    Slagging trail centres – check

Only in jest. I love them really!

I find the Unduro blog http://unduro.co.uk/ by a fellow forumite just about the right length, long enough to be interesting, short enough to stay interesting.

    Cool, I’ll check it out.

Trail centres are built by the golf industry to gradually turn mountain bikers to the rightful British and expensive weekend past time of golf.

They are quite short to be honest. I’m still finding it difficult to get to grips with set structure/style of writing. Constructive criticism welcome.

I only use the term trail head so people don’t get the location confused with the trail arse. Common sense innit.

Thanks for the feedback. I’ve emitted more word pollution on last weekends ride at Cannock Chase. Link below…

Tour Divide is top of my list. Maybe some backcountry trail riding in Japan too.

This happened to me. I didn’t get anywhere with warranty but the friendly people at Silverfish gave an old rear end for free! Worth asking if they have any old bits lying around.

Get in touch with Telski Trailblazers on Facebook and I’m sure they’ll show around the good bits in Clumber. It’s nothing life changing but there are some fun bits.

thesisnotaspoon – Completely agree. I guess you can’t leave any stone unturned. A full strip down and rebuild is in order before the next ride!

Philjunior – It’s made me realise that if you’re gonna do multi day rides you need to add in availability of spares as a factor when buying new parts. If I had hope hubs it would have been a quick fix apparently.

Cheers mindmap3. Give it a go. If nothing else it just makes you reflect on and appreciate your rides a little more.

XT get my vote. Even Deore are cracking brakes if you’ve got shallower pockets.

The pump looks very neat. The Velominati would approve.

One of my new year’s resolution was to take more pictures out on rides. That way I can send them through to my grandad who always gets on at me for not telling him where I’ve been on the bike. Thought I might as well write an accompanying blog/collection of words to tell the story of the ride in further clog up the internet sink hole.

Pics and words on the blog if you want to check it out! https://tinapedalturner.wordpress.com

Some of the Decathlon hiking outer shell jackets are really good. I paid £80 for mine and its spot on.

Great responses, thanks. So far, I’ve found it interesting how I’ve had to shift my weekly priorities away from the usual ‘normal work week’ followed by a couple of days of hobbies etc. I’ve now got to carefully consider how I’m gonna make the most of my time each week and really think about what I want out of life. When people ask ‘so what do you do?’ I need to have a have a good justification otherwise I think people see only working 3 days as slacking.

The Stevie Wonder song is actually about his love of reduced work hours. Full time funk is hard.

Sounds good irc – I’m trying not to bike all time so hill walking might be an idea.

I’m in for round 1 only this time. Hoping to do a few of the borderline Welsh Enduro’s too.

But theres plenty of good value waterproofs, shells, bottoms, etc perfect for cycling/mtb with loads of accessories – so if you don’t like it – don’t but it.
If you do – then knock yourself out.

As long as you get ‘loads of accessories’ that’s all that matters.

Hope the fella who’d crashed at top of s3 was ok.

That guy was my dad. I couldn’t believe what he did when he told me.He was fine, just a bit battered and bruised!

It would be amazing if anybody managed to get any photos or videos?

Anyone got any experience of riding in Tenerife or similar? Might be able to stretch the budget a little for somewhere more exotic.

Thanks for the suggestions. North Wales trail centre trek is looking pretty popular!

Chakaping – Tweed valley sounds good too. Only ever done glentress and inners trail centre so would be good to do some natural stuff.

Jekkyl – North Wales is a good shout. Anyone with more exotic suggestions?
