Am I missing a trick by not adding accidental cover on my home insurance?

I can’t remember what cost this feature was to add onto the policy

Yep, I’ve rode it at night. Really pleasant having it to yourself.

    I have:

Reversed the car out of the garage without the door fully up. Cracking the box the morning we were leaving for hols.

Driven the kids bikes into my garage frontage. I realised straight away and got away with that one with some minor upvc damage

I got some moove component thins on my bmx. I got them when they did their 1st batch and they were silly cheap.

    Nice, light and grippy.

Have you got another rim you could fit it to, inflate and stretch the tyre?

    I’ve got 32oval with a 42t on my 29″ ht and a 32 with 40t on my full suss 27.5.

If I can’t push that gear because it’s so steep, I’m actually quicker walking and giving my lungs a breather.

If you read the comments further up, there are a couple of people with 26″ wheels with nice hub/spoke combinations that are wondering if they could potentially relace them to the lb 38mm rims. I’ll try and get the spoke length that was used for mine and update the post.

Yes, I’ve got 52″ wheels. That clears it up nicely.

Or, the spokes for the wheels on my build were what the lbs would ‘normally’ associate with a 26″ wheel build. Please excuse me for not knowing the exact length that was used.

Although its quite therapeutic lacing a wheel, its something I’d rather just pay for to be done correctly and efficiently.

    Thanks rubber buc.

I never really thought about it until starting a cannock night lap after I’d dropped the wife for a girly night out.

I randomly fell off, still can’t tell you how and smashed my knee off the stem. I could not stand for a bit. Typically I was at the furthest I could be from the car.

I limped home, just about got the car to the wife.

It was a day or 2 later someone told me the stories of the black eyed girl at cannock, I decided I won’t do that again.

I regularly cycle close to home in the am dark. I love being out as the sun comes up.

Stick to the tnt versions. I holed a none tnt sagauro on the second ride. Tht versions seem very tough.

I’ve got a Weber from Germany. Ridiculous how well its built.

It doesn’t get used as much as it should.

When I had my 38mm rims built onto my hope hubs, the lbs stated they were using 26″ spokes.

As other people have mentioned, its not just about width.

I regularly used a 2.4 Goma on the rear of my 29″ (arch ex rim) and its nowhere near the cushioning effect of the 2.8 trailblazer (38mm deep rims), even though it was much wider.

I’d have to echo the lack of air. I hit my local pump track and I found it quite hard to get some good lift.

I had the dla system on my velvet 2 forks. A very good system that worked well for me.

I did the same. Some ritchey wcs copies. They survived about 6 months and failed after I’d had a fall on them at dyfi.

They failed on an event and took me off. I was very lucky. Worst bit was having to ride the rest of the event with odd length bars.

    We all make mistakes.

    Spank oozy vibrocore here.

I noticed the difference on full runs at bike park Wales. I didn’t have to UN claw my hands off my bars on runs 6to 11

Seems odd you are getting linkage bearing failure and also premature wear on the air shaft. Maybe something isn’t entirely straight on the frame. I’d make sure that’s noted to them when they look at it.

I like my 27.5+ canfield yelli. I still really enjoy riding it but I do feel there are negatives too.

Prior to hitting the forest I had a play on a pump track I know. I was a good 10% slower per lap. I really noticed the extra rotating weight was affecting the Chuck-ability and the self steer wasn’t confident inspiring on the berms.

Once in the forest all is well and hooligan mode is back on. The comfort on the rear is great, the front isn’t as accurate as I’d like. I may slap a 29″ front in to see how that feels, or try another front tyre.

Its good, but magazines don’t tell the full picture and its easy to get ‘new upgrade’ blindness

North wind, vicious valley has a jump over a path with a steep, fast run in. I’d say that’s far worse than the qualifiers. Also leads to the a470 which has got a harsher optional drop.

Qualifiers are too easy compared to some of the trails.

I reckon the maxxis rekon will be quite useful.

That or I’m slapping my 29″ front back in.

    I’m keeping 27.5+ rear though

My best times on the blues are on my ht.

I’d not fancy 50 shades, rim dinger and the black one after the tunnel which I can’t remember it’s name.

Sure, you can ride them.. but I think it would be more enjoyable on a fs.

Terry’s belly is ok, long and you can get your cornering groove on. Easy to lose concentration on and a few of our lads fell from switching off.

Tony is awesome, makes things so simple. Bugger buying x, y or z which some magazine says you can’t ride without; have some proper training. I just wish I was closer to him.

I found since my big off this summer I’ve gone back to his techniques and mental skills in order to get my riding back up to pace.

A lot on a canfield yelli before there was a UK supplier. Still less than the 900 ctbm had them for via a German supplier.

There wasn’t many choices back then for an aggressive ht, so I was willing to pay the premium. It was worth it.

The new yelli is out so you may be able to get a discount on some of the older stock?
Overspoke bikes in bewdley (or cranknuts as online canfield dist) had a couple left.

I was under dressed, bit nippy but a satisfying ride in the countryside capped off by filtering through some long queues as I approached the city. Kom and some good pace to boot too.

After getting back on a bmx recently, it’s made me realise how soft my riding has become.

Nothing better I think for some repetitive training (skills and sprinting)

Canfield yelli. Expensive frame but its such a lively, light, fun bike.

2 years on its still my favourite. Feels like a bmx with big wheels.

Just dropped in some 27.5+ wheels which is an added bit of flexibility.

Fair enough, thats the same as me (11st). I’d found the rear wtb plenty grippy, but then again I have been using an ardent race of late..

I tried a Scott scale and was seriously impressed for a normal bike for head down riding. I wanted something slacker for more gnarrr though.

Within 2 hours journey? I wouldn’t go anywhere else than Tony/Jedi.

Thebikeschool, did mine at cannock dh trails.

Did a 1 to 1 with Pete Lloyd and progressed loads with my jumping, cornering.

Jedi is superb, but I’m a good hour and a bit south of you and it was a right sod of a journey.

1 to 1, or 2 to 1 with someone who rides at the same level, and has the same aspirations for the course.

I think my bill was sub or low 200 at the lbs for rebuilding my 29″ rims with my lb 38mm rims, Inc tyres/tubes/spokes/valves.

Given I’d just creased my arch ex rim I was in for a rim and rebuild bill anyway.

I think 38mm rim is pretty narrow. Up front it could do with being a touch wider to get a more consistent tyre profile (i don’t think the rev forks would take a Hugo rim, and the Hugo rim is pretty weighty too).

I’d agree with what’s been posted above.

Quite a lot more comfort, a good amount of extra grip and possibly slightly slower climbing. Lots and lots of fun though.

I have 4 miles to get to my local trails and they roll much better than expected.
