You guys you’re so funny. Abu Qatada was to be extradited to Jordan you know that country in the Middle East. Not Abu Hamza.

They’re only for people with a broader interest in bikes.

Since we last spoke I have discovered I have a passion for breathing heavily whilst having exhaust fumes pumped directly into my lungs, for this reason I think I would love a recumbent. I also sometime would like to breath fresh sea air as well so the 160mm recumbent fat bike seems the perfect do two things in an unbearable fashion bike.

Geetee do you work for Nicolai?

Whilst I am sure they are very good bikes I am not that keen on them and i am also not sure if they would be quite as competitive on price once I get to North America.

Though you are right maybe saving 1lb in frame weight isn’t the be all and end all of bikes and maybe there will be an aluminimu framed bike for half the price that can do all I want.

But I want a carbone badly

I can afford a new one. Plus mine is cracked. To be fair I was thinking of a 160mm travel recumbent with fat tyres

Used on the road bike last night. Only had the lights on the second brightest setting and they were more than bright enough. Excellent spread batteries didn’t go bellow 70% full on a 2 hour ride. There are five brightness settings so I cannot wait to use off road. Hopefully next week.

So far I would say well worth the money. Seem a lot brighter than hope lights that are twice the money.

The rear light was also pretty good.

I’m not getting narked with most of the comments. I was getting stroppy when people tell me that for example tt doesn’t matter when you will be stood up all day. Or what do you want water bottle bosses for. Or you want a dh bike to go there. etc. As opposed to giving some form of balanced comments on the bikes.

I am interested in the experiences people have with the bikes and what they are using them for.

The mtbr owners reviews for the mojo pretty much all say you have to wind the rebound (i think) damping all the way on which then causes the shock to cavitate in full compression; which is why I asked. I am aware the Mojo has water bottle bosses, as does the s works. I was kind of also interested in the idea that 650b wheels could fit in the frame but soem one made a good point that all the geo could get shafted by putting 650b wheels on.

Also the head angle on the Nomad seems pretty steep comparatively.

It is just a shame that the enduro s works are not available in the UK otherwise more people could have spoken about there experiences with said frame.

TT length is irrelevant on a 160mm travel bike that’ll you’ll be stood up on most of the time

    Okay thanks for that.

I am going to be spending a lot of time there and I will not only be riding downhill trails. I want a bike that will allow me to ride up as well. I won’t be able to take two bikes. I don’t want a downhill bike as I would not be able to ride that up anything. 160mm trail bike is pretty much the bike closest to dh without being a dh bike that is also ride able in other situations.

[edit] I also asked if it was true that you needed to put loads of compression on the shock; it wasn’t a statement. [/edit]

If you were in america you could be in a carraige where every single person is carring a concealed weapon and its perfectly legal…

Firstly I am not sure that this is true anywhere in the USA.

Secondly it may be true in some states of the USA but gun laws are not applied in a blanket fashion across the USA (different states have different gun laws)

Thirdly could you not be on a train in th UK where every single passenger is illegally carrying a concealed firearm.

Not sure what the point of what I am saying is but I am saying it none the less.

Nice edit. The crooks was should I buy a bike here before I go or wait until I get there. As I can’t ride some of the bikes as easily over here as I can there. The answer is wait until I get there. Exercise patience in essence.

If you are going to buy a bike based on a list of top tube lengths I think there’s something you’re missing.

Thanks for your input. Much appreciated.

I will obviously test ride one but I can’t do that until I get there an I? So I will have to refrain from buying until next may – Essentially.

TT on the Carbon Covert is 5mm longer than the Ibis

Ah okay. Ibis is out of there. Still not too bothered by the Covert.

So Nomad C or Enduro sworks?

    alex222

Not bothered by Transition; they are even shorter than Ibis.

    cavitate when in full compression

    Huh?

The oil in the shock cavitates as the compression is wound on so much.

If I was interested in a carbon frame to run 650b wheels I would probably wait a year or so for the geometry to settle down.

Fair point that I hadn’t thought of. Scratch the 650b plus point.

why do you want 650B wheels?

Nice to have the option. Not sure that I do ant 650b wheels but should I try them and decide that I like them then if I can put them into my frame than I don’t have to buy a new frame.

Do you not need a DH bike for Whistler?

I am wanting an enduro bike. Not to bothered about the bike park. I will head to Whistler first as I have friends there. I am not sure if I will want to stay there. Whistler is the default location.

The Specialized I looked at, but could only get it as a full bike (thanks Specialized). Seemed an expensive way to buy a bike & ditch pretty much everything but the frame.

You can buy the enduro sworks frame only (including a command post) in Canada/USA

First and foremost, if you need a 160mm bike, then you don’t want a water bottle cage.

I like to ride without a pack unless I am out for more than 4 hours. So a water bottle cage might be nice.

I love how closed minded people can be about music can be.

Some of the most innovative sounds have come from electronic music; yes you could argue that there are drugs associated with the scene. Though I don’t think there are many genres of music that aren’t associated with drugs of some description.

The only sort of music I can think of is not a true genre, conveyor belt pop. It’s probably is clean as a whistle and crap as a pile of well crap.

I’ve had a fair bit of MDMA and I am not depressed. The only conclusion that I can draw from this is that MDMA should most certainly be used to treat depression.
