Thanks for the heads up, trying to work out if a flexible noodle will work for me before spending out…

I don’t think the geometry has much effect on the road, try a faster rear like a conti x-king and make sure your top gear is big enough.

I have the ODI remote but I don’t use lock on grips, I don’t mind the lever but the noodle is an awkward fit with my hope brake. Like the look of the southpaw if it isn’t expensive.

The big charities want a lot of money for a place, if you have a cause you personally support then speak to them and they may have a much more reasonable fundraising target.

I have a large BFe frame to sell if you are interested, current generation in gritstone/black.

The Dartmoor ride is useful – I could do that on a family holiday, would I regret only having a rigid SS with me though? Need to buy the OS map or make do with Garmin edge 500 navigation?

Some good stuff this month I thought, review section never seems to cover much i’d buy though.

Mercededes Benz world in Surrey show all of the daytime races live in their cinema gratis, went a few times last year. Helps if you live nearby though.

Managed to get it for £3.90 posted on ebay and it is here already so pretty handy. In retrospect I might have been more comfortable in something like a Ronhill running bib and get someone local to print it or get iron-ons, would be a bit dearer though.

Yes like in your picture nealy because that is a vest, but that type of child seat is obvious whereas the Weeride with an akak sat behind is not as igm points out.

    Something like this? http://www.mojo.co.uk/pbc.html

I would have thought most coaches would do it for a lot less though.

Lots of the military byways are gravel, hard to make an epic route though. The bikemonger is planning a gravel event maybe speak to him for ideas.

The hope is universal but the cheaper option is a reducer crown race from crc for less than £4. Cheapest zero stack headset available when I was buying was the Gusset by the way.

Better if you sign up and post yourself on the mole board as Wednesday numbers are low and if you state your intention then at least riders will keep you posted.

Three men in a boat and Three men on the bummel. Anything by Arthur Conan Doyle.

I mainly read free stuff…doesn’t help you to spend £20.

We went a few years ago and hated it, if I was to go again it would be Sharm and a daytrip to the pyramids. Luxor was part fake and part rubbish in my opinion, the most famous sites are made of concrete.

Since I did mine the other week the answer to the 1/4 turn question is that it’s a self extracting bolt, the first movement takes the tension off of the bolt then the second forces the crank away from the axle. Or that was my impression from actually doing it.

That planter looks good is it just glued together?

Why is your bird box so low?

    akak

No it’s just a bolt…but it should be at 40nm which is quite hard. Put them on myself but have not had to remove mine yet though.

Bike-discount generally, especially for the slx shifters. If you are going to get a narrow-wide and a clutch you should at least try with no guide on both bikes imo.

I would say Peaslake myself, the overflow carpark at Swinley is already overflowed on weekends.

I live in between the 2 and the options are not very good. The Wey navigation (not weatherproof) followed by the Basingstoke canal gets you close.

Protection all the way, X-king 2.2 on the back and either of the others on the front.

You could buy the current mag and read about it?

I don’t think they make the camera you want, get the cheapest crop sensor dslr in the same system as your main camera and keep it in a handlebar bag?

There is a Banshee forum on mtbr which you may find useful? If your wheel could run as 15mm that would give you a wider choice.

If you want a more obscure tip, don’t sit “down” to lower the seat, sit in the direction of the seat tube.

Oh I get it now thanks – they “flick out” faster due to being shorter, so when the long pawls are trailing in the middle of the ramp they will already engage. Clever.

How does having 2 pawls shorter make a difference?

I thought it was just me, how is it different to just removing them?

I store mine vertically and compressed, does not seem to be a problem.

Can you get the guide part any lower onto the chain? that was the fix that worked for me.

I have used the shifter mount with 2011 X7, I don’t see why it wouldn’t work with x5. If you wanted to buy one I still have it round somewhere…

You can buy the clarks measuring thing for £6 then get the shoes from the clarks website freepost. It’s the leather ones that are expensive, the canvas ones are cheaper.

If I did change from ESI it would be Renthal kevlar lock-ons but I wouldn’t expect them to be more comfortable – just more durable.

I think you will want a softer spring. I have a fork for sale with the stock spring (I am 93kg) – email in profile if you are interested.

I had it done before xmas with Optical Express, I didn’t find them pushy and a consultation costs nothing. A referral can save you money on the treatment, also waiting for them to call you puts you in a good position to haggle. When you see the advertised “treatment from…” prices bear in mind you have to pay per unit of prescription and astigmatism – higher corrections cost more.

I’ve had the BC barons tubeless for 6 months on Flows. The rear has always lost air from somewhere at a slow puncture rate, not enough to worry about. Front has been perfect (I weighed the 2 I received and put the heavier on the front, about a 10% difference between them).

I’m in the same situation as the OP, planning to go back to 2x but I can’t see it working on the left as it is currently tucked right under the brake and there will be no space for the gear paddles. I guess it will be okay on the right but completely horizontal to minimise damage risk.
