    Two comments

Viewed two Oranges yesterday at Swinley. Sure there was more that I missed and even more when I was not there :)

The bottle issue, I have only recently remembered the joy of not having a camelback. New shock means that I have no room for even the small fidlock.

Tools in steerer tube, quad lock lock for phone and I never take a pump.

What if I take an eBike to an uplift?

    *head explodes*

I took mine to 417 bike park, I was destroyed before the battery ran out.. Uplift with the Pivot next time.

All this “being tracked” tinfoil stuff, cashless and only using cash occasionally are not the same are they?

Don’t like cash, like the convenience of my watch and phone being available with me almost all the time.

But ASDA won’t take my watch/phone payments and I have to use my card. I have only been to ASDA twice last year and failed at checkout both times. Cash would have saved the embarrassment at the till.

And my son checks my pockets for money, but now he asks for all his money to be paid into his Go Henry. I have two bags of coins (over £100) from his dodgy bubblegum mobile school shop.

Forgot, to finish the thread with the outcome.

All done now, thanks to the Ebike Motor Centre. Bolt removed and the motor cover was resprayed.

Thanks to Weeksy for the suggestion and the amazing gesture of dropping off on my behalf.

    Valheim.

I’ve played too much of it since November. Can’t see myself playing anything else in 2024 or 2025

Forgot about this, played for hours with my son. Big boys Minecraft :)

Another example of **** getting annoyed that others don’t behave /think the same as they do :)

Thanks, zoom catch-ups today, quality reading.

I took the ebike out yesterday but forgot to bring the Kiox display so there was no power, being fat and lazy but not wanting to not use the parking fee I rode it anyway. Wont be doing that again.

Is it happy or angry shouting?

Son becomes a teenager tomorrow but I am sure he acts similarly😃

It is annoying but is he not just enjoying himself?

Big fan of carbon bits, hated it before having it. Same with the ebike :)

Heavy rider now and I have smashed twice on the same big double jump landing on top of the landing. Pivot mach 6 and a Blue Flue rear rim. Nothing apart from a £1.5k plus dental bill.

    Burgtec carbon  bars also.

Ebike spec Rim dented on the 2nd or 3rd ride, and I have no idea where I could have damaged it.

    That looks ace

This is a good place to plug an event I went to, although not on again until next year.

I went to the Southern Scale Trail in Somerset a couple of weekends ago, was a busy weekend combining Goodwood Revival and that event. It’s an event for RC crawlers, from scale versions to one off specials. It’s ace, basically a weekend of blokes and their crawlers messing around in a quarry. Yes there were some women there but mostly not, and a few kids but not many

I went with my 12yo son and we shared driving an Axial SCX10. We both really enjoyed it. Friendly atmosphere and no competitiveness, just a bit of fun. There’s a marked trail, plus a load of gated trails and some areas just to mess around in.

We broke a servo horn on the day and couldn’t get a replacement to fit it from the traders on site, was gutted and thought that was the end of the day. Managed to get one from another attendee, what a result. Also came away with an Axial SCX24 because I fancied something on a smaller scale to mess around with

I’ve been enjoying crawling more than blatting around at speed. Both good, but there’s something satisfying about the slower speed technicality, plus batteries a lot longer and there are less breakages

Missed the above post – We were also at this event (12 year old son also :) Second year we have attended. This year I also had a truck, but his crawler kept packing in so he was using mine while I was back at the van fixing the main  servo :)

I had upgraded the servo and had the old Traxxas one in the van. Rolling down the big gravel hill climb beside where the cars were parked killed it early on.

I’m taking ours this week, if you want to drop your bike to me and i can take it to them, i’m happy to do so.

    I’m just north of Newbury.

That would be ace if you could. They mention they only read their emails a few days a week though, I will try and make contact with them.

    Many thanks

These are the three kits I have bought and failed with.

I will post a picture when i get home, the bolt sits flush with the bracket so no chance of a pipe grip style removal.

