When I have done this in the past I’ve always been surprised that its the pull but of plunging, rather than the push that seems to get the job done!

ebay fees can be a significant factor here. I guess it depends on the inventory numbers and profitability

If you are using one of the shop options for “free” listings it makes sense to work out which option to use and where the breaks are (e.g. is it better to have no shop fees for the amount of listings you have or the first shop with x listings

websites are great from a lower fee per sale perspective, but its getting people to access them that is the issue – might be worth sharing your website with customers who buy from eBay with a discount in an attempt to port them across?

    Hopw this helps!

    Thanks for last night guys!

I found it an interesting experience:

Felt I worked harder than I did
Probably caused the poor start – I took setting off gently a little too literally
Not sure if you could hear me on the voice app thingy?
I found it difficult to gauge effort too = although this was my first Zwift group ride

    Might try it again soon!

    Cheers

    Hello all

Ive started Zwifting recently and could be interested in this as some motivation to push for higher levels of exertion (& sweat!!)

Im around 226 pounds with approx 200w ftp – would I be too slow?

Ive had it since August and its helped me lose a few pounds (20+)by having a target for excercise

There are some really easy rewards – Cafe Nero and Cinema tickets / Rakuten films – a couple of days activity gets you those

I found it a little difficult to understand the points as others have mentioned 30 mins at 120bpm gets you 8 points, but you need 12500 steps to get the same – that would take a couple of hours of walking

I’m a fan – although my apps have not been accessible since the new log-in process and I am fed up of chasing them to make it work again. Points have stopped syncing too which means its difficult to manage my effort to keep the watch + Amazon payments free

Recent glitch aside I like the idea of helping prevent illness through rewarding activity – sedentary lifestyle is a bigger killer than obesity at a population level

I’m not sure what the answer here is, any use of any fuel has obvious pollution consequences.

I burn waste wood from local makers of house roof structures – surely this is quite environmentally friendly?
One man’s waste is another man’s heating fuel!

    I’ve had a 1.8t 225 and a 3.2 versions

    They were both great!

The 225 is a good car and quick – not the most elegant of driving experiences, but able to safely use most of the go, most of the time

The 3.2 is a much nicer sound and experience – more sophisticated – I remember about 30 mpg too

If you can stretch to a 3.2 i would say its worth it!

Allopurinol is great for reducing the frequency of attacks – don’t take it during an attack as it can prolong!

Colchicine is good for reducing an attack (then see Allopurinol above)

Cherries have been shown to help with reducing attacks.

Hydration is key – try to take as much water to help with the excretion of the underlying high levels or uric acid.

Probs best for condensation rather than fastidiouse cleaning, but I quite like mine

I went for the screwfix Titan version (£25 ish) as its much cheaper than Karcher – added bonus for a victorian house it that the base has the screw thread for a regular painting brush pole = being able to reach the top of the windows!

There is a stove that might be of interest to you which had a successful kickstarter program finish last year

Its basically like an UUni pizza stove, but the firebox can be used as a stove to warm you without the pizza bit added

I think there is also a bio-lite camping stove that might be good – they use fans to add blown air so dont smoke much at all

Mistyped there ? ( ramipril is an ACEI, not an ARB. Losartan’s the ARB )

Apologies for the mistype as you mentioned above!

ARB’s theoretically should cause less bradykinin build-up which is thought to be the mechanism for the cough side effect.

It’s a case of horses for courses with BP medications!

There are reasons why ramipril (an ARB) should have a lower cough incidence than ACE inhibitors, but people react differently to medication.

Keep trying one until it suits you!

I quite having stoves (2) in my house.

I use offcuts from a local manufacturer of wooden roof trusses to heat my house in addition to wood that I come across which is only burnt when seasoned well

My wood is always less than 20% moisture when burnt, the roof truss wood is less than 4% water

If burnt well at high temp there is very little smoke from either chimney and both chimneys are about 40 plus feet from the ground

My alternative would be to burn more gas – rather than the waste products of industry and local gardeners – surely burning local waste wood is a good idea??

    Lots of useful info above

I would add that mine is now on 113k ish and Ive had it from new

When I last got some new tyres they noticed that there are a couple of small cracks in the rear alloys (MV3)
Apparently, this is quite a common thing with BMWs in general and may be related to the runflats

I’m now debating finding some second-hand wheels to swap over to as a welded wheel may not be as strong?

Any experience or thoughts? hive mind??

The thing with poison is that you dont often see the dead ones!

I got some “Pasta” rat poison from screwfix – apparently it is for difficult to kill rats – seemed to work well

I’ve not ridden an E-MTB, so excuse the lack of knowledge but – why don’t the manufacturers include a charging mechanism so when you are going downhill, you can make the motor work as a dynamo and charge the battery back up?

    Is this possible?

