Yes sorry I am getting sidelined.

Well yeah so do a different route? Ride the mtb? Do some other forms of exercise that put less strain on your cardio vascular system?

    alex222

Or do it slower, which IMO is a waste of time.

I thought shake down rides are good for you though. They help your body purge lactic acid caused by hard exercise.

i believe its the name for the phenomenon when you have done a bit more riding/running than usual, and realise that you are fed up of it / losing motivation / not getting noticeably faster… and decide enough’s enough.

I thought it was like post viral fatigue. As in you train hard. Don’t eat right and don’t allow proper recovery; in terms of either shake down exercise or no exercise etc. Then you get caught in the doldrums and it is very difficult to recover from any exercise that you do and get ill easily.

How much for those wheels though? 😀

Very tasty – but surely black ck hubs would have been better aesthetically? (imo)

As for the ‘weak’ or ‘strong’ argument, it’s important to keep the distances in mind. It just depends what scale you want to work at.

    So it begins 😐

the gravitational pull of some forum topics towards some forum members egos is indeed irresistible.

    alex222

Gravity is a weak force comparatively. If you look at magnetism two small objects can overcome the gravitational pull of the earth.

Unless you’re 8 years old I don’t understand why you typed it then. The onion in your tummy was crying?

    you got me.

I am 8 and I thought it was droll – and accept it wasn’t droll

So I apologise that I offended your highly tuned sense of adult humour.

But you have to admit they are ugly and pointless. However I will concede that if any one tries to take the piss (admittedly in an un funny manor) you get to slap them down and then tell the world that its you that knows how to have fun through a grimace.

    handles just like “a bike”

why not get just a bike instead of something that is just like a bike then?

what about the loop over the road. is that riding again? was also good great vie of menwith hill and the wind farm. slightly more ‘natural’ but last time I went about 3 years since the forest works had ruined a lot of the trail

Really? I’m not yet convinced having a girlfriend into all this would be good for me. I like going out on my bike with my mates partly because its ‘my’ time. I know some people like it, just not sure it’d be for me

No not really – clearly I thought 🙂

it’s an illustration/estimate of the cost difference for making a frame in britain vs taiwan/china.

simplified to the point of absurdity – making it a pointless illustration

    however

Orange 5’s are not expensive because they’re made in britain, they’re expensive because people will pay for them

    is correct

    alex222

Thing is, if it’s taking them more than 4 hours to weld up a frame, they’re doing it wrong.

Tell you what, I’m feeling generous, give ‘em a day.

    8 hours x 9 = £72.

Treble it for taxes and costs and things.

    £216.

    hmmmm

i was considering riding to holmfirth on saturday. i would have suggested that maybe i might go with you if you were unsure of the way. then you mentioned the folk festival and that you wanted to go so i am not going to make that offer.

you are doing everything wrong. to fix it you need to everything right even if some of those things are completely contradictory; to sum up the thread succinctly.

used to love them then bought one; had it a while it was pretty good. sold it and got a more mass produce brand and the more mass produced brand rode better; but did require more servicing. so i was kind of turned off them. then i saw an attractive Scottish sweetheart riding one and i liked them again. then i am very fickle and i had been sleeping in a tent an drinking a lot last weekend so my judgement on what makes a good bike and sensible financial decisions has been somewhat impaired by those three factors compounding on each other.

I short they are okay perhaps not the best priced for what they are but attractive females riding them does make them seem more appealing.

Good. I haven’t got the space in my diary to record that you’ve been funny twice.
