Have been quite intrigued by this thread – surely a community has it’s entrepreneurs – and i’m sure an online community is no different.

Times are hard for all so you can’t blame someone for trying – what was more interesting was trying to look back in the history to see what peoples issues were with him

johnmiles – you’ve only been a member for 3 months but seem to have a big issue as nearly all your posts are directed at headsup, surely there’s a word for that – trolling

in this day an age of cyber bully’s etc i think people should be a bit careful

I weirdly joined this forum as my passion is cycling – i’ve rarely commented as so many seem to have the passion only for mud slinging.

Had seen the Deuter ones, but a little too short. Will look for a short adult one i think, guess most mothers don’t drag their kids around wild camping in April – but i’m sure i’m not the only one.

Cool, i had seen some pictures of the costal walking path that definitely looked hairy. just wondered of there were other options for riding. i am presuming the roads aren’t too busy – will be aiming to come over in April.

i have recently been given a garmin etrex (i think!), so some points would be good to play with.

I thought it was a long known fact that nitrates in bacon were carcinogenic – but this was ok because they were considered less of a risk to health than eating uncured bacon and getting liver flukes

So they obviously work – we don’t have liver flukes, and to see which is tastier compare images of carcinogenic bacon butty and liver flukes. i know which i’d prefer!

i do make sure i am warm – just have poor circulation in my fingers and toes – not pleasant to be hot with freezing fingertips, it is something that has always troubled me and each year when it comes to winter i am always on the lookout for better gloves.

more so this year because of this event in january

they do look like the way forward – when it’s really cold i resort to my seal skin winter gloves with liners but my fingers still get cold when i ride to work – and this is going to be two days of riding, so i am a bit worried.

how long do one set of batteries keep the gloves warm for?

riding style – pass but someone described me as aggressive! made me laugh!
typical terrain – al sorts do commute on my bike, a few hours on singletrack when possible but longer trails and wild camping are my choice.
    fitness – fairly
    flexibility – very
i’d happily ride all day too, and i guess thats where the curiosity comes into the ‘ideal’ geometry, nothing can take away all the pain of a day in the saddle – but I just want it minimised!

As for who reliably informed me – he is right, as the ways in which it doesn’t fit are obvious

I really fancy a 29er for my next bike, but just want to know it’s in the right kind of proportion for me I guess. May see if i can find a local place that offers a good fitting service – and hopefully can sell me the bike I want to ofset it against.

I am loath to sit on a woman specific bike and find out it fits better – as I couldn’t stomach the ‘girly’ paint jobs they chuck on them.

TooTall – I would love to have the time to try all the bikes I fancy – and to actually find the right sizes to demo. The other point was that although both bikes didn’t ‘fit’ they are both ok to ride, I guess I just wanted a bit more of the science behind it.
Thanks for that will have a look

Are the new ones actually out yet? Had a quick play on a scandal which was fun (although i’m told to big for me) but would be good to see and play with the in-bred 29er. Was hoping they were going to be available earlier but hopefully they will be soon….
