My son (13) uses my wife’s ebike hardtail, no matter what the weather is now we go out almost every weekend. Before he would not be so keen when it was wet and windy. He still likes riding his whyte 13o but the e-bike lets him do what I do on the good bits and keeps doing them a few times each trip thanks to the portable uplift. In no way has the e-bike held back his riding skill development.

I posted this before, I went to 417 and did not use the uplift. I will never do that again as I was finished before the battery. Unfit but not really lazy. And also my e-bike rides like (to me) a DH bike compared to my Pivot, so I won’t have a problem using it with an uplift.

Someone said they were reporting my shit drone video years ago of an unauthorized video of Swinley as he was a pro and I wasn’t :)

I had a flyaway and RTH failure moment on the beach in Scotland, and sold it after realizing how easily a major injury could happen. This was with a DJI Phantom so way over the 249g thing and I had a range extender on the controller that made it obvious I was looking for a drone. About to give up as I had no clue where it could have landed. Somebody asked if I looking for a drone as one had just completed a perfect land next to the path in the grass before the sand.

We had the small DJI a year or so ago, my son had a low-speed crash into a bench. Put the battery back in & tried to launch it and it flew off at full speed, the motor cut out at about 50m and crashed to the ground. That would still have damaged somebody if it had landed on them.

    My bad luck :)

If the pictures you’ve posted tell the full story, then your ‘electrician’ is an idiot.

Just checked the ring camera, unless he stole the van it was a SSEN electrician. He can only have seen what the picture shows and the lamp post.

The cost was not really an issue just the big delay in the charger install. Octopus customer service has been weirdly good. They sent a free charger, but they don’t want it back when the installation is complete. I guessed this was to get her off the phone but they also sent a bunch of roses.

    Slight reroute of the thread.

where is the best place for buying the 3D printer  filament from?

buying 10’at a time seems to bring the cost per KG massively.

I will get a picture of the meter later- wife took the key to work.

So who pays for council street lighting if the are on an un metered connection via a “house”?

    @onzadog
. Thank you for the long reply, I got “thats what he told me” from the wife when asking if he definitely told her we were paying for the power.

So more than possible he was wrong or she heard it wrong.

Waiting for the electricity supplier to get back to the wife now.

The electrician mentioned we are supplying the power and that is not that much of a cost. Developers could do what they wanted in the older days.

Angry wife is more annoyed at the delay in installing of the EV charger.

Service seems like a very good deal- with the brake back working as expected which may not be the case if i do the service?

I bought a handy 3D printed tool that allows one piston at a time to come out. Cleaned them and used the Hunter silicone There was loads of dirt on them. If I get them serviced I now have the tools to look after them now.

All four pistons look ok, I will email Hope about service costs.

I have down zero maintenance in over 4 years ? apart from changing the pads and a re-bleed when running the rear hose through my new frame.

    All advise is gratefully received.

I now agree there was never the extra power cable, I need to stop blaming the dog for everything that goes missing :)

The MSI motherboard has a CPU and RAM overclock/boost option. Previously I was able to boost the CPU from 3-4.7 GHz. I can still boost the RAM but not the CPU. I won’t be touching it now though as all is working fine without the extra boost :)

    @ cougar

    Oh, what a ****. 😃

I have not found any evidence of any dog chewed pc components in the robot vacum.

So it was never installed 😐😐

But moving the huge 4070 into the top slot has fixed the FPS issue, still unable to game boost though.

Many thanks for everyone helping me notice the school- boy error, and I have saved the temp tools links.

I had forgotten how helpful it could be here, it not only full of threads with members arguing they are more left wing than others🤔😐😃

Everyone gets sick, If I had an employee that’d never taken a day off in 5 years, it would ring alarm bells. Especially so if their role involved the company’s money. If they’re coming in when they shouldn’t be, then I’d also be having a quiet word.

Alarm bells ? I had a day off last year and I had to look at the Self Service app online to check when I last had a sick day- 2018. I am a pain in the arse moaning employee. Also overweight, ex big drinker, ex smoker so not claiming to be Mr healthy.

Quick update, cheering on Denmark at the moment.

Robot hoover has picked up the magnetic mesh case filter chewed up but no cable. Everything he xhees ends up in the ecovac. Must been lying, but still sure it was there😐

GPU cables i had sharpie numbers on them and they went back in the correct order.

But GPU is definitely not on the top slot this time- bollocks

Thanks for all the input, I cannot log in to flikr to upload any pics.

I had a huge FPS with a 3060 with a 34″  3440×1440 and the 4070 was doing fine with 5120×1440, But since the case build a big drop, and now unable to boost.

    PC is

    MSI Z390 GAMING EDGE

    I7-9700 3GHz

    4070ti

    32GB Ram

    Samsung g9 49″ monitor.

About 40/60 FPS used to get way over 150 on most circuits. It did drop a bit after the monitor upgrade ( 34″ to 49″ ultra wide) Now it’s below 100 most of the time, occasionally down to sub 60.

I have never used the onboard, it is connected to the graphics card.

I only really use Iracing so not a pro gamer, just a sad old man who pretends to race cars😃but I was on it most days (before broken collarbone) and noticed a big drop in FPS since the case change. There is a performance box that shows FPS, network, CPU. GPU and other bits. The “R” line is for rhe renderer and shows latancy between the CPU and GPU. Its now a red line.

Watched 1 & 2 yesterday, I forgot how amazing physical stunts with real stuntmen were. Also huge wide shots.

