Saddleworth moor, the road from saddleworth back to holmfirth, the marsden moor road is further north and doesn’t reach the top of saddleworth moor. I believe it is actually called holmfirth road. Usually ride from holmfirth towards Marsden then over Marsden moor to Saddleworth then from saddleworth ride back towards Holmfirth over said road, once in holmfirth its back to sunny Sheffield for a pint in the Nags Head.

theres loads in the peaks, the climb past the cement factory, the climb out of stoney middleton near calver, calver itself, the climb from bradwell past the bowling green, and the climb from Ilam once you’ve left the manifold valley (we’ll be doing that next weekend weather permitting).

I know holme moss and saddleworth aren’t particularly steep but surely their lengths and altitudes gained do put them in a ‘almost alpine’ (said with a little tounge in cheek) class of climb that aren’t commonly found in the uk. They’re both about twice the length of froggart edge which is quite a long climb in itself.

just found this link after looking up cat 1 climbs uk; suprised that no one has mentioned saddleworth both directions are around 5 – 6 miles long and around 10% gradient average, not the steepest but they are long. No one has mentioned holme moss either which is a killer climb. Also might want to look at the roads around strines and bolsterstone alot are 20% and have shocking road surfaces. Also what about sir william hill road in grindleford that is a steep and long climb. Finally there is the monsal head road and the other side of the valley is the cressbrook hill which is maybe the most unpleasant hill that I have climbed. Sorry for restarting a really old topic but just wanted to stick my ore in.

£four trillion debt any one? borrowing money we have no chance of paying back anyone? its a cumulative effect. labour put us in this position then obviously pulled the wool over every ones eye with quantative easing (or borrowing on top of the massive debt we’ve already accumulated). by the way i didn’t vote tory. i voted bnp (joking) it was UKIP (still joking). tandem jeremy for nick griffins position; i think you’ld make a good politician. 😆

i think bukam got a bit of a unfounded name as being light weight. some of his tunes though melodious were propper bass rippers. i liked origin unknown (andyc & peshay) before they became the ram trilogy. also love ellis dee and johnny jungle and phuture assassins. although they were both a little before my time.

also didn’t alex reece also fall into the melodious light weight dnb catagory?

Each new hour holds new chances for new beginnings, the horizon leans forward offering you space to place new steps of change.

jonny jungle jonny 94 (dillinger mix) this is tearout bass

well its quite clear that i don’t type like that. marc and lard were the best presenters on radio one; we can agree on that. kerrang is still bobbins though and no amount of unreasoned argument can change that fact. you should also look at your anger issues. breathe and count to ten.

to be honest i’m actually a 6 music listener. you would have picked up the fact i’m not a massive fan of r1 if you had actually read what i wrote. x

it wasn’t text type. i agree generally with correct punctuation but to be honest its lazyness and its a mountain bike forum. i know i can’t spell i have always struggled but then i am not an english graduate i am an engineering graduate. i do make alot more effort when writting a report. oh an iain i guess being from derby explains the love/like of kerrang fm! 🙂

oh and kerrang radio? how old are you 14?

    alex222

basically they’re both over hyped by radio 1. no lowe is not the new peel. because peel sounded decidedly unexited by the music he was playing whilst being actually very excited and interested by the music he was playing; whereas i suspect the reverse of this is true for zane lowe.

whilst zane lowe is generally good i that his ‘love’ for all music is nausiating. slip not are utter sh!t£. the broad range of music he plays makes me think that he could possibly be as much an annoying ****t as moyles. infact zane low is generally sh!t£ too. whenever i listen to his normal show i find that i think one in two or less of the songs he plays are worth the air time they recieve. as in 1 good song followed by some utter pish. still both moyles and low are better than real/magic/virgin; pretty much any other commercial radio station.

I like the way it simplifies our energy needs and the numbers so that the science is given in bitesized chunks. I also like how the book is broken down into the basic and then the more technical. Pretty good for free, slightly ironic that you can read it online. Yeah impressed so far.

don’t most foriegn countries have a better opinion of mountain biking then england? if the woods were sold to french or german or austrian companies surely they would use the model that they use over there so it could turn out better for mtb then the current situation.

aren’t most forms of modern music in some way influenced by black music? I mean all forms of rock have their roots in blues. Also jazz etc has influenced both hip hop and other forms of music that require sampling. there literally is no music of white origin out there except posibly opera and modern forms of classical music like the proms. I’m pretty sure they have there own forum to present themselves. basically its a none argument.
