As per picture linked below John but instead of 30mm dimension mine is 15mm. It’s a cot that’s about 25years old.

2003 A4 1.9TDI 130bhp 6spd manual owner here since 2007 the car has done around 160,000 and gets on average around 52mpg on my daily commute of around 40 miles on main road at approx 60mph. I’ve got cruise control which is class for a commute like mine plus great for long motorway journeys. Cloth seats (black) which in the back have had minimum use due to no kids. I use a seat cover which no doubt has stopped the seats from being trashed from daily use so I’d recommend them. The boot space in an A4 is disappointing in terms of biking & golf (I’d love it to be the same size as my mums old W reg A4 estate) however with the seats folded down it holds a huge amount of gear.
In terms of running costs apart from the twice a year oil change plus usual service & cam belt change it’s been pretty bomb proof with only a few things having gone a wry:

    1) front demister actuator failed which was replaced with a part from a scrappy for €25 and done myself
    2) rear window wiper motor went €100 odd and replaced myself
    3) sensor went on accelerator pedal resulting in complete loss of power – again a good scrappy had the part for €30 and an independent garage replaced for €30
    4) the boot mechanism can be a bit funny when the weather gets very hot and sunny but can be opened with the key. Again a good scrappy will get the part for a relatively small fee

    I think that covers it.

What would be the going rate for someone to design a garden? Size wise we are talking approximately 0.5 acres

Depends on the roof construction. Are you putting an heat(energy) into the building? Typically I wouldn’t bother on the basis that I could retrospectively apply insulation if converting.

There’s no heat going into the building so I’ll just leave it out and I can add the insulation at a later stage if required.

You’ll need planning too. All this is assuming its in England/Wales.

Planning already approved and in Ireland

Strip is generally considered to be easier and cheaper. Raft tends to be for problem ground.

    Cheers!

Yep my plan is to spray and leave for 3-4 weeks, then turn over soil and spray again if necessary leave for another 3 weeks then work the soil to a fine consistency then sow seed. Hoping that a small tractor could get in to rotavate it

    It’s a 20litre knapsack sprayer I’ll be using.

I’ve got around 2000 square metres to spray some hard paths and some ‘soft’ areas.
I think I should be aiming for an application rate of 1.5 – 6 l/ha which according to the knapsack spray info is 50ml per 2litres of water.
The product is Roundup Biactive. The soft area is what I hope to have as a lawn. We bought an unfinished house site and there’s never been any work done in the garden.

    Cheers lads.
Its for the garden which has high banking with trees on three sides and a river bank as well so strimming between trees and clearing bramble etc initially.

Had a Nissan Note as a hire car for 5 days and thought it was a great car. I’m 6’5″ and tree was plenty of room behind me, I did about 150 odd miles and averaged at 45mpg for mainly around town and some motorway miles.

3 knee ops on the same knee here. First two were cartilage and the last was cartilage plus ACL reconstruction using hamstring graft. ACL was done through BUPA at the Jonathan Webb Clinic in Bristol. Post op physio was excellent and I worked bloody hard in the gym at the exercises given to me to recover the strength and stability back to try and get back on to a rugby pitch. It took 6 months before I was allowed to run but I’m pretty sure I was doing light work on a static bike within a few weeks. I did play rugby again but if I’m honest I never trusted it 100% and still don’t if I’m jumping off a fence or such like.
This was all before I took up biking and it never really gave me any trouble doing this. I still suffer from a lack of mobility which means I can’t go on to a full squat position and I’m totally barred from running as it’s just bone on bone.
I’m not a great example as I’ve virtually no cartilage in the left knee so suffer from a small bit of pain and swelling after playing golf!
The post op exercises will be essentially the same if you choose not to do the op and the only way to get a stable knee again is hard work and commitment to put in the hours doing the strength and proprioception programmes .

Regarding Lawes – I take it its because the maul was technically finished as the two Irish players broke away and formed a new ruck that penalty was given as if it was still a maul Lawes could have ‘tackled’a nd stayed where he was?

Both alignments done at same place (tyre fitters) – I might go to a specialist place. It’s 2003 Audi A4 Estate. Premium tyres fitted and pressures checked regularly.

It’s the outside of the left rear.

The rears weren’t replaced at the same time so a mismatch could be the case. It was running good pre front tyre change but to be honest I didn’t keep an eye in the rears

Ah, forgot wiper motor. Rear wiper went a bit haywire (the skoosher leaks onto the motor and rots the control) so I just unplugged it.

Designer of this should hang his head, the skoosher goes through the electrical assembly…mine was happily going on its own like a dog wagging it’s tail before I bit the bullet and replaced it.

03 Audi A4 1.9tdi here on 150,000 miles only things that have gone have been wiper motors on front and rear. Servicing every 10k or so but like others I’m mainly driving on main roads at 80-100kph to work.
Offside headlight bulbs used to go all the time but noticed that the plastic clamp between the headlight cluster and the chassis had sheared so the light was vibrating a lot – common enough apparently and got replacement clamp things off eBay and been perfect since.

Having done my back in on the Thursday before Christmas the last 3 weeks have been very lazy with numerous days doing nothing. Today will be a sportathon on the couch with golf, cricket, rugby and some NFL – it’s pouring rain outside which helps take away some of the guilt but I’m getting very fed up with doing nothing!