Watched them on bluray with the 4k player, excellent quality for a low budget (MM1) film. My son bought me the trilogy from ebay after we watched the 4DX trailer  for the new one with Dune 2. But it is a 15, bollocks.

    the Tina Turner one tonight😜

Chucked my toys out the pram and cancelled my eBay account after 20 years using it.

    Don’t miss it one bit.

I was ready to do this last week, sold an item. Buyer returned as a side socket on a cable tester was faulty. Never used the side so told him to return it.

Had “item out today for delivery” for over a week, then got a message stating buyer had supplied information showing the item had been delivered, and I had to pay £407. Was expecting to repay but wanted the tester back.

Called Ebay ready for a fight, agent thanked me for my 21 years of being on ebay. Told them the issue, they checked and confirmed the item was still out for delivery. Reversed the decision and refunded the £407.

But what I did find was that when a buyer returns your item it is not cover to the sale value. I tired to do a royal mail claim  and I put the listing value in the claim form I had a pop up screen saying max coverage is £100.

“Also a fan of Restless Natives with them on the soundtrack, loved that film when it came out.”

I recently bought the Blu-ray to watch with my son, it has an audio warning about the “language of the time” or similar. I guess it is the bit where they mention going to the Asian retailers.

Of course the auditors are mostly dicks. Unfortunately, so too are many of the security guard jobsworth types who think that a uniform give them the right to bully and assault members of the public who may be dicks, but who are fundamentally harmless dicks.

Or, the security types are just people at their work. Often low-paid work that they probably don’t receive much training and support from.

    Auditing is real bottom-rung content.

Clown I work with thinks they are ace and watches most of the them at night when his wife goes to bed :)

Last week he sent one to me to watch as its a site we visit and we know the security guards (as above low paid). Always helping him out when he forgets to book parking or needs access to a studio, Explains lots about him and I guess the types who enjoy it.

Another one he watches was being chased by “crackheads” and threatened to CS gas them, despite his dislike for the police in his previous uploads, he went to the police station.

I like CEX, we always pop in when passing to check out the Blu-ray section. Surprised at how much they buy things for though. We had a bag of Disney Infinity and Skylander figures that were going to the charity shop as they were in the house doing nothing years, son wanted a new switch game so he forgot about charity. They took about an hour going through them and had few even they did not want. I think it was 120 cash or 140 vouchers which was a big shock.

Would never buy used ear buds from anywhere never mind CEX :)

Pixies were in good form last night at Manchester Albert Hall – they have a new bassist, Emma Richardson who was in Band of Skulls. Played Bossanova / Trompe le Monde plus a few others at the end.

I bumped into an old school friend at the gig – we saw Pixies on the original TLM tour at Manchester GMEX, around 200 yards away from the Albert Hall. A shocking 33 years ago. Swear down Frank Black looks like he stepped out of a time capsule – looks and sounds the same as then

London this Sunday with son, his first indoor gig. Balcony seats, didn’t want to risk a knock back on the door with him being 13. He is mega excited. Despite it not being a Doolittle play through.

Wife is raging though as it’s a school night and we need to get home to Reading after.

Imagine if the whole thing had been an invention of the accuser and that the independent investigation had proven this.

A lot of disappointed posters on here if so, some sounded like they were hoping a sexual assault had taken place.

As an aside, why do folk not like him?

On here? loLZ. Working class lad making a decent living from messing about and enjoying himself..? hmm, I wonder.

Why did Singletrack post the article, click bait special. :)

Why do so many on here add their bitter opinion, life is so unfair when you have a student loan to pay from a less-than-UK average salary. I remember the good old days when only people from nice houses made money from audio-visual output.

In a bubble apparently.  However, I never seen it in the East Lothian courier.  If it ain’t in there it’s fake news.

Last time I read the Courier it was about 5 double pages, possibly more but it was about a year ago so possibly improved.

A dribble of content from each town that is part of EL.This would explain the bubble vision. :)

I just replaced a lost Shimano clip with a cable donut. If you is worried about the secruity of the bolt, gotta be the cheapest fix 🙂

Nice idea, not sure I want to risk it now, what if there is an issue and I need to return them for a refund/warranty :)

    I’m using these:

We have possibly hundreds of these. I bought a plastic box of them, every time my son changed a battery over he would lose at least one. Thread lock is from the RC car repair shed also.

Never commuted on any of the bikes I have bought on C2W. Would never have bought a CX or road bike without it. All have been heavily discounted also before purchase. Wife used the GCI schem to buy me an ebike. Would not have one without the scheme. That is about £6 of sales that probably would never have happened. Somebody must have made profit.
Guilty of trying to take the piss also, had rejected claims for a smart turbo trainer and a kids bike. Fox 38s went through ok though.

But also know quite a few people who have bought their first post childhood bike with the scheme. Does it really matter what it’s called if people are getting about with a car?

Oh, I will check again :) was from memory.

“E-160 RSX pushing towards 27kg” is the weight of the new version of my bike so yes it will way under 70kg for both.

Real life Thule Velospace user. 2 Turbo Levo including 700w battery or 2 e-fatbikes inc 630w battery. Rack rated to 75 kg and has tilt function. Used on a removable towbar. All fine.

That looks good, but I am sure my bike weighs around 45kg  (more with coil shock and cushcore) and the wife’s hard tail is a bit less.

    alexandersupertramp

Cushcore pro in the e-bike, dented a rim a few weeks after buying. Bike and my extra weight to blame. Hopefully, they will help with this. Nothing on the carbon bike with carbon wheels.

Getting them on the rim was easy enough, plastic trowel over the rim, and pulled the cush core up.

Getting the second side of the tyre on was hard work and needed my sons hands to hold down the wheel. Almost gave up.
