nicko has a PhD in counting if you didn’t know. You won’t beat him on that maths stuff especially if he has a calculator to hand. He can even do the thing so that when you turn the calculator upside down it spells boobless. True Story

surely you’d expect a 1 to 2 hr regional/national circuit race to be faster than a 7hr tdf stage?

    This.

Its harder to stay in groups on the climbs

Are helmets compulsory for banging your head against a wall?

Actually there is a study which tells us the the reduced coeff of friction between a helmet and the wall will lead to the brain rotating up to seven times more then when banging your head against a wall without a helmet. Leading to a little known form of brain damage called brainio over ratatio.

You need to leave work now before the wind changes direction.

    Impossible

Getting a tow off some people who know what they are doing who then subsequently moto pace a tractor is awesome. A bit scary but awesome none the less.

A headwind on a morning commute will never turn into a tail wind on the return leg. that is a scientific fact based on science. fact

I agree. It is likely that the wind has changed direction due to a little thing called sods law

They’re much harder to clean off the bike, dunno why you’d remove them to clean them!

Yes but he wanted to make sure there was no dirt that had seeped between the bead of the tyre and the rim. In essence he scrubed the tyre then took the tyre off and scrubbed the rim

They get a good scrub when I clean the bike to ensure they’re as clean as possible!

A friend of mine lived with a bloke who used to take his tyres off to clean them. He was a complete gooner though.

You really think Gottelieb Daimler’s first car would sell at £9k if he built it today?

No but I bet it would have a better return than 0.000032% At that rate not counting the future value of money how long would it take for this venture to become profitable?

The economies of scale must be reasonable to justify a capital expenditure like that.

    alex222

Yes it’ll beexpensive, but the rewards will justify it.

They struggle to see how it could be cost-effective, even with platinum and gold worth nearly £35 per gram ($1,600 an ounce). An upcoming Nasa mission to return just 60g (two ounces) of material from an asteroid to Earth will cost about $1bn.

Which is a shame because he has some reasonable ideas

that is what i was getting at. though admittedly my post didn’t make it clear.

all the reservoirs round ere are proper full!

    just been round damflask

Talking about reservoirs is standard fair round Sheffield. It’s actually a common ice breaker when approaching women in bars.

Though this may perhaps be why I am single.

Also TN don’t invite southerners up to get our water for free. They have all the money remember. Which can you live without for the longest money or water?

Think Fox are a little behind the game.

yes but sram are awful and avid brakes are worse. Also dropper posts are almost pointless

    In my opinion of course.

I can’t help feeling that mining an asteroid (and so reducing it’s mass) would have some effect on it’s orbit

2 nights of hardly any sleep due to stressing about things

training has helped me sleep during probably the most difficult time in my life. In fact it has become a massive release for all the stress I am currently living through. Though I am still not sleeping great.

oliver1981, I’m would not be so sure, there are lots of bridges held together by preload induced friction grip, ever heard of hsfg?

Is this not a bush though? A component designed to reduce friction?

    alex222

So next question, if I lost 2 stones & wore lycra, would I be quicker??

    Maybe

But more importantly you would be hella KEWL

I would think averaging 25mph plus for extended periods of time is something to do with being in a group as you can share the work etc. Just got back from mallorca and Palma nova to Santa maria is 30 mils approx with a big hill in between two of us averaged 18 miles an hour so took us 1 hour 40 ish. Took 20 mins out of that with a four up so averaged 22 mph and it was actually easier to ride. True story.

    alex222
    Free Member

Yes, and I didn’t say they currently average 60.

Yes but you implied that by halving the speed limit to 30 this would also halve the average speed. WHich is what I was saying I disagree with.

    alex222

I didn’t say that cars could average 30 on

singletrack road road with blind hills and corners

. I was saying that I don’t think the average would be halved.

And yes I have seen cars doing a ton on roads with limits of 60 and 70 (I have myself). As I have started to cycle on the road more and more I have realised that this is a) stupid and dangerous and b)as a yorkshire man not very good on the wallet. Which would suggest that a complete change in attitude is required.

    alex222

It would half the average speed of cars

Cars can average 60 in national zones on country lanes? I think you are mistaken.

Not sure what you two have got against them… you seen what commercially available bars look like?

I have nothing against them; though you must admit they do look a bit poo like’. Yes commercially available bars look bad but I don’t buy or eat them. I am despite the look of these bars contemplating making some.

    Hence why I wrote;

I already looked up the recipe

I know someone that had a very slow speed fall onto the keys in his jeans pocket when riding and broke his thigh bone into 3 pieces as a result.

    Say what?

and you’d stand at the bottom of the multi-storey shouting “Jump!” at the bloke stood at the top?

I don’t think that a man threatening to jump of a building is quite the same as a man bemoaning his wife and child now is it?

    Thanks for your “help”

Sorry but I felt sarcasm was necessary. I already looked up the recipe and I was going to put it up then I realised other people should be capable of using the internet search engine google.

Is there a recipe on line somewhere with quantities and some instructions?

Yes. Why don’t you type ‘home made lentil energy bars’ into google? I wonder if you can find the exact picture that TSY used for his post?

See, just when you thought things couldn’t get any more miserable a complete stranger comes along and gives you a metaphorical knee in the gonads.

I am aware that I have used the word what incorrectly in that sentence and ting.

A and B are correct C would not happen the bushes will always tend to the shorter position shortening the effective i2i of the shock. The trade off compared to angle reducer cups which only slacken the head angle; is that the head angle is slackened as well as the bottom bracket lowered.
