Just one question do the public library audio book apps work on readers? (As I type that I can’t see how they would but I’ll chuck the question out there anyway!)

I haven’t lost the plot wrote the long message and that seemed to freeze so I gave up and wrote a short one . . . As if by magic the other one sent.

Ha ha – luckily I already have a wardrobe full of those Cletus 🙂

We have a kobo in the house somewhere – that will be full of kids books but I shall sort that out.I perhaps should have thought of that before because my neck and arms already make reading in bed a struggle.

Not sure I come under the category of near death experiences – but finding out how close I’ve come to tetraplegia has certainly been a sobering experience. Currently feel as though I’m at some potential turning point in my life . . . So time to think and plan what I’m going to do next would definitely be good.

I didn’t know the libraries did them – I shall look into that, thank you.

Podcasts also a good idea – although I’m not sure about the Dan carlin stuff.

In contemplating these answers I realise I more of a fan of documentaries and tales of travel and adventure. I’m sure I did like fiction and sci-fi when I was younger but seem to have lost that along the way

I’d love it if I could sit knitting but not sure it will be doable (I used to work free lance as a pattern checker – so if anyone has any knitting problems im always happy to help 🙂 )

Spinal fusion here too but in my neck. I already have myelopathy and they say my arms and hands may be worse initially so I’m trying to think of stuff to do that I can do with my clumsy hands

As Flatfish says no medical certificate required. Pretty sure none of us from the Bearbones crowd got one . . . Obviously we weren’t questioned on this as we’re all such fine physical specimens 😆

Castrol R in a slightly different context to the above, at Old Warden watching and smelling the rotary engined aeroplanes as a 10 year old.

Old Warden still smells like that to me at times – because my brother lives there with a rather large collection of vws and assorted other motorbikes . . . I’m not sure everyone else in the village appreciates his collection!

I was having this very conversation about memories and smells with no3 child the other day. I’d picked him up from school and as he sat down – I asked him why he’d only just eaten his lunch.

He looked at me a little surprised – I said you’ve only just eaten a peanut butter sandwich. I had to explain my odd reaction to him

They develop a funny smell when they’ve been in a lunch box. And it’s a smell that makes me upset so quickly – it’s bizarre.

The smell takes me right back to being very small when my mum left and I was sent to a preschool (that I was too small for), I can remember not speaking to anyone being quite confused and more than anything the smell of peanut butter sandwiches in my lunch box every day.

My kids rarely have peanut butter especially in their lunchboxes – so I haven’t smelt that smell for a while. Shocked me how it still all came flooding back

Ha ha – I got excited then thinking it would be so thing to add a bit of motivation to me . . . But I don’t think it will as I’m restricted to riding my turbo in my kitchen!

Can’t wait to get out on a proper bike and try it 🙂

A friend of mine was killed in similar circumstances when he had a scuffle with his brother over doing the washing up.

His brother was arrested and taken to the police headquarters miles away – the following day his family had to plead to get his brother out of custody so he could say goodbye before they turned his life support machine off.

I can see what people are saying but his brother has effectively got a life sentence hanging over him as he will never get over what he’s done. I’m sure the guys best friend in the above case will be the same.I’m not sure what purpose a prison sentence will actually serve.

No still have doors and windows o0en most of the day, one of my children complained it was like being in a tent in winter when he got back from school.

Made me proud that he knows what that feels like 😆

That brings up all sorts of ‘look at me and my really big mug’ comedy type slogan stuff and various fractions of pints too.

I shall keep looking – seems like the Disney shop or similar is the place to go . . But I hate Disney

I’d be happy with any where 400 – 500, just that most of mine are towards the top end of that range . . Much bigger than a 32a!

A lot of the Amazon ones are travel cups etc.

Yes favourite cups have won over conformity for many years – I think the oldest one I have is about 26 years old.

But they are all all a bit worse for wear so thought it would be nice to just replace en mass with a suitable type of mug.

Not a snob but I would prefer 8 coloured mugs – rather than printed ones. I do prefer stoneware – as they seem to survive better than China ones.

Ha ha – a cheap trick to get some attention on here . . . But it works 🙂

Yes I have a couple of Denby ones – the rest of my crockery is Denby but a discontinued one. I don’t think they ever did big mugs in the same pattern (luxor).

I had some great mugs from ashdale in the early 90s (still have 3 of them left) perfec but unfortunately no longer available.

But yes MCPH – I agree there are limited uses of the reaper peppers. I love chilli but I enjoy the flavour of scotch bonnet etc – the reaper ones are just heat

I rode it last year solo, it was brilliant.

I worried I’d struggle over a weekend so drove up on Friday to Hexham after work, rode until it got dark stopping just before Bellingham.

The following day it was blowing an absolute gale, I got to St cuthberts cave and stayed there as I felt it would be more sheltered than being nearer the coast. It meant I stopped earlier than I would have done.
Had a fun night biviing in the cave, the ride in the morning to Berwick was ace. Got there for lunch then got the train back to Hexham then drove back to Sheffield

Was quicker than I thought it would be 🙂

I really do appreciate how lucky I am to have an opportunity to fix it, rather than finding myself tetraplegic following a fall or accident.
