Yep, RLJing is wrong. Knock someone over when you’re doing it, and it’s your fault. No-one else’s.

What if you just had your bike serviced and left the shop only the bike service centre did a sub par job/didn’t do it but signed it off brakes then fail etc. Is it your fault then?

So now you are calling me a nob?

[edit] for what its worth I live at the top of a hill that feeds down into part a junction on a main road that is part of the commuter route; for me to sit behind the queue of traffic would mean me hobbling down this hill and it would take me 30 mins to get to the meeting spot for the weekday chaingangs when if I rolled down on the wrong side or on the pavement or I took the journey when not at rush hour would take me less than 2 minutes. Are you really suggesting you would stand behind all the cars and take a tiny step at a time? [/edit]

Oh so that rule is only applicable to chaingangs in Leeds is it? Becauses I seem to remember that happening to me. Yet still the old road men I ride with ride on pavements, wrong side of road, through red lights where applicable. Not all the time, not for instance on the wrong side of the road when there is no traffic and the bike is clearly the slowest road user.

[edit]I would also suggest that your club has something written down about chaigangs and mudguards. Unless of course they’re not a very organisd club? [/edit]

I come from a road club background the sort of things people are talking about just would not be acceptable by the old guard in our club, you’d be asked not to come back.

I come from a road club and all road men I know run red lights, go on pavements go down wrong side of the road when there are ques of traffic. What road club are you from the boring-vicars.c.c or the Jobsworth.c.c?

Sorry but Peaty is 37 and he is consistently getting beaten and has been for the past 3 or so years really. Plus he has been racing at an elite level since 17.

You can have a long career as a cyclist but starting late and becoming an elite is more an exception than a rule.

Also there are exceptions of footballers who started late in their career. Doesn’t make it a general rule though does it.

    Otherwise it’s just another chore.

Yes get her to start with a spot of ironing for a warm up then she can make you a sandwich, then she can clean the pots. Maybe some vacuuming prepare tea pots again.

I’m sure there are more chores that she could do but start her off with the basics and eventually get her onto clearing the gutters, pointing etc.

in many peoples eyes he will never been seen as the greatest cyclist of all time (even though he is),
no he isn’t Eddie Merckx is.

Followed by Hinault, de Vlaeminck, Coppi, and then Bartoli, Le Mond and then Kelly.

Plus Lance is annoying as hell. Can people go to prison for that?

    every one wailing on mtbing?

Football is not harder at sunday league level than xc/dh mtb at wc level.

Conversely riding Cannock chase once on a Sunday morning before drinking seventy five lattes is not harder than premier league football.

To those saying that you can take up mtb late and become an elite racer you are talking rubbish. You couldn’t take up dh racing/xc racing/cycling at 25 and make it to elite level. Just like you can’t take up any sport at 25 and become a professional/elite.

whilst parts of an acid trip are scary. you must persevere; you may one day split space time evenly down the middle; though probably not.

if they are using a cafetiere whilst saying that yes they should be pointed and laughed at. If they pour boiling water into their cafetiere then all is well.

The not boiling thing is pure BS. To make espresso you fire boiling steam through the ground coffee. And to make any kind of coffee in a machine you first must make a shot of espresso. Also stove top espresso makers which are the best thing for making coffee you put on a stove until the water boils through.

So any one saying boiling water spoils the taste should laughed at whilst being pointed at.

Perhaps some of them are just a bit pissed off at having to rebuild their homes and business for the third time in six years?

Blaming the current government for the last 6 years weather and the location of a village that has been there how many years?

First you must look at the coner then you must visualise the corner in your minds eye. Then you must visualise yourself riding through the corner in your minds eye (also). Then when approaching the corner you must close your eyes and re watch what you just visualised. Then open your eyes and you will have traveled through space and time to just on the exit of the corner. Be sure to do a double fist pump at the apex also.

It amazes me when I see a car speed past me cut me up flip me off etc then slam on the breaks and give a sheep a wide birth! Its totally baffling
