I have just set mine up and found it reasonably easy. Didn’t bother with kit as how much kit I take varies on the ride. Also sat down but only because it was easier and felt if stood up it would end up with too much sag as weight thrown to the front.

Looked at the fox tech centre and used the air pressure as a starting point then set sag from there.

Go ride, adjust if needed. I think you are putting too much thought into it.

Rebound was easy as well, just set to 6 and went a rode. Adjusted a little bit but only really notice a big difference if I move the dial more than 2 clicks either way.

Saw you at scott hall roundabout yesterday. Was going to shout then thought best just concentrate on getting round this roundabout first.

    Yoshimi, nice!

They are exactly the same geometry. I did have a spec chart of all the frames but cannot find it?

Basic difference is in how the build the frame and yours has some fancy tubing.

When I went to test I was also looking at the malt 4 but after speaking with them the difference was basically the malt frame costs £100 more due to the fancy tubing and about 100g or so less in weight. So the choice really is do you want it in black or white.

First proper ride and very happy! Great fun! Fast on singletrack, climbs amazingly. Only downside is a slightly low bottom bracket.

    mranger, get it bought!

I also used crazy-legs suggestion. If I was aiming fora director or someone like that then I would tend to find a middle manager or lower on linkedin and ask for their email address to find the pattern.

Reception sometimes don’t give emails of senior management but are less wary if they are lower down the food chain. If they still resist, say can I send it to you to pass on? they sometimes fall for that.

I WAS in recruitment for a while. I am no longer in recruitment. I have paid my dues, reformed and no longer part of the selling of flesh for a quick buck. I feel I had to say this so no-one thought I was a professional stalker.

In google ask for the exact phrase of “@company.url” (usually the end of the email) but you are not wanting the web address therefore -www.

so for O2.com you do the following.

    “@o2.com”-www.

You should get someones address from there then your sorted. Alternative is linkedin.com someone usualyl has their email in their profile to attract friends. Ignore them and just find out the pattern.

I guess you are in sales?

Wireless network and phone not playing this morning so no pictures of the bike in the wild at the moment. Have to do with a kitchen shot

I am 6ft 1″ and on a 19″. That gives me about a fists worth between top tube and the jewels

    Is that the alu version?

Yep, the 853 wasn’t in my size and to be honest I wanted fast and light. On a quick ride around the block I can say it definitely meets that criteria.

Looking out at the window this morning to thick fog it may not be the best photo weather?

will do! Just needs to be somewhere more scenic than my kitchen

Quick blast round some trails on the way into work and take some then.

just received mine today! Fettled and ready to ride tomorrow.

full xt and fox f100rls. Looks sweet and very light! Bloke at work who signed for it couldn’t believe there was a mountain bike in the box. Will report back with pictures tomorrow.

Frame looks great, could do a lot worse for the price.

I tried 3 for a mobile phone contract but couldnt get signal at my house so wanted to cancel (as part of the 30 day clause) but customer service kept saying I wasn’t allowed to.

Emailed the CEO and had someone from the office of the ceo call me back the next day to apologise and tell me they would ensure that my cancellation all goes through.

Definatelty worth it, even if nothing happens it will make you feel better!

there is a plugin for google earth that overlays OS maps over the relevant area at either 1:50 or 1:25. It can be done legally (i.e following OS data guidelines) as you are using their API.

Problem is that it will only serve a selected amount of tiles then it is used up for that day. Hence no link to it but google is your friend :D

Part of the reason that incidental deaths are going down is because non-motorised road users are increasingly marginalised and effectively driven off the roads.

    proof?

According to Transport for London they reckon over 80% rise in cyclists in the last year. Although London is an exeption due to congestion charges and overcrowded commuter trains.

I also have read that generally in the rest of the country there is an increase in cycling as both a commute to work and a recreational hobby.

decided to go with fox in the end. Seems like the only reason to go rockshox is if you cannot be bothered to maintain them as no-one said that rockshox were a better ride? Bike is now in the post!

