We started out daughter on solids at 4.5-5 months, just baby rice and puréed fruit to start. The night feeds stopped at 6-7 months. She’s now 9 months and is on 3 solid meals and 3 formula bottles. The meals are porridge with fruit then basically mashed versions of what we eat mince & Tatties, stew, fish, roast chicken etc all with sweet potato, carrots, peas, lentils etc. no recipe books for us just use the web. We have used the pouches from Ella’s kitchen and ALDIs own and found them to be very handy on the odd occasion – we got loads in the bargain section of tesco recently at 50% off.

Bag is far too old, always a mistake to use an old (month or more opened) bag of plaster or similar. Will go off like a rocket, crack and fall off. Probably need to PVA the existing plaster/painted surfaces you are blending onto as well (assuming its skimmed/painted), but not familiar with ‘patching plaster’.

Cheers Jim – would you recommend easifil or something else? Don’t particularly want to buy a big bag of stuff for a small repair…

We have got an Electrolux one and really like it. Very easy to clean, heats up extremely fast and quick to boil. Very controllable and like the ability to control to zones in one so you can place your roasting down and get even heat all over when making gravy. Stir frying isn’t a problem as when you remove the pan to toss veg ROTC the zone turns off but as soon as you place back on it automatically starts again.

Whats the rest of the bench made of ?

Nothing yet but plan is to mount 100×100 angle on wall at each end then have a 3″ box L frame at the centre which is bolted to floor and wall. Was going to mount a tool board.

Mines about 27″ deep. Four boards joined together and planed flat by hand with a Stanley no5.

Goldfish how did you join yours?

There’s no evidence of further water coming out so I’m happy until a plumber can come round to fix it. Unless I’ve done harm by creating vacuum?

Tonup – thanks for the kind offer but I’m in Ireland so will cost an arm and a leg to make the call.

Singlesman – no ones gone near the tank so maybe could be a gasket.

Finn Russell deserved a yellow but what is he meant to do, teleport out if the way? How does a guy stop or prevent it in that situation? According to the law you can’t ‘tap’ the guy in the air…

    (i) Tackling the jumper in the air.
A player must not tackle nor tap, push or pull the foot or feet of an opponent jumping for the ball in a lineout or in open play.
    Sanction: Penalty kick

What about this…this is extremely dangerous too…

thegreatape-I got town & country seat cover for my car when I got it and they have been the business. Not a single mark on the fabric seats under the covers – the only complaint is that accessing lever on side of seat is restricted due to fabric but that’s a very small complaint. I think I ordered from an eBay store.

I got a machine washable neoprene type boot liner from ALDI about 4-5 years ago and it’s still going strong after getting dogs abuse from logs, bikes, moving house, dirty boots etc I think it was about £7 ish and could be trimmed to size if you were bothered but I just left it as it was.

All sorted now – instead of exporting and importing via the option bar i just dragged and it seemed to work 😕

I’ve only ever used drag and drop but I did just do an Export successfully. reading again, is it the import you are having problems with?

Aye it seems to be. I can see the photos in ‘Last Import’ but not in the Library.

Is that different to exporting to a stick or folder then importing from that stick or folder? If so Ive already done that.

Sounds like a messy job. Is it worth the effort in terms of paint saving? I’ve 40 odd metres squared to do and looking for the laziest solution!

2003 Audi A4 Estate 1.9TDI 130PD. From the inboard computer for the last 56hrs of driving at an average of 35mph my mpg has been 47.7mpg. With bikes in the roof on a long run it can reduce by approx 5mpg.

You can never have too many bibs – the TommeeTippee ones are the best. Burts bees stuff is nice too and it goes a long way (nappie rash cream etc). A good sling would be good one for when the baby is a few months old.

Also agree with the food thing but doesn’t seem like a gift to me – just something that a friend should do.

Also a Panasonic bread maker. Mrs blobby wanted one but I thought we’d use it a couple of times and it’s be forgotten about, but now use it all the time and make some lovely breads (a 50/50 rye and white is current favourite) and doughs.

Same here. Great bit of kit.

Got a Braun Trizone Electric Toothbrush for Christmas- I was a sceptic but it is like going to the dentist.

As an aside what thickness of insulation is the norm or max these days as I might ‘upgrade’ the loft insulation?

Good on you Gary. I got hit a few years ago on Kilmarnock Road in Shawlands and after coming to a couple of guys wound down the window and had a right good laugh…in fairness the woman who nailed me hung around and when asked who she was by the police, she replied (in a strong Glaswegian accent) “Ahm the wan that hit him” 🙂

I’ve got a Kenwood Chef and it’s a great bit of kit. I think the Kitchen Aid is used for TV as it is quieter than the Kenwood (money for product placement aside). The only gripe I have with the Kenwood is it’s a bit tricky to release the bowl from the base.

Bibs – lots of them. The TommeeTippee ones are pretty good. A wee bit more expensive but I think they were worth it.
The isofix base for the car seat saves a lot of hassle.
Vests from your local supermarket short and long sleeved.
As others have said a freezer packed with meals is a life saver.
If breast feeding breast pads and if there is trouble latching on nipple shields.
Proper clothing for newborns is a hassle so baby grows are the way forward (think Sainsburys ones are pretty good).
Baby grows that have poppers on the front – any ones with poppers on the back are the devil.

I subscribe to a dozen or so music blogs and i listen to perhaps 8 hours of podcasts (Music and others) at work every day through headphones, got mates in the music industry -dj’s/producers so i get regular updates on stuff they are doing or music they are excited about and i listen to 6music and a few foreign online radio stations. Also browse a lot on Soundcloud/mixcloud.
Never used spotify or stuff like that,

somafunk any chance you could list out a few of the music podcasts please?

Can he weld already? If so, where did he learn & what did he weld? Any quals or courses?
If he can’t weld, surely it’s an apprenticeship type affair – which is a little different than a ‘professional’ CV?
Either way, a decent covering letter will show that he’s not a muppet and will help get him in the door if the CV is too light I’d have thought

Aye he can weld but no solid qualification but applied for a job centre type government funded course. Already got his covering letter more or less sorted just trying to give a good account of working at Halfords.
