Oh the bunny hop is for sure a push in a rotary kind way

    Hey Jedi

So Ok pushing it is. but the push does become a pull as your weight moves rearward and your arms become straight

    Especially the slower your going.

It's what i've always done but hadn't broken it down in the same way, but the description of pushing is way betterer IMO. But you already knew that :-)
    Thanks Jedi

There is still upto 5 metres of snow in place most of the plateau is still covered, it's still FULL winter conditions! ice axe and crampons are a must. We had snow at glen level this week and it was lying down to about 500 metres.

It would be a serious undertaking for an unexperienced winter mountaineer.

Sounds Dramatic i know but it's real up there.

Ah beat me to it Jedi, but….. once you've pushed the bars forward and shifted rearward and your arms are fully extended are you not pulling backwards on the bars? :D
Just to be an arse (me that is)

Ok so i've been thinking, Pushing? so by pushing the bars forward/down and adding a correctly timed weight shift rearwards…..You achieve the drop technique?

OK Jedi i'm fully aware of your abilities but explain pushing the bars please.

Ha "push down" c'mon that's just cruel

So Yeah don't pull up, pull back. On the run in up in the ready position start with a slight weight shift forward, then back(not up) till your arms are straight continue your back shift so you can build up pressure through your palms, as this happens imagine you've just fell over on ice (feet flying forwards from underneath you)
DO NOT LET YOUR ARMS BEND UNTIL YOU WANT THE FRONT WHEEL TO RETURN TO EARTH.

Practice all this on the flat many many times (top tip put a squeaky dog toy on the floor this becomes the lip of the drop, your aiming not to squeak with your front and to squeak with your rear before or as the front touches down.

    Remember back not up

I agree your not in a bad position for the slope your on, i assume that your body weight moved to suck up the transition?

The fastest way would be to suck up the lip and pump the down slope and then zoom away at a million miles an hour

Hey, for your info there still be a lot of white stuff in them there hills.

routes like Carn ban mor would probably not be a goer.

    plenty other stuff though

    Hey

Re POPPA, I'd say weight your outside arm

Here's something else to try roll/rotate your bars forward a tad this will pull you forward on said velo.

There is NOT a no mountainbiking rule on the hill. there are some very good trails to be ridden (in a responsible manner). I'll argue TJ, that on a bike you do less damage than on foot and i don't think the red sock brigade are gonna give up the Cairngorms

Any hoo Amplebrew come along on the Local ride out (wed night) we meet at Bothy bikes around 6ish

    Maybe see you

TJ Carn ban mor is perfectly ridable up and down, there's a less bumpy way if your in the know too.
