Still got my stickers in the cupboard, not sure what the crests are like for stans logos but the flows would look gash with hope wheel stickers also! Plus black bike, black wheels don’t cheapen it! 😉

I had an operation on my knee in December, I was on crutches for 7 weeks but after 9 weeks I was back on a static bike, 12 weeks on and I was out riding. my knee feels great now and I’m managing at least 2 rides a week.

Best advice I can give is to get to the physio as soon as possible, do as you’re told!

I had torn meniscus and a part of the cartilage had detached from the bone so it was painful to walk on, basically they went in keyhole, tidied up the cartilage and where the cartilage had detached they cut it away from the bone and drilled the bone in 8 places to make it bleed and scab over inside the joint! that’s why I wasn’t allowed to weight bare for so long.

It did my head in not being able to ride but now I’m loving it, it’s still painful to walk but riding isn’t a problem, tbh I hate walking anyway so I’m not that bothered!

    Good luck with the recovery!

I had an Arthroscopy and a lovely microfracture where they drilled the bone in 8 places to make it bleed and grow new cartilage in december. By the end of February I was back on a bike, the delay was due to the microfracture, it feels much better on the bike than it does walking. If it’s just an arthroscopy which I had 5 years back I was walking the same day and biking 4 weeks later!

NHS are a nightmare, I was fortunate enough to have Bupa through work, so much quicker.

Hope it feels better soon, certainly sucks not being able to bike!

I’m at this stage as well and have bought the following for my trip in July to Morzine:

    Dropper post
    Full face
    Bigger Camelback
    ZTR Flows
New Brakes and some more pads
New bike for the wife (delivery imminent)

    Still to do:
    Decent full service
Switch to a double chain set and guide
    Potentially bigger rotors, currently 180/160
    Shorter stem

    I’ve spent a small fortune!

Love my Teva Links comfy as a pair of normal trainers and don’t look like “special shoes”, grippy but with the ability to change feet position!

Gisburn is a great all rounder, yes there may not be as many decants as some would like but at the end of the day you need more hills to get the descents! I went up on Sunday and IMO it was the best ride I’ve had there, the trails were nice and dry and in excellent condition, the lads that do the maintenance are top drawer.

Loving my xfusion Hilo, only had it a couple of weeks. It’s amazing what a difference it makes to your riding and the convenience is second to none.

I made todays ride at Gisburn a lot more enjoyable, currently running a lever but got a conversion kit for the remote!

Take off the mech hanger ad drop out, clean them and the recess on the frame, bit of grease to the recess on the frame then re fit drop out and hanger.

I hope you get it sorted, nothing more annoying!

I’m currently having arguments with my brakes and squeaking , not when applying the brakes but on rotation!

Cheers guys, think I’ll give either of those a try, £80 for the pair is decent.

I find the best option is something like a maxxis EXO. Its around 850g and has a thicker sidewall (more like 1.5ply)so it supports being run tubeless better. I still run lighter tyres, but you gotta keep the pressures up (25-30psi) to stop them squirming too much.

I run Highrollers 2.35 like this, think I’ll give them a try!

Radness? I basically ride natural stuff in the pennines and peak district and throw in the odd trail centre….

Cheers honourablegeorge – just watched the video, you’ve just saved me £35… 😀

Hope hoops with Stans flow rims for me, had them 2 weeks and love them, know a few people that run them when they go to Morzine, so definitely a good solid option….

What about Leisure Lakes at Preston? Not been to that one but the one is Bury seems ok.

Don’t discount the Teva links, they look great IMO, nice and grippy (I’ve heard 5 10 are stickier) but able to adjust feet easily, most importantly; they are really comfy, to the point that I don’t want to take mine off! 😀

Fenred – are the tyres you’re using tubeless specific?

I’ve just got hoops with stans flow rims, considering going tubeless but not sure whether to try with a normal tyre first!

What about a Seat Leon FR or Cupra, they really are a great car and you get so much value for the money, they also drive fantastically, handle well and quiiiick. Our old one was almost as fun as the wifes TT! 😀

Love my Teva Links, no problem with the grip IMO, nice an light, comfy and look decent, always thought Five Tens looked like “special shoes”, not had a pair so can’t compare the two!

    They need to be:
    Grippy
    Indestructible
    Large platform
    Easily servicable
    Anyone had superstar nano?

I hope they last over a year! TBH they are the first pair of specific flat bike shoes I’ve bought. I normally go with a DC type shoe that I’ve relegated from wearing out to a bike shoe!

Screw them, more than likely jealousy, I had a great ride at Gisburn today and the two chaps I saw had anise polite chat. No need to be like that we all clearly have a common interest! TBH I think most of us like to have a nice clean bike, functions better and the components last longer!

Just ordered a set of flows, off the back of others advice, hopefully they will be here on Thursday, get them switched over and out on them Friday, 😀

I posted a similar topic and the conscious was Stans Flows with a Hope Pro II Evo hub, I ordered them today and they should be in for Thursday, if you don’t need pretty coloured hubs then you can save around £60 and get a factory set, still made by Hope! Save the £60 and buy some new skewers for about £30!

Local shop is sound smiff, never had any issues, he’s really reasonable for maintenance, I was surprised he price matched but happy all the same! Excited!

Just ordered my set of flows on Pro2 eve from my LBS, price matched the online stores, would rather buy off him than online, I figure it’s great to have a decent mechanic up the road! Flows maybe slightly overkill but I’m not bothered about weight, if I was I’d be 10 stone and not 13! Looking forward to them, just need to decide what tubeless tyres to go with, currently on High rollers with tubes.

Looks like I’m going to go for a set of flows, unless someone convinces me otherwise!?!

My wife thinks I’m a complete geek on the forums but what’s the point in buying something without getting other peoples opinions! 😉

This is the problem, I’m not a downhill rider but I don’t want something too lightweight. Basically I am sick of having to have wheels trued! Also considering tubeless setup, do you guys run tubeless wheels and tubeless tyres or wang it with a tubeless kit?
