I never understood that, y’know. We’ve got a large, sunny island over there and a small, damp one over here. We want rid of our undesireables, so we stay here and ship them off. *facepalm*

Congratulations you have just won the internet

thirdly, cyclistsdont pay road tax/rediculouse fule tax which the majority of motorists do

It’s Vehicle excise duty not road tax and the majority of cyclist do pay VED and tax on fuel because the majority of cyclists are also car owners.

    A black Karl Marx, yes.

Karl Marx was always black and he is still alive on a spaceship with Elvis (who is also black) BIG and 2pac (who are both actually white)

A fact borne out by the fact that her bicycle has brakes.

A coaster brake and a front brake no less

They are slaves. Like everyone else who drives, they were born into bondage. Into a prison that you cannot taste or see or touch. A prison for your mind.

It does nothing for your fitness that riding singlespeed doesnt do. When going downhill your leg muscles are more often than not, REacting, not Acting. I’ve watched the heart rate monitor, I train with power on the geared bike I know when effort is going in and when it isn’t.

You are Lance Armstrong and I claim my £5

“Eddy Merckx won the Tour de France in the 80s like six times on a fixed-gear.

    Alright then.

What’s the point of a Fixie?

What is the point of anything?

Firstly they are called fixed gear bikes or simply just fixed.

Secondly they are the most basic for of bicycle transportation and are something like 95% efficient at transferring human effort into forward motion

Thirdly they are very easy to maintain and a very good training tool

Fourthly good for inner city commuting – unless you live somewhere like Sheffield or Halifax etc.

Fifthly there does seem to be some very cute girls on them so why not get your leg over one (a fixed bike that is)?

Sixthly I want a fixed bike but can’t justify one just yet.

I enjoy the drinking, I enjoy the meeting up with friends / family. I enjoy eating until it hurts but I don’t love the commercial aspect.

I also love how I’m going to be in the Antipodes this Christmas.

Did I mention that at all?

Thing is, I bet you don’t!

You are quite right. But almost everything. Except massive steep jump.

I also usually get to the top first or second any way giving me time to drop the necessary 1″ of post to then go and ride what I want.

Still do want a Thomson dropper (with an under the saddle lever)

As for riding on with it still down- that’s underuse not overuse!

Fair point. Why the EXCLAMATION MARK though?!

Northwind – correct; I do not own a dropper.

I ride everything with saddle at full extension. Technical descents, jumps, climbs etc.

I think that the gravity dropper is useful but I do not like the idea of a remote. I have seen lots of people rop there saddle for a short descent that they didn’t need to drop it for. Then continue to ride with the saddle down mashing their pedals.

At least with an under the saddle lever you are forced to think more about when you are going to use the dropper.

You can always manually drop your post as well, so if it’s good enough for 90% of your riding, that’s still good.

This ^^^^ is kind of what I was trying to say with the over use.

Yes it is only my opinion.

I personally think that remote dropper posts are not the best. 1st and foremost – It will encourage over use; subsequently this will lead to bad pedaling. You will drop it for everything when often it is not needed. 2nd – Spent so long finally getting to a point where you can ride with only one lever on your bar why then put another lever on there.

Get it on yer head, has such a good spread that there is not really any need for a light on the bars.

The helmet mount isn’t very good though.

    IMO

The real scandal about sandwiches is that the two halves of a sandwich that you get in a packet aren’t actually the same sandwich, they are from two different sandwiches. Shocking.

The greatest claim any human has ever made in the history of humanity. Possibly?

It is full of amazing restaurants. I have been with work so only really got chance to see a bit of the city in the evenings.

Got told by the locals that the best place for restaurants is Leibnizstraße it is however a long road.

Talk to the locals they are very friendly and helpful.
