My new garage ( part of extension currently being built) will be ready in 6 weeks or so. going to build a workbench, this thread has given me serious vice lust, spending a lot of time looking at them on eBay.

Best thing I ever did was advanced motorcycle training with the police (twice). It’s not about knee- down heroism, it’s about learning how to read the road and make the correct decisions. Obviously it’s all taught at sensible speeds but it translates to spirited driving / riding too.

If people flash me after a perfectly legitimate overtake I tend to slow down to about 10mph for a mile or so to p*ss them off. Idiots.

it’s why I ride motorbikes. Get too wound up by dawdling knobbers when I’m in the car, on the bike they barely register I’m past that quick.

Friday night – went to watch Hells Bells (Supeb AC/DC tribute band). Saturday stayed in bed til 1.00pm I was that hungover.

Went looking at bathroom stuff for new extension currently being built Saturday afternoon..

Saturday night went to Sister and brother in law’s 40th wedding anniversary. I drove as still a tad tender, wife hammered the red wine like there’s no tomorrow, which was entertaining.

Today did family stuff this morning, then too out my Triumph Street Triple R for a blast over to Abergavenny, then ate curry and drank wine while watching Rossi return to form in the MotoGP.

HONC next weekend so less booze!!

I’ve used Campag for 20-odd years, since I got my first road bike. The 10 year old Chorus and Record kit I have still works perfectly, with no noticeable bagginess developing over the years.

However I got a new CX bike last year with a SRAM group set and I love it. If I were to build up a new road frame I’d struggle to choose between Campag and SRAM.

Been with them since they first set up in the early 90’s ( I was originally a Midland Bank customer). Although I work for one of their competitors I’d recommend them – very customer focused organisation.

I know it’s not 10″, but I’ve recently bought myself an iPad mini (we have a fair few Apple products in the house and have inadvertently got drawn into their ecosystem) and really rate it, the 7.9″ screen is big enough for most things, and I prefer it to my kids’ iPads, it’s much lighter and hence easier to use one handed.

For older folk who may not be as strong as they were ( plus possibly arthritis etc) I reckon light weight would be a big benefit, plus as has been said, Apple’s locked-down ness, while a negative to many, is probably a boon to the less tech- savvy.

Yep, 3 bottles a week for me on average, plus the occasional beer. Can’t beat washing some nice food down with a decent wine.

Very nice indeed. CX bikes truly rock.

Just hoping I won’t be too jealous of my neighbour’s new carbon CX bike…… 😉

Clippers on No.1 for head, chest, stomach and scrotal area.

Veet for the back (administered by the wife while children giggle in background).

    Both every 3-4 weeks.

Stops me looking like a baboon.

47 here. Not overjoyed about it but it’s a damn sight better then the alternative. As long as you’re at least reasonably happy with your lot there’s not too much point about getting stressed about getting older.

    Happy 40th btw! 🙂

Newquay Steam Beer. Used to work in a hotal bar in the late ’80s that sold it, used to take a few bottles home after a shift to neck at home before bed.

Born in Bristol, have always lived within 3 miles of where I was born. Guess it suits me here 🙂

I’m British. (mix of English, Scots, and Manx).

I’ve actually no idea how much tax I pay.

    Ditto. Really not that interested.

As someone said above, why look at your gross income, just worry about the net. My salary’s ok, not huge by any stretch of the imagination, but my net is enough to fund a lifestyle I’m happy / contented with so I’m not really that fussed over how much tax / NI I pay. Sure a small % may be funding scummers to smoke weed all day in their council flats, but a lot more will be spent on educating my kids and sorting us out if we need healthcare.

    Fuss about nothing.

Sorry, saw this at the time but forgot to reply!

Still got the Tuono, plus now a rather nice Triumph Street Triple R.

More than happy to lead another ride over in Wales, just let me know when suits and I’ll see if I’m free.

Surely the reason that UKIP are getting the support they are is down to the absolute failure of the mainstream parties (Tories / Labour) to even pretend to have relevance to / give a rat’s ar$e about the majority of the electorate?

Ozzy signed my jeans outside the back of the Bristol Colston Hall after a gig in the early ’80s. My mum later washed them – I never forgave her.

Shortly after the Oz caressed my thigh with a marker pen the group I was with thought it would be great craic to rock and overturn the car Ozzy had just got in to get away. We started rocking it then Sharon leant out of the window and told us to **** off in no uncertain terms. We did, meek-faced.

10 years ago I’d have said grotty little back street pubs that always stank of stale beer and stale fag smoke. Lovely.

Sadly they don’t exist anymore 🙁

When I looked into this years ago (mid 90’s) I was told that as a general rule of thumb, as you look out the back of your house the fence on the left is your responsibility.

Can’t comment on the Speed, but I have a 2012 (pre facelift) Street R and it really does live up to the hype – a stunning road bike and amazingly torquey for a relatively small engine. Paid £6.5k for mine new which I consider a real bargain.

    It’s simple:

You’ve got a new mate coming into your life, it’s just that they’re a lot smaller than you and will need a lot of your help and guidance for the first few years.

    It’ll be cool.

There is a mosque about 400 metres from my house and a fairly large asian population. Very little (if any) racial tension. I suspect this isn’t the norm though.
