You could do the coastal path towards crail and just keep going til you're done and get a train or lift back?

Its a bending moment calculation on a shaft with different loads and reactions on it, trying to set the value to zero which effectively means the shaft is locked in position on te rhs.

Thanks for the heads up on the goal seek.

So you dont want it to actually equal 0

Can be between -0.01 and 0.01.

Are you using excel? What version are you using?

Yeah using Excel, 2000 SR-1 Standard.

If the cell required to get to as close to zero as possible contains a formula, in this case SUM(F54:BD54), will this affect the goal seek? Which I now have, thanks Kenny!

Oh yeah and the top bold figure is in Cell C1 and the bottom is in E54…

    Albanach

That didn’t quite work out how I planned it but essentially the figure -0.007701032 is affected by changing the value in bold at the top, this cell is a sum of certain values.

Just now I have to manually change the UDL figure at the top to get the bold figure at the bottom to be as close to 0 as possible.

    hope this helps explain

I have had a pair of Loake brogues for **** years bought in Austin Reed – expensive shoes but they’ve lasted 10 years so far with only one set of new soles for £35 odd quid. Some here http://www.jamesandjames.com/htmlfiles/shoefiles/loake/lk202.htm for £85.

Oh yeah dark socks (grey, black, blue or green for day wear as well) will look better as well.

Swap them for a standard pair of brogues which have been well worn in prior to the day? In my opinion they look better for day wear anyway :-)

Unfortunately spending £780 on the bike then adding mudguards/racks/panniers would just be too much I reckon. The bike will be used for commuting 90% of the time and the other 10% either light touring or ‘training’.

As for the apology Druidh some people/fuds can be funny about folk asking for recommendations. Oh yeah and the Manitou forks I bought off you months ago are going grand on herself’s bike, cheers!

Unfortunately no Flight 01s available in my size (62cm) and also I reckon am too heavy (17.5 stone) for the wheels to take plus this will go up when using panniers. I have been in and looked at a Trek 7.3Fx and also a Merida S’Presso and Speeder.

    Anymore ideas welcome :-)

If you head to Costco just now they’ve got 6 (i think) Global Knives for around £130 with block. If you’re not a member/card holder and live in Glasgow I could help you.

Afraid I am quite heavy – 17.5 stone…so maybe a weld wouldn’t be the best idea!?

Silverfish wouldn’t warranty it due to “not enough seat post in the seat tube” and a crash replacement was too expensive.

    Clubber you got mail!

If you’re 18 soon enough then get a job as a glass collector with a view to becoming a barman-easy money and a good laugh. Failing that work in a restaurant as a waiter or kitchen porter??

I am just about to do the very same on my Vanilla R forks which are in need of an oil change and possibly new seals. I searched on Google and ordered some of this having read this thread on this forum and a couple of other places online
Just out of interest where you getting your seals from?

I got a few Globals in the last 18 months and delighted with them, got the most recent carving knife set from here[/url].

Got a Shinkansen MinoSharp Water Sharpener as well as I don’t have the knack or the confidence for the proper steel sharpener, and it does the job perfectly. Agree with ourmaninthenorth about the dishwasher effect – wrecks them.

I’ve got an orange powdercoat 07 Heckler and love it. I was too tight and couldn’t wait what they were telling me to fork out for the anodised version.

Good, strong frame which is just under 30lbs all built up so does me for all my riding which is cross country but I am pretty heavy at 17.5 Stone but you could do it all on this bike.

I have TALAS forks which I have been very happy with but very little to compare to, enoy the adjustable travel and lockout for long climbs and a standard Fox Float rear shock which again I have been impressed with, don’t notice bobbing when I am climbing or trundling along but again not much to compare it to. My mate just got a Stumpjumper with an RP23 and I was very impressed with the lockout option etc.
