Welcome to the world of renting, your landlord will do try to shaft you at every turn. Take lots of photos of the damage, or even a video demonstrating the paint coming off.

Also withhold your last months rent to the same amount as your deposit. I rented for best part of a decade before I could buy somewhere. Each and every landlord I encounterd was less trustworthy than a politician.

Landlords are renting their house to you as a business, therefore it’s all about maximising their returns. Paying £x to re paint a hallway will eat into their profit for no benefit to them(you have already signed a contract after all). Why would they pay for it to be done when they can charge it to you at the end of your tenancy?

    This happens every time :)

    All landlords are ****.
Everyone is making a huge profit
Why should I have to pay rent it should be free as I’m doing them a favour looking after there property.

Ops landlord sounds like a arse but some tenants can be also :)

Was there not someone who runs a claim management company on here offering to sort the claims out?
Might have been for mortgages or I’m thinking of another site.

Seems to be a third party “on behalf of” now. Someone posted a horror story on here a few weeks ago about them; the abridged version was that they were offered (figure), sent the phone in, were told it was ‘damaged’ and actually offered (figure about a tenth of the original offer), on the advice of the STW massive the poster responded saying “send it back, then” and they suddenly decided it was fine and paid out the originally agreed amount.

I was greedy and went for the one offering the most( Mobile Phone Xchange). Was offered £140 for iphone 4. But was told there was dead pixels and scratches to the back despite having the helicopter tape case that can withstand an attack by a Dremil tool. £38 was the new offer. So I requested my phone back but it took emails and calls to get sorted.

    Dear David,
Please accept my apologies for the delay in getting back to you. I have only just received a response from our warehouse regarding your handset.
The warehouse have informed me that although the request to return the handset to you was sent to them on 04/07/13 there seems to have been a system error and they have instead sent the handset on for recycling.
Due to this error I can confirm that we will be processing the full payment of £140. These funds will be applied to your Paypal account as orginally requested within 3 working days.
Again, please accept my sincere apologies for any inconvenience caused.
If there is anything else that we can help you with then please do not hesitate to contact us.
    Kind Regards
    Helen

That sports direct one looks like a bargain.

I lost the big bite end of my camel back and it is £5 for a new one, so thought I can get a new bladder for £30 with a big bite and then I thought I can get a new bag and bladder for £50.

But the mule looks pretty good.

I had a ride out yesterday without my gravity dropper and a bottle of water in my mayhem. Pain I the in the arse on both counts :)

I have a massive respect for the scousers for continuing the boycott. I think Murdoch has essentially admitted defeat.
I hope everyone also boycotts Talk Sport because it’s run by the festering steaming turd that is Kelvin Mackensie, who is an utter utter ****!!!!

I thought he left years ago when UTV bought it.

I just don’t want to spend tons on the stuff (it’s VERY expensive!!) if massaging the area is just as effective! Any experiences?

    :)

Wife used it whilst and after being pregnant, seems to have worked as she has no stretch marks. But she did use it everyday.

Rugby point was not directed at you. My comment about Suarez was meant to have a smiley attached :)

If rugby had anywhere near the exposure, fans or money that football has there would be lots more incidents like the Non head butt for haters to get excited about. Really can’t understand the comparison between the two.

And I’m not a huge football fan, BTW

Wendyball – meh, the whole thing is FUBARed.
The only ray of sunshine I’ve seen recently was the interview with (I think this was his name) Gus Poyet just now on R5 – nice guy, sounded brighter and more articulate than other managers and English is his second language.
    POSTED 2 HOURS AGO #

Have you listened to the one where he says Suarez didn’t say any thing racist?

All these comparisons to Rugby. Rugby is tiny compared to football. International occasional matches people watch but league rugby what a joke.

Barclays pay around £40 million to sponsor the PL. Probably cost them more to get that much exposure by advertising elsewhere. Eddie Stobart who is the main sponsor of the Rugby league offered to put adverts on the trucks as payment.

They campaigned for to have legal sex with children as young as four. I thought I just heard that on Five live. Hope I heard wrong.
You lot would be happy to work for a company that would represent an organisation like that.

They took money from anybody HH says. Peodophiles, nazis anybody asking as they paid. Just because it’s the Mail doing this it seems she is ok.

I have no idea if this is correct like my last post which included a ? Mark as I was unsure.

Why get upset by it, Will he not be paying about £8 million in tax? Or does anybody know the figure.

Enough to pay for lots of nurses wages. I’m sure movie stars and others get paid more than he does.

    500. 500+ then the 1200 for me. I had a an upgraded processor that was I think another 14mhz giving 28mhz and I think it had 4mb of additional ram. And I think it was a 256mb hard drive that snapped on the side making it even longer.
Chaos Engine co op was ace
    Sensible soccer
Deluxe paint started me of on graphics & the. Something better

Had a frame grabber that snapped on the back that was huge. Gen lock for overlaying graphics on video. A sampler that connected externally. My ex wife an I stopped spending money going out and spent loads on Amiga upgrades. Not software though, The Barras market had every bit of software you wanted for about £1 a disk. Left more cash for all the solid that was smoked ( no skunk in Edinburgh when I lived there)

Anyone remember the fuss about gritters last year?
Wonder if any money that could have been spent on flood prevention is now tied up in council deopts full of shiny new gritters?
Next year we’ll be snowed and iced under and councils will have nothing but dredgers…. Then Pickles will appear and tell off the councils for not doing what he said along and getting a load of gritters.

Millions will be spent on dredging and we will have light rain for years to come :)

A talented guy. Awful way to go.
But how many other poor sods die each day with a needle in their arm society thinks they’re “bloody junkies”. If you are famous death by drugs seems “acceptable”
The death of Heath Ledger was dealt with the same by the media.
Drug addiction is an illness if you’re famous or not. I just feel that the label given to Jo Bloggs who injected himself drunk in a party 5 years ago means he is treated as scum by joe public even though he’s trying to go though rehab.
If he made a movie he’d be classed as “cool”

Maybe but Im pretty sure he didnt steal anybodys bike/car stereo to pay for his drugs.

    Drug addiction is an illness

Is it really, like alcoholism, gambling addiction and obesity or like a proper non self inflicted illness.

When I lived in Edinburgh I knew lots of “bloody junkies”. Society labels them as such because most of them are. No problem with drug use its a personal choice but when you choice affects others I have no sympathy.
