I,m so tempted by one of these. Lovely. How is the sizing for you I,m 5’11” not sure about a med or large, have sat on a large and it felt about right.

I’m 5’11” as well, with a 32″ inside leg. I have a large and it’s spot on. Sat on a med and it felt too cramped.

There’s a road descent in Bath where I regularly overtake cars.

I’ve overtaken a few motorbikes as well, really seems to piss them off*

    * As a motorcyclist myself if a cyclist ever overtook me I’d be seriously upset and give myself a good talking to.

I spent the first 18 years of my life living on Tyndalls Park Road. Lovely part of town but I don’t miss it.

Use public transport in Bristol? No chance, unbelievably unreliable and stupidly expensive. I walk or cycle everywhere, car(s) only get used on occasional evenings and weekends.

SMax is good but depending on bike sizes, quantity and how you pack them, the height isn’t ideal…width and length is braw but height is short if you don’t want to remove wheels and seats from anything larger than 18″ to store upright. Other than that, ours has been superb.

Indeed. The answer is: Ford Galaxy. Had ours nearly two years now (2.0 TDCi) and it’s superb, does all the family stuff and with the seats down has van-like bike carrying ability.

People who walk slowly and take up too much of the pavement when I’m walking to work. Out of the f***ing way, it’s not a funeral processions FFS!

People who are unable to stop talking. Ever. I have no need to know every minute detail about your humdrum existence. Shut. Up.

I regularly use faster payments online to transfer cash between my two current a/c’s (Lloyds and First Direct). They are always instantaneous, when I log out of one a/c and go into the other the cash is always there.

    Hey Giler!

Should be ok, if in doubt check your online banking – it’ll show if they’re cleared funds, or give your bank a call – they can confirm as well.

I find about 50psi to work best for me; fast on road, reasonable grip offroad (for a cx tyre…) and few punctures. I only weigh 11 stone though.

    Baths = silly string

Not if you put your hand under your arse to ensure you are above the plimsoll line.

Can get a dead hand if you take too long though.

I’ve got the 46cm width on my ‘cross bike. They feel very wide on the road, but are great off-road, loads of leverage.

Mine turned up today – they passed the takethemoutoftheboxandgazeatthemaddoringly test swimmingly 🙂

I measured the internal width at 19mm so they should be ok running cx tyres tubeless.

Just need the cycle2work voucher to arrive in the post so I can get a bike to put them on…

Got my 9 year old daughter a bmx (she already has a mountain bike). We spent an hour in the park this afternoon taking turns on it practicing manuals. Both crap, more practice needed. Going to take her round the new Leigh Woods trails on it tomorrow morning if it’s dry, reckon it’ll work quite well on them.

A 24mm rim isn’t going to be great with a CX tyre – what tyre you planning?

Not sure yet, but assuming an inside width of c.20mm they should work ok with a 32-35mm tyre according to Sheldon Brown. We shall see……

It’s not just about career though is it? That just provides the cash for the fun stuff. (I appreciate people who enter the professions and have a passion for what they do may feel differently. To me it’s all about earning enough cash to have an enjoyable life).

When my dad hit 80 ( 7 years ago, he died at the end of October) he did a bit of a speech at the family gathering.

Said something about me being a success. Kind of strange as never considered myself as such, but quite nice to hear that from your old man nonetheless. I have never had any kind of aspirations at all, so given that, things have turned out surprisingly quite well 🙂

Cheers for the heads up – just ordered some for my disc-ed up cx bike that’ll be arriving next month. OE wheels will have road tyres on, these cx tyres, probably tubeless.

Been taking cod liver oil for about 10 years. My knees certainly seem to feel better for it (particularly when pushing big gears in cold weather).

    Maris Pipers.

    Boil for about 10 mins.

Heat up olive oil with Italian herbs added.

Fluff spuds up in pan and add to oil. Coat spuds completely in oil.

Roast for 40-60 mins, turning once. Great result every time.

Er, which sounds to me like exactly the point I was making…

Nope, you were suggesting it was something to be ashamed of.

It’s not, as long as you have moved on as you’ve got older and (hopefully) wiser.

FWIW I spent much of my 20’s not knowing where I was or pretty much what my name was, luckily never needed assistance though and always weaved my way home somehow.
and that’s exactly hate the sort of thing people should be ashamed of. But they ain’t.

Not remotely ashamed, a normal part of growing up.

Though I concede that may be a (particularly British?) issue in itself.
