An elephant is the only animal with four knees and is unable to jump.
Also owls ears are at different heights so they can judge where a sound came from more accurately.

Spank do some brown grips, let me see if I can find them.

Maybe not quite in the epicentre but close enough to be dodging shrapnel.
It’s not too bad though, twenty mile round trip to work through, around and over some lovely landmarks.

A good handbuilt wheel is hard to beat, and as someone pointed out it’s not unusual to wait several weeks for spokes for some of the straight pull/flat bladed wheels that are around, especially on very new wheelsets.

Large Spesh and Giro is usually up to 63cm so you might be out of luck, Fox Fluxs seem pretty roomy but can’t remember the sizing on those.

Happiness 8/10, twins on the way so lots going on.
Job 7/10, bike shop work is good but after promotion seem to end up dealing with all the problems.
Money 3/10, bike shop and high salary seem to be incompatible.

Cheers RichPenny but think that sounds a bit more complicated than I was hoping for.
    Elektricks not really my strongpoint.

I got one last weekend so it’s not trolling, just a quick question, anyone had any luck using a mains adaptor so you can use it sans car sometimes?

    Apparently Andy has no preference.

Park do a specific tool but normally people use pliers or something similar to bend discs back, same as truing a wheel, do it slowly.
Or ride with it warped, mine are a bit bent and I’d rather ride than play around with them.

Cocktails seems the only logical progression.

Charge Spoon at the moment, ti or steel and various colours on various bikes, plus very reasonable price.

Even if he wears a suit to work he can easily ride in, if he does it 2/3 times a week it will make a difference.
He can take stuff to change into on the other days when he could easily walk in.
But unless he actually wants to do it then there’s not much you can do.

Fair enough Gingerflash but most of the bikes he’ll be looking at have bottle bosses and would be fine, Kona, Cannondale, Scott, Felt etc all have bosses and since he’s looking for using it for quite a few different purposes I don’t think anything will be perfect, CX bike seems like the best compromise.

Odd coloured bike, On-one with slightly niche gearing system, think you should do fine…..

Touring bike would be a good option but it will give you less choices, lots of people do go for cx bikes as they are quite good jack of all trades.
Quite impressed with the Scott CX bikes, if you do go for a touring bike then Dawes and Cannondale seem the most prolific.

I’m running a similair set up with a bash ring and a front mech.
Just adjust the front mech and you will have no issues, couldn’t be bothered forking out for retention device.

One is currently going on Ebay for just over a hundred, it’s in the states and still has about eight hours to go.
£130 or so would seem alright to me.

Quite a few companies have upped prices in the last week, look for some 2009 bikes to be going up as well.

Pregnancy pillow thing, few other pillows and get her to sleep on her left hand side, something to do with arteries or something means sleeping on her left hand side should be the most comfortable.
Wife pregnant with twins, 30 wks and she sleeps better than I do…..

It has a nice pensive quality about it, looks like it’s about to bucket it down and everyone is just pausing before bombing down some singletrack.
Damn seems like an age since I last managed to get out.

Not too bad, lots of White Russians and then a fine Cuban.
Bit ropey this morning but may manage to put some new bits on my bike this evening.
