    Now – that is a problem! :(

It is only going to p*** you off and make you look at it while riding, inevitability you will end up crashing and dying……

Burn them now before it’s too late!

    Expensive.

True! – Not many 120mm 29er forks out there though :(

Looks good that – Not a patch on my Solaris though ;)

    Needs some colour! :)

    Are they 100mm forks?

White it is then great mate ;)

Fox float 34s internally lowered to 120mm

Does doing this keep the axle to crown length the same?

If it does and only limits travel by 20mm, i think the front end would be too high…………..

The Solaris is actually designed around a 100mm fork.

    Mmm, decisions, decisions…………

Due to unforeseen circumstances, im on the market for suspension forks for the Solaris now, so the carbon rigid’s may only be on another month or so :) Want 120mm travel, tapered steerer and 15 / 20mm bolt thru

    Any advise?

I was all set to get white forks, but can’t decide now between white and black :(

    Please advise STW’s :)

I’m not sure if I should do 1×10 or 2×10

Depends on what riding you will be doing on it mate?

I’ve been running 1 x 9 on my SC Nomad for years now and get up most climbs.

    On the Cotic:

I opted for 1 x 10 because overall look is much neater.

Im running a 11-36 cassette with a 34T chainring, this should get me up trail centre climbs (will need to wait til a week Saturday to find out! )

Already tried on cycle paths around my local area and get plenty speed! – So for me an excellent range of gears :)

Thanks to all for positive replies.

quentinfarquar – Got the Pauls chain keeper from Jenson USA.

It cost me £46.99, then had to pay £6.09 VAT and £8 Royal Mail International handling fee.

Not cheap, but nicely made and managed to set it up running 1 x 10 with no rubbing :-)

    Cheers :-)

Anyone got and fitted / used the forks that On-One were selling? ( for £299.99 )

Can you actually wind them down to 120mm like U-Turn’s?

The fly boys have put them up to £399.99 now! :(

    UPDATE:

Went for an XL / XXL POC Trabec Race in the end!

Excellent fit and feel, without a doubt the most well made and finished off helmet i’ve ever seen.

Still unsure of the huge price tag……………………..

    :)

    Ah ok.

I thought yours were 120’s – Your tt has a decent slope on it, so thats good :)

Folk do say 100mm forks are fine on the Solaris and it is designed around that, but im used to 160mm!

Think i will go with 120 – Eventually!

Cheers – Yours does look sick! :)

I will add pics of mine this time next wk ;)

oxym0r0n – What travel are those forks mate?

Im waiting on my green Solaris – due at my LBS on Friday! :)

Gonna run it with Exotic carbon rigids temporarily –

Firstly to see how i get on with it off-road, before splashing out £600 ish on sus forks, as im used to my SC Nomad 2, so it’s gonna be totally different to that i know!

Secondly, want the 2013 RS Revelation 120’s and they aint out yet,

    Cheers,

    Alan.

Might be better just fitting a bigger single chainring? – 36 – 40 Tooth and save youself the hassle? – providing you could manage the ups with that?

Im pretty sure you can run 32 / 48 and yes, you should just need a front mech and shifter.

    If it’s a M770 Chainset they come with 22.32.44T

I was told the internal part of 9 & 10 speed chains are the same, it’s juat the link plates on the sides that are thinner, so yes your 10 speed chain will work on 9 speed rings :)

Conti RQ, bit to grippy/draggy gor the back?

Don’t find that at all with mine, i run mine at 40 PSI, guess it depends a lot on what pressure you run them at right enough……………..

Absolutely horrible tyres – hate them!

Made a big mistake fitting them to my bike just before a long weekend trip to Dalbeattie / Kirroughtree / Mabie / Ae last year.

The compound was too hard and they slipped on everything roots, rocks and mud.

The SC (Soft Compund?) might be better, but i’d avoid the other compound at all costs – IMO!

Continental Rubber Queen Black Chilli all the way – God himself made these :)

I just bought brakes off them. Service is very good and excellent delivery time.

I have been unfortunate with my brake issue – Nothing to do with Rose.

I had the exact same problem with my 2012 Xt’s!

I got mine from Rose Bikes, Germany.

Sent it back under warranty and they sent it back with a brand new caliper – no explanation as to the fault?

I fitted the new caliper and headed off to Glentress for a run.

Took it into Alpine bikes to get it bled.

The Mechanic called me into the workshop and showed me that a tiny bit of fluid was seeping out where the two piece caliper joins together!

Only sent that one back to Rose last week, so no word yet.

I have also heard that the crimping machine that attaches the Banjo fitting to the hoses in the Shimano factory was faulty and they had lots of warranty issues with that –

Guess this could also cause fluid to get onto your pads, depending on the angle your hose meets your caliper?

    Alan.

    Tasso –

    That doesn’t sound promising! :(

Was it a Large you tried on?

Guess it doesn’t matter really, if the Feature fitted and the POC is narrower, im guessing it won’t fit :(

you have to try it to make sure it fits you

My LBS are getting one in for me to try before i buy.

A Large Giro Feature i tried on today fitted perfectly, but POC seem to be better quality.

Also the Giro has 12 vents, the POC 16 :) – So an extra 4 vents = only another £90 – Bargain! ;)

    I have a Giant Seek 1 Hybird:

I removed the Deore Octalink chainset, weighed it at 1450g’s!

Swapped it for an XT at 850g’s – 600g’s is a fair bit :)

    +1 for:

    look like corrective orthopedic shoes

Does it really matter what they look like though?

Performance on the bike is surely the main thing – IMO :)

I got the last pair! :D

Hope they can be wound down to 120mm!

It does say that in the description, if not as above Ebay them and make £’s!

So, do you think the 140mm could be run at the lowest setting all the time then?

    Making them like 120’s?

As in it will lower the front end and reduce axle to crown length?

    alandavidpetrie79

    Can you make 140mm Rev’s 120mm?

Does it just limit the amount of travel or adjust the axle to crown length?

I plan to put 120mm on my Cotic Solaris when it arrives :)
