Pleased to see some images where both options are in the same shot, because automatic white balance is a thing.
I happened to be in a bike shop recently and they had a display cabinet.

My local ice-cream van plays a rousing rendition of John Philip Sousa’s march called The Liberty Bell.
Although most folk just know it as the Monty Python theme.

Seconded lapierrelady re: Grandad, dad, dentist.
Went down it on Sunday. Much LOLZ.
I’ve heard folk refer to it as “Three Witches” but it’s the same line.

Short answer: No, the weather has not significantly undone any of the “improvements” made to the route.

It is still possible to ride up without putting a foot down, even for a moderately fit forty-something chap.
    If descending:
    (a) Risk of upsetting a few red-socks on the busier summer weekend days since you’ll be going fast.
    (b) Risk of finding the Kankku lot driving up or down. TBF there are very few unsurfaced roads they’re allowed to use.

Coming down? Consider turning off here:
    SD 30075 91018
    exporters.broad.waiters
For a excursion through the trees down to the main road. It has its moments, and still spits you out on the road not far from High Nibthwaite.

One of those motion-activated water sprinklers definitely works.
After about a month you can withdraw the water supply, the cats will have broken their habit and found somewhere else to do their business. They will associate the sprinkler-head with being sprayed on.
Causes no harm to the animals, you will quickly learn to switch it off when you want to tend your garden.
Limitations: Unlikely to work in the winter when the hose freezes, and the ice splits the valve within the sprinkler.

Back when I used to have to deal with the Great Unwashed on a daily basis and they claimed they ‘knew their rights’, I frequently had to remind them they were ignorant of their responsibilities.

Yes, Ty Gwyn Coaching Inn is good as others have mentioned.
Also, Conwy Falls Cafe (LL24 0PN) is a little further out of town but worth travelling to.

Just take the PC away. Or replace the hard drive with an old one.

    This is the correct answer.
Remove the hard disk and lock it in a safe.

Yes, right click and Save Image As works for me, copy and paste also works for images.

You can safely ignore any letters about “Retail Loss Prevention” etc.
They tried it on in court in 2012 and the magistrate found for the defendants, not for DWF.
They haven’t (as far as is known) been back to the courts.

Recently I had to return an Exposure lamp to them because there was condensation behind the lens. The total cost was the postage to them, plus £21 for Exposure to dry the internals, and fit a new seal.
On the one hand, the seal should not have failed.
On the other hand, I was without the lamp for just a week.

Please speak to someone who knows how to deal with events like this.
You have clearly suffered a trauma. Start with your GP, if you don’t get a referral to a specialist then escalate to the practice manager.
I guess there’s is always The Samaritans, 116 123 or text the word SHOUT to 85258.
Is there someone there local to you that you can talk to, or just sit with?

As others have said, do not test without some air moving over the case.
Might be worth checking the thermal conductivity between LED and exterior case.

Kudos for repairing the light, and not having to buy a replacement part.

The smaller PCB looks like the protection circuit for the battery.
You might be able to solder it with a conventional soldering iron, but a small spot-welder would (in theory) be better since it will reduce the amount of heat going in to the battery.

If I was going to attempt that sort of repair, I’d make sure I can throw the battery outside at a moment’s notice in case it decides to let the flames out. 🙂

Sorry to be all boring and reasonable. 😀
Does your friend have any sort of legal cover via house insurance, car insurance, or via a trade union?

This is around 95% of my justification for paying my CyclingUK subscription fee, for the third party public liability cover.

It’s also fun to mention when someone trots out the old “cyclists are not insured” line.

I have tried the smelly granules, they worked for a day or two.
    This definitely works:

I did have to dial down the sensitivity a lot, to stop it from scaring/wetting passers by. Also the unit is a little battery-hungry, but AA batteries are cheap-ish.

    I use one of these:

Does the same job, easy to re-fill from a grease gun.

I used split tubes to make my fattie tubeless, saves using miles of gaffa tape and prevents leaking through the rim tape. There is a little downside but it’s only cosmetic:

    Ghetto Fat Bike tubeless
If you were really keen you could trim that down. Start with a 24″ tube for a 26″ wheel, cut it around the circumference to yield a strip of rubber with a valve in it.

I suspect the red light on the charger is controlled by a comparator looking for the voltage drop when the lamp is charging. So you might have a problem with the lamp.

In the past Exposure’s customer service has been great, but I’ve never needed to contact them over Christmas.

Bad choice on the part of the manufacturer. Put it on an inflated tyre with a Presta valve, so the back pressure makes it switch. Then put it on your target wheel.
Or cut it off and buy a presta-only head.

I did email halfords customer service on August 2nd about what headset they use. They sent me a reply today:

We use the FSA No.11N Headset – 1 1/8″ on the VooDoo Wazoo.

You may be correct neilsonheels, although I don’t feel 100% qualified to give you a definitive answer. Perhaps this may be of assistance:

    http://www.hopetech.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/03/HOPE-HEADSET-FITTING-CHART.pdf

I’ve visited my LBS, and left with what looks like a pair of Hope’s “S.H.I.S. : ZS44/28.6” (see above link, the diagram on page 3, second from the left). They say it’s a common thing with bikes at that end of the market, and a cheap upgrade for reasonably-weatherproof bearings.
The important bit is there are cartridge bearings with suitable seals, the bearings are 36 degree angular contact types, 30mm ID. Suits me because I’m not changing the forks.

The answer seems to be cheap-o no-seal cartridge bearings pressed in to the frame. The steerer tube is 1.125″ straight, and the OD of the bearing is 1.75″. They needed a tiny bit of persuasion to come out of the frame:

    Image of the bearing.

The angled surface doesn’t seem to be important in terms of the mechanical fit between bearing and frame, the inside of the headtube is machined to about 9.5mm deep and the bearing only contacts about 3.4mm of that surface. The bearings seem to be identical top and bottom, and do not have any numbers etched on them.

I’ve had the Wazoo since early March, and I’ve only done about 250 miles on it. It’s still on the poor side for the headset bearings to be goosed so soon.

I’m off the LBS to see about some bearings which keep water out.

Whyte 146 user here. I can confirm the frame number is under the BB. The swingarm has a serial number on a little sticker which is difficult to see when the bike is fully assembled. I can’t say if that is an unusual wear or scuffing pattern or not. The same part of my bike looks like this:

Looks decent, although you’re saving a big climb until towards the end of the ride:

    http://www.bikehike.co.uk/mapview.php?lnk=http://www.theedgecycleworks.com/assets/pdf/Walna%20Scar.gpx

(Same route, but with OS maps goodness and elevation detail)

I’d be tempted to ride it around in the counter-clockwise direction for the descent down to Seathwaite. Climbing up to Walna Scar past Tranearth from Torver is an achievable challenge.

I noticed it had stopped working about the same time. If you delete your existing mapflipper bookmarks, then re-make them from the VeloViewer page here:

    http://veloviewer.com/mapFlipper

    Then they should work again.

    Hope this helps.

With apologies for bringing up an old thread, what you should be looking for is a 650mAh 803030 LiPo battery.
The six digit number is interesting because it seems to define the physical size of the battery, 30mm by 30mm by 8mm.
I’ve had a quick look on ebay and nobody seems to be selling that size battery. I suspect that Lezyne may have had their batteries custom made to that size, or they are buying them from every source possible.
The connector is a JST PHR-2, which is just the plastic part. You need to buy the crimps as well (JST PH 2mm female).
If the batteries were available, you could probably buy a battery with the right connector all ready to go.

Have you talked to your local dealer, or Lezyne yourself about having your light repaired (warranty or not)?
