Millar is a doper and he could easily have riden off on Saturday; if it wasn’t for the fact he probably had to beg to get on team gb and promise not to ride off in a break because he is no badass. If GB had won no one would have called out Millar as an proven doper now would they. It is sour grapes because a real badman won and no one wanted to play ball understandably as no one wanted to take Cav on in a sprint. Which is a massive shame because Cav is one of those athletes who is probably cursed to never win a gold now.

On the long descent from the top of rosedale chimney bank I had the wind behind me and a spun out my very top gear which I have never done befor. No speed so I am not able to tell you the exact speed but I guess a bit faster than 52:12 can spin.

When man invented the bicycle he reached the peak of his attainments. Here was a machine of precision and balance for the convenience of man. And (unlike subsequent inventions for man’s convenience) the more he used it, the fitter his body became. Here, for once, was a product of man’s brain that was entirely beneficial to those who used it, and of no harm or irritation to others. Progress should have stopped when man invented the bicycle.