Has anyone tried to contact Hermes online or otherwise?

I have had some spectacular issues with drivers ticking the “Customer wants to return” when they have made one failed attempt to deliver the parcel and then decide to cut their losses and not have to go again

You can try their “Chatbot” which is a never ending rabbit tunnel

You can try their phone line – which is the same

basically, they admitted that their driver did it and that the contract says 3 attempts to deliver – but I lost my parcel – got no apology and wasted several hours trying to get somewhere!

I’m not normally affected emotionally by stuff on Singletrack – but the honesty and openness of these posts did make me feel:

Uplifted -that people feel a connection and genuinely seem to care about each other

Sad- that people are dealing with so much in their family and work lives.

I’ve just had a contract end – selling medicines to the NHS – and don’t know how I am going to get another job in these times and in an industry that is shrinking.
It’s amazing how much a job and income seems to dominate my life at the moment – in other aspects things are OK. I’m trying to be positive!

Whatever is going on in your life – please share with someone – if not on here then with a friend who wants to listen!

I know an IFA who is trustworthy and has got into this area in the last few years.

He is really busy with this sort of thing but as has been mentioned before there is a lot of work to do to be able to properly advise and the risks of claims it high – that seems to be what you are paying for.

If you are interested OP – send me a private note and I will share his details.

Is it worth riding to Malcesine and taking the cable up to the top of Mt Baldo?

Ive done that a couple of times, they have specific cars for bikes (15mins past the hour IIRC)

    I wish I was there!!

A letter to all NHS trusts was sent out recently with an expectation that they would be up to 90% of last years activity in September 2020. This may vary a little but they need to be making progress

It sounds like they are just leaving it and when pressed maybe are not the most organised!

Maybe book a call with your surgery and explain your position and its effect on your job/general health and ask them for support to get something done? A 10 min phone call might help you navigate the very large and difficult organisation that is the NHS!?

    Best of luck!

@Jameso – yes I think they are shared codes!

I plan to get the 2 I already have straightened and use a new one on the bike if thats possible.

Anybody got any further suggestions? (I have emailed Evans!)

I learned of an option when my son was learning to drive that could be of use!

We insured his Gran’s car for him on a separate policy that did not affect her insurance for a few weeks whilst he had a chance to practice driving.

If you have access to a local family member who rarely uses their car – perhaps this could be a good option??

Its good to set up scenes – I say Alexa goodnight and it turns all the cheaper third party sockets off at bedtime to avoid the journey around the house

You can also have the sockets turn the light on at dusk – it then turns it on at a different time each day, adjusting for the darkness hours

I think it should be able to do cleverer stuff like turn off the daughters bedroom light if she (her phone) is more than 500m from the house – never got around to that yet – maybe with IFTTT?

Honestly not a troll question below:

I understand that this year’s exams and the results are a S**T storm and I sympathise with all those caught up
I also know that there is a narrative that economically disadvantaged areas have been hit harder than the more affluent areas

The thing I am struggling with is how would the examiners know where a paper comes from? I guess it could happen at a level where someone has all the papers and knows which schools (and the area that they come from)

A bit confused if someone could help!

    Cheers

I went down a different route and bought a B&W zepplin air – big sound for the space it takes up

I now use it as a sound bar for the TV aswell – it really makes a difference to the enjoyment of films etc rather than the weedy sound from the tv

There are different versions of the Zepplin – the non air version could be good and connect with a lead – much cheaper!

I have a similar situation to you at home with a bit of woodland to look after and lots of small stuff to get rid of

I can direct you away from electric ones with ease! I borrowed one from a neighbour and find it very tricky to work. I’ve sharpened the blade so it’s very sharp indeed (its basically a metal disc with some blades attached that rotates at high speed).

Unfortunately, the circuitry in the dammed thing allows it to set off backwards half the time so it kind of wears the branches out rather than chipping – it’s also hard to get started and clogs all the time

The one you link to looks great – worth trying before you lay out that kind of money though?

Mmight be best under a new thread, but I have a tyre issue too!

A recent visit to my usual specialist garage for a service resulted in a note on the bill to say 4 new tyres needed

I have a measuring tool and measured the tread across the 3 big radial groove in the fronts and the rears – they all have about 4 mm of tread across all of the big grooves

There is no evidence of uneven outer or inner wear (although those grooves are not as deep to start with)

I think they are fine for an imminent trip to France and have checked online – I thought one of you might have a useful opinion??

As others have mentioned definitely illegal to give any POM status drug to a UK resident without a prescription.

I would also doubt that there is anything in terms of quality control – the danger is that there may be non of the actual active ingredient in a given pack of their drugs. The next batch might be a generic version at full strength – the consequences of different strengths of the product, especially psychoactive ones is significant!

Well done for sharing the info with the authorities MHRA and the home.

    Scary stuff!
