You are told to adopt the brace position to protect your teeth so that you can be indentified by dental records. Apparently.

If its only 3 months, stick with umbrella. You'll get some good info if you go to forums.contractoruk.com and there is a stick in the accountancy section about the various choices. Then feel free to come back to me. I'll update my profile with email address.

Umbrella companies are just an extra fee to come off your income. Own ltd co is the way to go. This is my area of expertise. PM me if you want some information. If I can't help you I can put you in touch with someone who can.

EDIT: If its a short term contract or if the contract rate isn't especially high, your own limited company could probably be more hassle than its worth.

I've been seriously considering teaching at primary level for a while and the recent news that there is a shortage of male primary teachers has got me thinking again. However, I don't have a degree and it seems that is pre-requisite for teacher training. Anybody here ever retrained as a teacher?

I went to Italy on holiday a few years back and the town we stayed in didn't have any restaurants to speak of – only pizza joints. When we couldn't be a*sed cooking, we'd get a pizza. They were so good. It's difficult to class both these and what you get in Domino's, Pizza Hut etc as the same thing. An Italian restaurant is the only place in this country worth buying a pizza, IMHO. Unless you are going to cook it yourself, in which case Aldi, Lidl and Asda are all good.

I haven't been out since October. I knew November and early December would be out because of work but the plan was to do a fair bit in the Xmas holidays. Then it snowed. I was going out this weekend but I fell over on the ice on Friday morning. Classic old lady tumble and my shoulder hurts like a b*tch. Mightr be another couple of weeks yet. 🙁

The 46 bottles of vodka is an extract. Its 46 bottles of Vodka, 26 bottles of whisky; 130 bottles of wine and three swimming pools of lager. 🙂

Only kidding obviously. Its more skewed reporting to make us all look like jakeys up here. I don't think that Scotland has any more of a problem than the rest of the UK with drink. Fags and chips are a different matter and probably a bigger problem.

Of course there are loads more and modern literature has its place but unfortunately a crass or basic grasp of literature does indeed make you a pleb.

    Are you Bryan Sewell?

King Lear: Shakespeare – Possibly the greatest piece of Literature ever written? Read it or you're a cretin. Not always enjoyable, but important

I've never read it so I must be a cretin. If I read it now, will I stop being a cretin? Maybe, but you'll still be a d1ck.

I know a guy who has personal plate who only got it so no-one knew his car was a few years old. Then he got a brand new car and left the personally plate off for a couple of weeks so that everybody knew he had bought a brand new motor. What a D1CK.

Liked the metro rod one though.

    Lister, lol.

Don't forget the very hungry caterpillar and the tiger who came to tea. These are literally MUST reads in our house at the moment.

    Fair point deadlydarcy.

    Must reads then:

still most fo the Steinbeck cannon
    lord of the flies
    catch 22
    cathcer in the rye
    to kill a mockingbird
    1984

I notice when listing them that these are all 20th century classics and I've read alot of others but if I could only read these books again I think I could cope.

    you can keep shakespeare.

Ours are on beta complete and they get all the table scraps as well. I heard somewhere that the best diet for a dog is scraps and stuff as that is what their stomachs etc are designed for. Dunno how true that is thought.

My last dog had sh1te trouble though and i think he was recommended by the vet to get Burns.

Elmo, thats human nature – bad service gets talked about, good service doesn't. Maybe because good service is what people pay for and if they don't get it, they are entitled to complain?

And if you look at the thread, most people are applauding CRC. Thats why it was started in the first place.

It also gave Andy the opportunity to right a few wrongs, which he has done, and is being commended for it.

Andy@CRC, issue now resolved by Christopher. Getting some free stickers for my lads on my next order so I too applaud CRC.

Yip. Looking forward to this. Sounds pretty good. If there is to be no chat on the thread (which suits me) how we going to comment and criticise? For us novices, the Club could be a good way to improve our photography with a bit of help from the experts.

If service is so key to CRC, then surely they wouldn;t be using Parcelforce who are, undeniably rubbish. If I had noticed that it was PF that was delivering, I probably wouldn't have ordered having had issues with them in the past.

C_F, surely you'd want it to keep raining for, ooh another 3 days. That way you'd get another draw and this time have scored more runs than SA. 😀

Hate to spoil the party but I placed an order on 19/12 and paid for next day delivery. The order didn't arrive until a week later. After Christmas. I've emailed them twice this week regarding a refund or some credit for the delivery charge but haven't heard from them. I know that the weather is probably the problem regarding the delivery but it doesn't explain not replying to emails.

A retriever of some sort. Golden, lab, flattie etc. All are good dogs.

I would think carefully though if it's going to be left alone all day. I've got 2 goldens and they get antsy after a couple of hours.

All day every day seems a bit heartless IMO.

    Binners,

    Your strapline doesn't inspire confidence:

"Whatever the breif, we'll attack it with relish – from coorporate branding to e-commerce – we deliver a service entirely relavant to your companies needs"

4 spelling mistakes in one sentence.

Website looks good as well but attention to detail is important.

I'm only about 10 miles from Carron Valley and its thawing quickly here. Although hard pack snow is turning to skating rink ice. I'd guess by the weekend it'll be ok.
