We have big fat black orb type spiders in our garden. I got bitten by one of them while clearing the garden this summer. Hand was sore for a week but was no worse than I get from wasps and bees. Went a little black and unpleasant looking though.

So if Helmets don't reduce head injuries whats the point in anyone wearing them? F1 drivers, Motorcyclists, Millitary pilots list could go on….

Concussion is a sign of rotational injury ( but not conclusive) Weight worsens whiplash type neck injuries.

I'd rather have a bit of whiplash than a big crack in my skull and my brains leaking out all over the place.

Nope – although some insurers may try to apply this rule it would be difficult to uphold as how can you (as a private individual) make sure the car is already insured?

If stopped by the police (or in an accident) they will check that the car's owner has valid insurance, they have given consent for the third party to drive and that the driver has a valid insurance policy. Oh and for DOC for most companies you need to be over 25 and not in a motor industry job role. So no manufacturers, sales staff…….

helps to work for an insurance company ;)

The car for sale is actually in my father's name, if that makes a difference.

The car can be added to a policy even in your fathers name. You don't have as much "insurable interest" but you still have some. So you'll be paying less than if you insured a strangers car (which you can do)

Can't you drive it with third party cover from the insurance you have on the other car?

Car has to be insured already to do DOC. His cheapest option is to add a temporary vehicle to current policy. Rather than a whole new temporary insurance cover.

try the current company with a temporary vehicle

Nope the current certificate is valid so the car has an MOT even if it's failed for a new MOT. So the car is legal as far as MOT is concerned and so inssurance is valid. The bit from directgov website says

It is generally an offence to use on a public road, a vehicle of testable age that doesn’t have a current test certificate, except when:

Don't they have a law in the US similar to the inciting racial hatred that we have?

EDIT: But then again reporting on that could be seen as inciting racial hatred on behalf of the Beeb?

    From http://www.patient.co.uk/health/Olecranon-Bursitis.htm

What is the treatment for olecranon bursitis?
•No treatment may be needed. A small painless thickening or swelling is common. It often clears by itself. If a small amount of fluid remains once the inflammation has gone then this can be left alone. However, a large collection of fluid may be unsightly.
•RICE treatment. You may find the swelling improves with (R)est, (I)ce packs, (C)ompression (wearing a bandage) and (E)levation (keeping the elbow in a raised position).
•Anti-inflammatory medication (such as ibuprofen, naproxen, diclofenac, etc) may be prescribed to reduce inflammation and swelling.
•Ultrasound and electrical treatment have helped some people.
•A steroid injection into the bursa may cure the problem. Steroids are good at reducing inflammation.
•Aspiration (draining the fluid) can be done with a needle and syringe if a lot of fluid builds up. However, the fluid tends to build up again after being drained. Therefore, you may be advised to wear a tight pressure bandage for a while after the fluid is drained to prevent it building up again.
•Surgery to remove the bursa is an option if the above do not work.
•Antibiotics are needed if the cause of the bursitis is an infection.

leaning on elbows etc and it is a real PITA

    Don't you mean PITE?

Sorry not helpful I'll get my coat.

Scott Mills annoys me with his use of the word "actual" in stupid places. Like when he met "Actual David Acutual Hasselhoff" go f*ck yourself Mills. Learn to actually speak actually correctly.

But there was rumours of a Thundercats film being made.

Got me thinking who would you have as the cast?

The discussion I had with my mates was

Panthro – Vin Diesel or Michael Clarke Duncan but Rampage Jackson after the A-team would be good too

Lion-o – Hayden Christensen. We did think about Hugh Jackman but he may look too old

Tygra – This would be a better part for Jackman or Ewan Mcgregor

Snarf – Danny Devito or the guy from Lethal weapon and Home alone

Cheetara – We couldn't agree on someone for this and the same for wylekit and kat

Football mate. Not rugby. Football. Proper football. The game where you actually use your feet, not picking up the egg-shaped thing and gouging each others eyes out and faking injuries with hidden razorblades. The game that fat bloaters can't play because they only have the turning circle of an oil tanker, and the reactions of a glacier.

Watch it, you may learn something.

You mean that game where all the girly nancy boys prance about like 22 poofs who can't get in any contact with each other for fear of stubbing a toe. But when someone wafts a foot within 12inches of them they lie down on the floor crying like the little whiney b*tches they are?

The registered owner does make a difference. I could insure your car but I'd get charged more as I have less insurable interest in it with it not being my car. But Geoff is right the person who uses the car the most needs to have the insurance in their name too.

BUT where a young driver is on the policy it should always be done in the young drivers name as it will be classed as fronted otherwise and will invalidate your policy and could be classed as obtaining money by deception in the event of a claim.

Have they done Kit driving into the lorry yet?

I once asked my dad about this. If the truck is traveling at 35 and you approached at 45 aslong as you depressed the clutch pedal right (which Michael couldn't have done in Kitt cos it was an Auto) you'd be traveling at 10mph up the ramp. If you watch the series they don't go straight up the ramp. They hold it with the back wheels on the road for a bit to get the car at the same speed as the truck.

Red Bull team boss Christian Horner has suggested that McLaren driver Jenson Button's driving style contributed to his crash with Sebastian Vettel at Spa. "Jenson, braking where he did, just took him completely by surprise," said Horner.

Jenson braking where he did? In the braking zone? Never? Surely it's a disqualifiable offence for braking in the braking zone!!!

because Hill had left for Arrows (Why did he ever do that?).

That will be because Frank Williams sacked him and Arrows was the best seat offered. I seem to remember that the lowly Arrows car was taken very close to a race win in Hungary. Only missed out due to electrical fault. Still finished 2nd to JV in the Williams.
So did Hill not have any talent? Haven't seen MSC do that in the Mercedes after all the "talent" he had with Benneton and Ferrari.
