    If i had the cash….

I’d go for Superstar carbon AM rims built on CK hubs, available on their website for £1100.

    This swayed it for me:

We are so confident in the reliability of our carbon rims that we have extended our crash replacement policy to completely rebuild your wheel with new spokes and nipples for half the retail price of a new rim.

I’d spend the rest on a nice holiday ?

    ???UPDATE 2???

Norco have agreed to give me a 2016 frame as a replacement! ?

    Pity it’s not orange.

But Hope have just announced they are to add orange bits to there lineup….

    NOTE:

They have added a mech / chain guide mount exactly where mine broke…..

    Brilliant.

Proof that there is no need for fancy carbon frames & disc brakes….

Used to run HD F&R & loved them.

My most recent bike came with HD rear / MM (Magic Mary) front – felt perfect the 2 rides I had with them.

The fit of the bike is almost perfect for me too

    Congratulations!

On the other hand, your lid doesn’t match your ride:

    FAIL!

    That’s nonsense.

I’d be back to the shop & asking them to fit a new crank arm for you.

If it came loose so soon, it clearly not been tightened properly in the first place.

    I love it.

I think you have got an exceptional frame

    ???UPDATE???

Got a phone call from Evans today.

    It’s definitely a warranty job.

They have offered me their very last full bike as a replacement.

As much as I’d like to accept it, I feel I’ve kinda lost faith in the frame & the fact they have changed the carbon layup on the 2016 version makes me want to hold out for that.

    So many unknowns atm tho:

Would they give me a 2016 bike for the same price?

When are they likely to get the new stock?

Most importantly, is the new one gonna be Orange???

    My boy @ 3yrs old.

I certainly wouldn’t have attempted it at that age….

Evans have said they think it’s a warranty job, but are waiting to hear back from Norco.

They said this could take 4 – 6 weeks!

Not ideal given the time of year.

BTW: I made a mistake in an earlier post, I actually only had it 13 days when it happened.

How do I respond to this now?

Trying to cheer myself up ATM.

Laughed when I looked back on this, forgot my mate took this pic earlier in the day.

    Feeling the heat….

I dropped it off this afternoon at Evans in Glasgow. They are doing a warranty assessment in the morning.

Thanks, but Specialized had a recall on those, so best avoid.

Just gonna change the brakes, good excuse for somit shiny! :D

Spacer off and tighten to the correct torque.

    Done & it still wobbles….

Think I need one of these:

It’s quite possible that you may be able to swap the hose and bleed nipple positions

When I first realised there was a clearance issue, I thought this.

After contacting Hope, they said it wasn’t possible….

    BTW:

    It’s Hope V Twin brakes I’ve got.

So cable to just under the stem, then hydraulic hose to the caliper.

    alandavidpetrie79

Is it the hose attachment on the caliper that’s causing the problem

    Yes.

The hose on the standard calipers runs nicely in the middle of the chainstay.

On the Hope’s, the hose is attached to the caliper a good 10 – 15mm outboard.

Is it not easier just to move your cleats on your shoes?

    Done this too.

I guess I could butcher the sole a bit to get it to move further over….

    Move the caliper hose?

Not sure if this is possible.

Will add a pic tomorrow that should show my problem better.

Possibly a couple of pedal washers I’m thinking….

Hmm, what are you selling to make space for this ? We’re the same size

I sold a 2Souls Quarterhorse to buy this.

Fist proper ride at Comrie Croft today, bike felt amazing! – unbelievably plush.

Climbed really well, the CS on the rear shock makes a big difference.

Got it weighed too – 29lbs, bang on, not bad for an XL.

Where are you based? – You are welcome to try mine for size.

Evans in Glasgow had a few Sights in store when I collected mine.

If you want the same model as me in XL, Evans only have one left…..

    Cheers :D

It did indeed come with HD / MM rubber.

Can’t say for sure, but it has felt fine the few miles I’ve done so far.

The MM has a very deep, chunky tread!

Gonna leave it as is just now, see how it goes….
