My sister and neice both have labradoodles and they are mental. I don't think they'd be especially suitable for kids? My sister has two of the most placid rought collies your ever likely to come across and the 'doodle has taken on none of their personality, and she seems pretty difficult to train. Lactic, your dog does look pretty cool though.

Yeah, I've got that issue as well. Max is well behaved and chilled in the house and Sam is a bit nore highly strung. Out of doors Max is away chasing squirrels and rabbits most of the time and Sam normally pads along beside me.

Woody, are they off the same litter? Mine are and they were a b*gger to train. eventually resorted to taking them out separately for training.

I've got three kids and two golden retreivers. They are very good with kids but can be a bit boisterous. max and Sam have had my wee girl on her ar5e on many an occasion. Need a bit of exercise but not too much. I don't that I'd want them as a guard dog but when the doorbell rings they have a deep bark which would be quite off-putting I think.

    Here's Max:

    and here's Sam:

Lost my sister last summer. We weren't especially close but it hurts like hell for a few months then gets better. Still have a wee bubble every now and again but that's ok. Take care.

If you're talking abt the 50% rate a bit of tax planning should make it almost irrelevant. Remember personal Allowances also reduce on a sliding scale between £100 and £150k. Use of pension, spouse divs, deferral of income are all options.

Mate. You'll be lucky. Getting a mortgage without 3 years books has always been difficult but self cert used to be an option. It isn't now.

If you're a contractor/freelancer you might have some options. Google freelancer financials or contractor mortgages. You might get something with them. Otherwise you might need to suck it up until you have proof of income.

Sorry but these are the facts.

Always single breasted 2-button affair. Only do up top button. If you're a mod and you've got 3-button suit only do up eother top two or middle one. Never do up the bottom button on a suit jacket.

As a fully paid member of the rough town residents club I concur that Denny is a dump. Does appear to be n the up though. Didn't know the centre was getting torn down. Good news.

Consultant / contractor accountant. Busy. To the extent I've dumped my general practice clients to focus exclusively on contractor sector. The market isndping well andnthe areas I specialise in – generally IT consultants and oil & gas – are doing ok. Lots of new contracts around but rates are being cut a bit. But maybe that's the markets correcting becuase some of the rates were bonkers.

I've got a 3GS and the only fault is the battery life but I;ve now got a car charger so that shouldn't be an issue any longer. I dunno if its better or worse than a Blackberry because I've never owned one but as a phone its great; for email its great; for music its great; for apps its great. So, 2 years in, I'd say the novelty hasn't worn off yet.

Westkipper/ Yip there's a bike club, Velosport Bo'ness, wuns out of Revolutionary Bikes just along from Tesco. Can't be far from your pitch. Its road-based sh!te just now but I'm thinking of agititating for a muddy chapter.

It's a cr@p that someone gets twatted like this but I think it's also cr@p that the OPs gettng stick for not skelping him back. I probably wouldn't have hit the guy back either.

Never thought I'd see bo'ness get votes FOR in a place to live thread. Cool.

Westkipper, where in Bo'ness are you? I'm down carriden way. Do you know about the bike club being set up?

I've some sympathy with you here BB. I made a glib comment about Dundee being an armpit of a place recently and got total pelters. Looks like it's your turn tonight

I live in a small town between Edinburgh and Glasgow. Bo'ness. It's a weird dump of a Place but I like it. Pubs are mostly rubbish. There's nowt to do. There's loads of bampots. But it's my hometown and it's full of my family and pals and i wouldn't live anywhere else. Difficult to be objective about other places but I spend a lot of time all over central belt andnid say the stirling area has about the most to offer. Keep out of Lanarkshire IME and fife, while nice, is full of weirdos. But then that's what people from outside my area probably says about us.

Always been tempted by raja fashions but never got round to it. Might reconsider now that I have a recommendation – even if it is from a Montrose bumpkin!

FWIW I think its (a) a pretty cool jersey and (b) good news that a local business is launching a cycling team.

Sputnik, get yourself down the library or bookshop and get Jamie Oliver's books. He's a massive-tongued freak but he's got some damn fine pasta recipes that are a bit different.

    Penne with Peas and Pancetta:
Fry some pancetta, garlic, chopped chilli (optional) and shallot for a bit then pour in a glass of wine. Let it reduce by half then add some dried oregano. Cook out for a bit then put in the pasta.

    Linguine with Peas and Prawns:
A bit like the above. Garlic, chilli and shallots in a pan. Fry until soft then add glass of wine. Reduce by half and add raw prawns. Cook for a ouple of minutes and toss in linguine.

I'm an accountant specialising in the contractor market. From what I know of the belgian system its fairly complicated. The ContractorUK forum is your friend. Here's a shrunken link to a Belgian Tax sticky http://ow.ly/1fYLK

I've 2 full grown retriever and they heel with me on the bike on a lead. Its probably a bit irresponsible and dangerous but it hasn't caused any problems. I only ever do it for about half a mile and on quiet road though. I think I saw somewhere alead that you can attach to your seatpost that is rigid for the first bit so keeps the mutt away from the bike. I googled but can't find the page.

pop-up panic n. The bowel loosening fear that comes from having to hurridly close down internet grumble sites one has been ogling due to the impending approach of a boss, spouse or parent, only to be suddenly assaulted by a barrage of obscene pop-ups that multiply the more one tries to delete them.

We had a right old laugh last week giving names to Jordan's capacious f*nny. Don't know how it got started but my favourite was "Dropped Kebab" or "Chippie's Toolbag". Somebody also said it'd look like a wet yellow pages.
