Just to further Craig's description of the stolen bike, the 'Juliana' stickers on the top tube had recently been removed leaving an area of shiny, 'as-new' paint which is quite obvious apparently.

Keeping my eyes peeled and fingers crossed here.

I love the idea of them but fear that my 1/2 UK size difference between feet will prevent a good fit… like climbing stickies.

Well, now the weekend's over I can report that a bike did get nicked.

A friends car was broken into while she slept in her tent not 5m away. The scrotes pinched a small Santa Cruz Juliana in black with SID's. Juliana stickers have recently been removed leaving a nice shiny patch where they used to be.

    Please keep an eye out.

Maybe not totally in your area, but Revolution in Bangor have always been good to me.

Biecs Betws in Betws-y-Coed, near Penmachno and Marin trails gets my vote too.

Further south, Holy Trail in Mach is another good shop that I have only visited once, but worthy of future custom.

    oddjob –

If the on-one wheel is in ok nick, other than the fubar'd freehub, I may be interested if you want shot of it. I'm after a very cheap 29er rear wheel for an experiment!

Dunno if it helps, and sorry if it's a bit cheeky, but I have a steamroller for sale:

Joe Blow sprint here – just cos I am original.

Aboout 20 pumps to 110psi (700 x 32c) – not as good as I had been led to believe by reading online reviews, still a well made pump though.

+1 for D321 or even D521 (rim brake version of 321 – may be cheaper).

Hubs? what ever you can get really.

A dehumidifier and a heater can turn any room into a great DIY drying room for all your gear!

Langdale campsite has this setup and it really works!

I know of a few hostels that use it too, so Im guessing its worth a shot for your room.

I've just got a Kaffenback (its my only roadie bike) and it gets the thumbs up from me. £700 with lots of Ultegra and a bit of 105, steel frame and all the braze-ons. Whats not to like?

Any behavior like that, no matter what age deserves nothing less than two fingers and a pint in their face.

    Dogs.

Can't girls go out without be made to feel like meat?

Old Man Mountain racks don't need braze-ons, Tubus do universal fit kits for their racks too.

Pieface – no sorry, Hollyhead – cardiff/chepstow – Hollyhead in 7 days (at a guess).

You could always get a train to Bangor, cycle leisurely (as I did) to Cardiff then train back to Sheffs.

Just a suggestion. The route takes in some really nice parts of Wales.

I can really recommend the 'Lon Las Cymru' – Hollyhead to Cardiff or Chepstow.

It was my first tour and loved it. Took 5 days singlespeed. I reckon with gears you could make it there and back in 7.

I let it soak for about 10 mins then thoughly rinse with water.

Not sure if its the right thing to do, but I assume it is.

    Thanks for your input.

Im edging towards the logo, shame really, as I had just accepted the high price tag of the Vega (£50ish) and the Logo goes for approx 50% more! Oh the price we have to pay for steel! 😯

lx stuff is now a so-called 'trekking' groupset, hence the larger gears.

if its for a mtb, i'd go with the deore.

And yes – as cool as it is to bash on-one on here – I think that geometry-wise they are one of the best bikes EVER!

I toured the length of Wales in a singlespped inbred with a carry freedom trailer. I sold the bike to a mate when I was short of funds ad would pay twice what I sold it for to get it back – even if I only used it for touring. They work very well for this.
