to a high 10 year risk of an event

It seems to be sale time for some bike shops (again)

I managed to get some Shimano RS21’s in the sale in Jan / Feb from Merlin

It may be me fooling myself but I am sure that they are a bit stiffer than the original wheels on my Specialized allez and they have bladed spokes which must make you faster!

THink they were 120 for a pair

PEDALS Nylon flat test ride, loose-ball, w/ reflectors

16k for a bike and it comes with nylon pedals and reflector like a Halfords special!

Just come back from a week in Malcesine @ lake Garda.

I usually go during the May school hols (with the kids) but had to go later this year.

30+ degrees most days, I found myself on a loop going up the last bit to the half way point on the cable car (20% road gradient) thinking is this fun in this heat?

It was much better a couple of days later and actually in the cable car!

(not happy that it has been nice here when I was away!)

The name of the garage is FAR servicing, ask for CHarlie

Is Bikextreme the one at the bottom of the cable car?

Not bad last time I used them, they seem to have better bikes (the riding is very technical, the more travel the better!)

Get a leaflet from the cable car company as only 1 uplift an hour is for bikes.

You may struggle for time if you only have a half day if you want to do the 601 – you have approx. 300m of climbing to do from the top of the cable car (last May when I did it there was loads of snow to slow me down, should be quicker now)

If you can take your bike I would as the brake thing is difficult to get used to.

    Enjoy!

    Take your beer in!

(They dont mind coolboxes of beer, but a can if you buy it would be 350-£4)

I have been a few times and walked the whole track to take in the atmosphere.

Cant help about the traffic ‘cos we camped at the cricket club in Silverstone village

    Enjoy!

I run a 23 on the front and a 25 on the back

I think it makes it more comfortable with the 25 on the back

The brief is a bit loose here to say the least!

I have a 12 plate 320 d and it is very good at what it does – 50mpg overall and quick when you want it to be.

I would go for another…………but if you check the leasing companies you can get c class mercedes on really low monthly payments at the moment.

I would prob go for one of them!
