It’s specialized, could be a prototype?

Times quite encouraging I could have ridden with the top 3 if I’d been there. Would have been maybe top third of open but 66 starters must have been hectic so I’m glad I didn’t enter that.

Lovely conditions today – I managed 4th in fun men. Didn’t have a good enough start position to do much better but it was my first xc so quite content.

Iirc they updated the design last year to make them last longer. The new ones are less wide?

I suffered in Tioga, I generally like the drills but they can make life more difficult on a bad day.

The workouts suggest that the aero position makes it more difficult to work in the sweet spot range, but I actually find it easier on the drops. Presumably there is something to learn about the bike setup from that but I don’t really understand it, there is already a significant seat-to-bar drop.

We have stayed here http://www.cornishcottageholidays.co.uk/falmouth-cottages/falmouth/oak/ well presented but a bit of a backward location, also no log fire.

Also Porthtowan one year but that property isn’t let any more, nice relaxed place we would have gone back.

Emailing trainerroad should get you a definite answer about your old turbo, or you could get the model they like which is the Kurt kinetic road machine. Or maybe you have already justified the cost of a real power meter 🙂

What TINAS says, if you train with virtual power now the price point of power meters will go down next year…

I don’t think most people include 8ft drops in their do it all category…so yes the Rune would be a better option.

You will never find an xl demo bike. Since it is 20″ like your current frame can you compare geo on paper to get an idea?

On week 5 of sweet spot 1, this is the first time I have done any proper training, going well I think.

I also need a bigger top gear, 52 ring, 25mm tyre, bodge a mtb 11t onto the cassette? Not really sure yet.

The trek Farley is a pretty thing. Did you have a race?

Couldn’t you have rotated the bars so that some of the backsweep was upswept?

    That’s tidy thanks!

I thought that you might have started in the stone circle over the road. Is there a marker post at the far end?

Giffgaff as long as you have o2 coverage. The adult filter is automatic unless you unlock by proving age.

It was a great event that I would recommended to anyone. A few places had a line choice but no signs which I would have expected, maybe that was intended. Were exposure doing demo or hire lights? There was no public info about them that I saw, might encourage more entries.

Sounds a bit mad to me wouldn’t you just end up with a load of pace groups going round? Instead of counting laps manually you could log them on a spreadsheet and automatically record the time, then you would know who has won?

I’ve been looking at the same wheelset as the OP but have the same concerns as Northwind really. The spoke counts are odd although I think it is easy enough to get spare SP spokes eg from Germany.

Another wide and light alu rim is this one from Ryde http://www.justridingalong.com/parts/wheel-parts/rims/trace-enduro-rim.html

Can you get any discount on Specialised wheels? If you have to pay full whack it won’t end up much cheaper then a light bicycle carbon build.

I’ve been watching Amazon prime videos. One month left on my subscription if anyone has tips for what is good on there.

I’m sure that someone posted on here that they had an early years book being released in October? I thought I had posted in the thread but can I find it?

Yes the plans are based around getting stronger, then you just ride like you normally would. I have some and incorporate the exercises into ad hoc strength work but I have never formally followed a program as it doesn’t fit easily into my schedule.

There is/was a free starter program for an email sign up. He does email literally every day but I actually still read them as there are often useful tips.

My k-edge ones have a plastic insert so not an issue there I think.

    Have a look at http://www.ffordes.com/Commission_Sales

Email them the list and if they are willing to take it then you will get a fair price for it.

It doesn’t really have any internals to swap. If you look in my forum history my spares/ repair post is still for sale and has working remote if that helps?

Not had the weight loss but suspected wheat intolerance going back a few years. Tested negative for everything the doc could think of. Currently back on wheat but 100% off oats which is both easier and more successful.

Cheapest core i3 laptop for £280 (asus). Nothing wrong with it unless you want a bigger than 15 inch screen.

Do you have a local tri club? Coached sessions can be very cheap/free.

A snakeskin magic mary is listed as 835g which is the same as one of my Barons, so not that heavy? http://www.schwalbe.com/gb/offroad-reader/magic-mary.html

Isn’t any tyre with more volume going to help on the roots? If you expect the weights to compare with a 26″ tyre though you will end up with something weaker in my view.

You should bear in mind that the Baron may not be very Baron like in its next incarnation. It’s been on my mind as I am long term shopping for a 650b wheelset, but there are lots of tyres I have never tried (because the Baron up front never disappointed, maybe it drags but you can’t notice it without a comparison).

The prototype is called the baron projekt 2.4 but it isn’t in production yet it seems. I think you can get a butcher which is similar?

What I have noticed about the chalk is that its okay until multiple riders drag mud onto it. So midweek or early is okay. Roots is roots though.

A round is how many fit in the toaster. One slice is hardly worth the effort to make.