I now have the correct bit and single tool for removal :) Non carbon thankfully

    Radioactivity by Radioactivity

Only 10 years old though so might not count.

Doolittle is my 12 year old sons favourite album of all time ( shortish exposure though) and also my wife’s most hated. He only has 6 albums for his turntable and its on every night and attempts to be car DJ with it. I forgot how good it was.

Also headphones, you no longer get headphones ! I was very happy with the plug in ones you used to get.

They stopped supplying EarPods with the iPhone 12, along with a charging plug. A pair of EarPods with a USB-C plug from Apple will cost £19, which honestly is peanuts. If you’ve still got a pair or two of EarPods with Lightning connectors, or even 3.5mm jacks, you can get 3.5mm > USB-C adapters from Amazon which work perfectly well. I’ve got studio spec Røde headphones and Ultimate Ears in-ear monitors that I use with my 15 Pro Max using their original supplied 3.5mm cables, that, along with a Fiio DAC, all have 3.5mm > USB-C adapters, the Fiio comes with its own adapter. They honestly sound superb, too; the adapters have built-in DAC’s, and listening to Lossless downloads is fantastic. I can’t be bothered with an adapter for the EarPods at the moment, it’s just as easy to just get the USB-C version and find an adapter for the two or three pairs I’ve acquired over the years later on. Outstanding ‘phones, the EarPods, considering what they cost, unless they don’t fit your ears.

Does your DAC do anything to the output from the Iphone? When I use Amazon music wired to my headphones I can check on the resolution (? is that the correct term) of the track, what the device is capable of and what the output is. My 15 pro/DAC combo has nothing past the basic lossless units. Mac book and DAC have huge numbers compared to phone.

I didn’t sign for a work laptop so I ended up with two. I had one in the garage for Zwift. I got so used to having it I forgot it was not mine.

I got a call from the youngster in IT months later asking if I had two laptops as one was due for an upgrade and he had signed it out when he delivered it to to my site. I lied about it being in my locker and I would bring it to him the next day.

    Embarrassing :)

Apart from passport can you get 14yr ID? Or even better what fake ones can you get🥴

We had to get Pixies seating tickets as I dont not want to risk getting turned away then leaving son outside waiting for me 😃

When we went to dog day afternoon it was age 12 and under free entry. Expected a hard time as he looks older. No problem, didnt even ask how old he was.

tbh i think the games companies are getting too obsessive about putting ray tracing in games at the expense of other things. 3 racing games i think look stunning still are project gotham racing 4 on 360, driveclub on ps4  and forza motorsport 7 xb1.

Project Gotham was ace, loved the early one at the start of online racing- Edinburgh, up the mound through the Grassmarket and past the job center behind the castle. Not sure what PG version, the only game I ever got the 1000 achievement points ( add on DLC ruined the 100% though).

Schools are useless most of the time- Either cant or just wont deal with the problem.

son changed school and when he got there he was told not mess with one boy. Son told them he was an idiot at the school they had both been at previously and wasn’t scared of  him. Three boys punching and kicking him every day. And nobody would play with him  as they were told not by the bully boy.

Wife had told him to never hit anyone so he just stood at took it. I had to start taking him to school and he would not want to go in until the last moment as he didn’t want anybody knowing he had been crying.

He did judo at school, so I told him not to take it any more. He threw one boy hard on his back and he banged his head. Which led to a meeting with the parents of all involved and the teachers. He was the only one who admitted to hitting/hurting any of them. Wife had pictures of all the marks on his arms and legs.
Stopped after this, but he refused to shake hands with any of them which I thought was ace. How does a hand shake make up for weeks of hell.

Violence is not the answer but as always its easy to comment when the situation is not directly affecting you.

Tried with the downstairs TV’s arc HDMI. Arc input and cable work fine when connected. So my expensive 7m cable is ok and the sound bar works fine, but not where I want.