Also, I may never be able to afford another pair of fox forks again as bought seperate they do seem a tad on the expensive side. Rockshox seem more affordable and I could pick up a Reba race from merlin for not a huge amount more than a service and some new stanchions from mojo (which I won’t need as I will maintain it every 30 seconds  )

Got a rab top bag. weighs in at about 400g! Only got down on the top half but as you will be sleeping (ha thats a joke) in a small stream at the omm then no need for down on the bottom.

Theory being as you compress down when lying on it then it doesn’t insulate from below anyway so can save weight by not including it.

Take it on general camping as well and is great but the lack of a zip (save weight) is a bit annoying at times.

just watched the fight, cheers for the link. Great site!

Khan was like a different fighter! Kept all the best bits but dropped the show. Was a shame about the cut but the clash was pretty much 50/50.

It meant that Barrera should have been a bit more dangerous (never back a mexican or cuban boxer into a corner) as he would have known he could not go 12 rounds so had to hit Khan for a knockout but he still couldn’t get close. Was always on the defensive.

the World Champions belt is not awarded for dancing and speed-ball b*tch-slapping

Actually that is exactly how a belt is won. You do realise boxing is scored on points? The more b*tch slapping the more points.

This isn’t some superheavyweight toe to toe weight division?

You could be right, he could have known about the situ but wanted to have a go at a good position in the race, he messed up that chance therefore why continue when his time spent would be more valuable at home?

Why continue a race with no chance of winning when the wife is going through a tough time and needs her husband?

Then again, maybe he just wants to get home to watch amir khan fight tonight?

A man goes to support his wife in a time of need. why is that lame?

Would you just leave you wife/girlfriend to it when they need you? Or are you single and lonely people?

interesting to see that no rockshox owners even claim that they are a smoother ride. Seems like a given that fox are a better ride.

So the only decision is can I be bothered with the maintanence of the fox?

    ajf

So the big question therefore seems black or white forks with a team tig sl bike? :D

    ajf
    Free Member

It seems I cannot really go wrong with either. Both have pro’s and cons.Fox lighter and maybe plusher but higher maintanence? RS bit more robust but with a bit of weight and comfort penalty to it?

So why’s everyone flogging fox forks then?

problem with glucosamine is much of the things it is meant to help will heal over time anyway. I have used it and been quite convinced with the benefits but have stopped a while ago and not had any problems that glucosamine would help since.

I also think recent evidence suggests that it is just as effective as a placebo.

But as it is so cheap if there is something that may be solved with glucosamaine I would take it again.

Cheapest place I found was Wilkinsons.

Where: Leeds, Roundhay to Leeds Uni. Either down Roundhay road or down harrogate road and up to the Uni.

When the nights get a touch lighter and the trail becomes less muddy round my end it will be meanwood trail, harewood, wike, roundhay.

What: either an old green Haro Escape or currently silver 1981 peugeot road bike, soon to be black Rock Lobster Tig Team.

Asked to downgrade the forks on the ltd edition and is a no go.

Like for like apart from different forks extra £100ish so just above budget.

Upgrading standard RL to similar XT groupset means still slightly more expensive, plus not as nice finishing kit and crossride wheels instead of 717’s?

edit: sorry just realised you want to track your own route. Probably no help to you at all then. Sure you can plot routes in google maps though.

in fact you can, google maps> my maps> create new map.

Stever, done a few adventure races with her competing. I would like to say it was my partner slowing me down, but I would be lying. She is now racing for Saab Salomon Outdoors team.

I_Ache, I know what you mean but it is hard to compete with the p0rn0 swimmers. Kinda feel the thread has peaked a bit too early with them two.

Another adventure racer here. She professes to be a mountain biker as well so maybe doesn’t fit the obscure sports category but hey its a girl in bra so what else do you need.
