Apparently my reply was too banterous for some to handle so got deleted. Anyway all I’m saying is there is two sides to every opinion and some of you would be shocked how many people are only following the rules because it’s easier than questioning them… sets a pretty dangerous precedent.

Just because you see 80 percent of people following the rules doesnt mean they all agree with them.

Me me me, yes. I suppose you’re going to stop driving a car because of the air pollution it contributes to, which causes 4.2 million excess deaths per year according to the WHO?

I’m not following it, the risk is so low no so I’m not ruining my life any longer for it.

If it’s desperate to be outside afterwards, my girlfriend takes her cat outside once per day on a lead and harness. At first i thought it was ridiculous, but since he’s accident prone and has already been run over once before and had its tail removed, this was the best solution to stop him having to stay indoors all day every day.

He loves wearing it, might be worth a thought for the rehabilitation part as you can be in control of it outside.

If you never knew offset was a thing, would you notice if it was “wrong”?

They did give him extra clothing, they spent ages putting things under him and then wrapped some kind of shelter around him. It’s no good stripping off and sitting there for 4 hours in freezing conditions mostly naked when the injured party is relying completely on you to get the emergency services to your precise location and to manage the situation. 4 people getting hypothermia would make no sense and since the guy got carried off the mountain still conscious obviously the extra clothing you speak of wasnt crucial to his survival.

Oh yeah, tons of those around at the mo! 😂 “…for the dry” was obviously foreign language.

Ive got a knobblier tyre on the front of my gravel bike!

Just did the test and a clear negative result – as I was expecting. I’m pleased really because my job involves semi regular visits to hospitals and health centres including “red” sites, so it shows that the measures they have in place are effective.

Im now using Tyre Yogurt exclusively on my bikes, it’s non latex so life of the tyre stuff and it actually works up to a 6mm drill. So far anyway! Plus it’s a UK company to boot. Winner in my book

Can i eat it if i get hungry on the trail?

I think you need to try and do a better job of photographing said visitors and the vehicle they arrive in – although i’m interested in you mentioning some kind of grievance behind the scenes which for obvious reasons you aren’t expanding on. Surely this alone gives the police a bit more meat on the bones to do some digging around?

Mines the imperial college/IPSOS Mori one. It did say not everyone who gets invited will actually get a kit sent to them.

A service kit is something you buy, it doesnt come with the bike. Usually contains new foam rings, crush washers, lower leg oil, fork grease and probably new dust wipers. You should always change the crush washers if the fork has them, never re use them. If you’re buying just the oil you aren’t servicing the forks properly.

I’ve had the letter last week, how long did the test take to come and was it hard to use? I’ve never done a finger prick thing before.

I seriously doubt I’ve had it unless I’ve been one of the few asymptomatic cases.

I would change them, cheap as chips. You cant ever really clean them as thoroughly as you think so you might be putting dirt and grit right back where you dont want. You get one with the service kits anyway so why not change it?

Probably the 2.5wt – RS used to specify 3wt for the lowers until they went to 0w-30. 0w-30 is a really thin engine oil so the lightest weight WPL i would say would be most suitable.

Honestly though if you have some engine oil sitting about just stick that in the lowers oil is just for lubrication.

Should have gone for Code RSC a much better brake.

Lack of direct mount chainrings so limiting the smallest ring you can fit to 32t.

1x works pretty much as good as it needs to and compared to a gearbox it weighs nothing. What’s to be gained with a gearbox? I never understood them.

My point is if you put aside the rules, what harm has actually been caused by this action of Danny’s? Out in a rural forest the chances of infecting anyone else are slim to none as has always been said by the scientists, you can put aside the whole argument of any example he may be setting because his job isnt to set an example it’s to ride bikes. If others choose to see what he does and try and emulate it that’s their choice and Danny isnt responsible for that.

Put the pitchforks away and get a life.

What a bunch of snowflakes- bet none of you have left the house for three months. I suggest you get some fresh air and put your high horses away while you’re on.

I’m sure hes been in constant contact with his sponsors. They have a business to run and so does he at the end of the day. I’ve been debating travelling to Scotland to do some riding, I’m not sure why its different there really, the virus doesnt recognise lines on a map so what’s the issue? If the locals dont want to catch the virus they only need stay 2m apart from any visitor.

Who cares about Scotlands “laws” anyway, they’re only different to ours as a political point scoring mission by the SNP.

The 5 mile thing is just advisory anyway and it’s out in the open air where the scientists have said transmission is really low. What’s the harm if he was socially distancing while doing it?

OEM sintered if you can get them, refresh the fluid if it’s old, clean the rotor, get a bigger/radiator rotor, get on the brakes less, eat fewer pies yada yada in that order.

The pads play one small part in ensuring you dont run out of braking power, have you ridden that descent before and if so is this the first time you’ve ran out of braking power on it or has it happened every time? That’s important.

Downhill and XC – Red Bull Player. EWS is different as it’s not managed by Red Bull and isnt broadcast live. Usually a half hour highlights video is broadcast after the event I believe on YouTube but could be wrong.

I dont think there are any races for months now though!

I believe the point of the lockdown was to slow the spread and “save the NHS” now this has happened theres not much point keeping us on house arrest (legally questionable anyway but we have complied out of a sense of civic duty).

This was never about eliminating the virus, quite the opposite in fact as the tactic from the beginning was correctly herd immunity. So long as we can keep the reproductive rate at 1 or less, we are good. People are dying from cancer and other cancelled surgeries and we have to understand that cannot continue indefinitely.

@submarined of course you can over fill them – just bleed them with the piston partially out so when you try to push them back in it fills the lever and has no spare space to move into.

To OP, get the brake cleaner flushed out and start the bleed from scratch following a proper instructional video or take it to a shop to get done. When you say crap came out what do you mean

Dont take this the wrong way, but is your wife financially savvy or not? Some people just aren’t. If it were me I’d either sit her down and show her the in/out and why ends aren’t being met, and if she doesnt understand that then I’d be frank and ignore her input on the matter. It does sound like you are taking her requests to spend more money and going along with it without believing it’s a good idea which is sure to end in resentment.

The DNOs are private companies so everything is chargeable unfortunately.

We once got quoted 28k for a new phone line from BT to take it one mile up a cliff, needless to say we ran that site off mobile phones…