    Thanks again everyone

apologise for missing the BT q. Yes player has bluetooth (firestick also) And can get sound but only loudish, but perfectly clear. If I use the spotify connection within the app I can only get to level 20 on the volume as it is so loud unlike the BT.

i thought for atmos I would need a expensive fast cable, I have ordered another shorter on to check if the cable is the issue.

no arc on the Optoma 42, but have a fibre cable running from the 42 through the loft and into the the old soundbar.

i have ordered a short mini HDMi to check if the cable is the issue

S801B Samsung- has power and Arc in only. (And a USB port) its a nice low profile design.

Mentions in the review I watched to check for compatibility🥴

no fibre or co-ax unfortunately. The old bose has a fibre connection to the projector.

    bluray player is Sony ubp-X800M2

help-full posts are very much appreciated. Thanks

We got the Sony UBP-X800M2 for £190 on Ebay, new in sealed box. It feels really solid and so much quicker/quieter than the xbox, also dont have to have mini fridge like unit on the table. Had an issue with the projector looking for a signal when using the options button and then a blank screen.and was thinking the worst of the Ebay supplier. Thought we had a conflict between Sony and Optoma :). It was the 4K HDMI hub/switch disconnected and all is ok, which was weird.

Quality is ace, The 50p Blu Rays look really sharp which is a bonus.  Back to the future 4K disc “ace quality but rubbish CGI” was my son’s first comment :) Bean bag sofa topped up & B&M visisted to fill up the Coke fridge with fizzy pop. Its a 4k movie day on Sunday- Goonies, ET & Back to the Future 2&3 (we don’t have 1)

Very tempted at that price, even though they are too small (though it seems ebikes overwhelmingly are) I wouldn’t notice right?

Is this correct about bike sizing?

I have a large Whyte e160, my 12 year son rides it fine with about an inch of seat post. But he looks like it’s a long reach to the bars. Wife had a small 46 and he only just could ride it. Thought it was weird he was so comfortable on it.

How plausible is his story? Are your vehicles some way from the road and are there other places to hide before getting to the car/bins? What does the footage show, does he go straight behind the bin or does he have a wander round the cars first? Do you live on a main road or in the middle of nowhere?

    Personally I’d be very suspicious.

He trots in between the van and car, dog goes mental, son checks his ring app, wakes me up, I go to the kitchen then run outside.  So took a  few minutes for me getting to him. Possibly true he was hiding, but my 12-year-old detective said he was probably hiding from people in another house he tried to steal from :)

Next door have a biggish drive but across the road only have front gardens, ring is on the porch and went past the porch to the side gate.

I rang the Police who didn’t give a stuff

Wife reported online but not able to post any pictures, when the van was broken into and I had been to lazy to put the bike away we had video footage, offered a reward, and the bike was returned and had clear video of the person returning the who looked similar to theft video. Police didn’t want either. Total waste of time.

Three days to  reply from them when I found another of my stolen bikes on Gumtree. “Its no longer on gumtree”

What forks are they? If it’s a new bike, then the fork lowers may be dry, with grease in the wrong places. It’s what happened with my bike.

Fox 38 and on a new bike- done about 300 miles, out today after rotating at bit more forward and its only the left hand around the thumb that was really sore.

But had a sit on my Pivot Mach 6 and it feels so much more comfortable. Perfect almost From memory the mAch 6 has a long reach.

Day of next week so will swap the Burgtec bars over the the new bike.

    Usual Suspects

Great double act of main actor and director for less than acceptable behaviour.

    and from Popbitch

Now that Kevin Spacey has been found not guilty, talk has turned to him starting up work again – but it might not be so simple. Since Spacey has been on sabbatical, producers have had a lot of time to reflect upon the wisdom of hiring A-listers with such well-established reputations – and safe-guarding is now much more of a concern than it used to be.

Essentially, everyone is wary not to end up in the same situation that the Old Vic put itself in with its famed production of David Mamet’s Speed-The-Plow, where Spacey was acting opposite Jeff Goldblum.

Management had to be on high alert for the entire run, looking out for every young staffer in the building – keeping the girls at arm’s length from Goldblum on the one hand, and the boys from Spacey on the other.
