Aha! That’s better. Sorry about the double posting, I keep forgetting to click ” text ” on my posting window. If there’s any moderators watching can you wipe the other ” October posting ” please. Right, it’s my days off, I feel like hammered sh1t with this throat infection and I’ve a club ride on Sunday I may have to cancel because the forecasts are pish. I’m off back to bed.

Hang on, let me try something….

The Bristol Bike Jumble is on again on Saturday SEPTEMBER 7TH midday at BW Cycling.
MANY MANY thanks to Bw Cycling for allowing this event to be hosted in their lovely car park ( shade in summer, rain cover in winter!! )
    Brunel Lock
    Smeaton Road
    Bristol, BS1 6SE
THERE IS NO PARKING AT BW CYCLING but you can offload: your gear will be looked after while you find a parking spot.
Setting up a seller’s pitch is free! You’ll need your own table ( or a blanket, whatever )
YOU WON’T BE BOTHERED WHILE SETTING UP YOUR STALL: tell me when you’re ready and then I’ll let everyone swoop in.
There’s a few things you can do to help continue the goodwill we have with BW Cycling
PLEASE SEE ME to get a seller’s spot and don’t just pitch up in the middle of BW Cycling’s customer car park-that really would not be nice.
    NO SETTING UP BEFORE 11:45
Please try and bring a float ( about £50 in smaller notes and pound coins will do fine )
I’m Mark Barnett and my number is 07971667824 if you need to contact me and sort out details.

The Jumble is this saturday but I’m having severe problems trying to post on this website nowadays; especially links to show how to get there and parking.

Anyway, moan aside, the September Bristol Bike Jumble is this Saturday, midday, outside BW Cycling in the Cumberland Basin in BRISTOL. There’s more details on Facebook or Retrobike.

On a personal note, if anyone’s got a ONE INCH headset please bring it. I love old road bikes but finding one inch headsets ( that don’t cost a kidney or aren’t made by dodgey engineering firms on the other side of the planet ) is getting tougher.

    Hello mate,
I’m huge and now ( unfortunately ) old ( 58 ). You haven’t mentioned if you’ve a bike already which is my first piece of advice…get any old non-e bike first. Ride it until you know your limitations and then, after about 6-12 months plan a purchase of an E Bike…IF YOU STILL FEEL YOU NEED ONE. Second piece of advice is learn the new language of e bikes and, more specifically, get an ” E Assist ” bike. avoid chinese bikes and batteries; Google ( in the proper news and not the social media horsesh1t ) all the horror stories of pish-poor builds or torrential fires caused when recharging. If you go straight to full-fat total power e bikes your fat arse is never getting back on a normal one and your fitness will be eaten away in the process; slowly and irrevocably. Lastly find an e bike specialist MECHANIC ( not just a sales room that sells lots of e bikes ) and stick with them and pay the money they ask. They are very worth it. My local e bike and regular bike specialist is Holyspokes in Bristol; a top notch outfit with fair prices.
    Good luck mate

    Mark
