On and off I’ll use a foam roller which has helped particularly with back, hip flexor and itb. I’ve used a tennis ball for shoulder release on the advice of my physio which again helped a lot.

I started running last April after losing weight (6.5stones) and my first park run was a 26.5mins. I have now got it down to 21.50 and will be trying for a sub 20.

Issue is that I am also training for a couple of ultra marathons so pace isnt the priority at the moment but the speed will come as the training helps.

As already said time on feet with hill reps, tempo runs and intervals coupled with longer slower runs should also help. Anything is possible though.

Great work shifting 6.5 stone and starting to do the ultra marathons…outstanding!

I got one as a rental recently and the visibility was very poor due to the twin boot doors and the pillars are huge.

Painted the floor and didn’t polish and it’s worked out great. It was cheapish paint too – Johnstone’s was the brand. Only damage was when an extremely heavy set of shelving was dragged across it.

In my limited non medically trained opinion it sounds like you need to substantially strengthen your glutes, hamstring and quads on your left side.

I’ve got a titanium wedding ring its been on my finger for 9 years 2 days and 23 hours so far . looks as good as when it first went on.
Durability, simplicity of design and not spending a huge wedge of cash on essentially a metal band were the factors that informed my choice. Plus a thread on here where some medic said no worries we’ll get it off easily in a+e if we need to.

8 years 5months for me and I’ve still got all my fingers…she’s taken everything else as her own though!

thanks drlex – both iphones used are set to record videos at 1080p at 30fps and slo-mo at 720p at 240fps. I’ll change the settings and upload to iphoto and see if I get the same issues.

Not directly about the “geography 6” but definitely true that each union gets £50k per player selected fir the tour-not sure about legitimate call ups post departure date.

Recently bought a set of G3 bars from Micks Garage for a trip home – pretty damn good for the money and noticed no difference with my old Atera bars except for a few extra minutes fitting them. Box wise I’ve a box that belonged to my folks, a Jetbag, made in West Germany! Noise wise no noticeable increase or decrease when compared to the Ateras. The Ateras are available for sale but I live in Ireland which could be an issue with postage.

I’ve got some decent kitchen knives but through some cack handedness there are a few tiny chips out of the blade edge – what’s the best way to get rid of these? Is it to aggressively run them through a sharpener like that AnySharpener Pro above?

I’ve had 3 knee surgeries – 2 cartilage arthroscopy and 1 ACL + cartilage – on the first 2 I didn’t do what was asked of me post op and the post op care wasn’t great and I suffered a lot because of that. However after the 3rd op, done in Bristol, I did everything that was asked of me by the physio and the post op care was class. The difference this made was huge. I was on a single crutch walking out of hospital walking heel to toe and off the single crutch in 2 weeks I think.
My advice is that it is imperative to do the post op exercises and the preop exercises until you’re blue in the face. Things like leg extensions with a towel under your knee, glute work, hamstring strengthening and proprioception work etc.
Having said all that my knee has gradually got worse over the last few years resulting in a trip for an MRI which revealed a good few nasties…bakers cyst, loose bone floating, another large meniscus tear, high grade tear of my replacement ACL, wear to bones due to lack of cartilage, calcification etc etc I’m heading to a sports injury clinic in Dublin at the end of April for a consultation but am totally unsure whether or not to go for another ACL as I don’t know if I can face the rehab or the time not being able to lift my kids etc.

The couple who were walking with their little dog on the beach on Saturday, which proceeded to take a dump about 5 paces from where me and my wee girl were playing. I’m sure they noticed and tried to ignore it as they kept walking so caught up with them and asked if they were going to clean up the crap, cue the “oh we never noticed, the bags are in the car, there’s no need to get aggressive etc.” Selfish tools…they even had a kid in a sling so I’d imagine if someone else had done the same to them they’d react the same?

Another Panasonic SD – 255 user here had it for around 9 years and overall very very happy with it.
Have any other users replaced the kneading blade? Ours is getting stuck either in the loaf or stuck to the spindle causing the bread to tear when removing?
