To be quite frank i couldn’t care who the original thief was it was my bike and I was taking it back. If I was in the same position now I would do exactly the same. Its very unusual to see the bike again so I wasn’t going to miss my chance.

Well im not some big testosterone fueled hero but when I saw a scrote sat on my bike I ran up behind him and grabbed the seat post stays really hard and he jumped off. He was bigger than me and less than half my age – but I figure I was angry enough to try. Glad I did I got my bike back and amazed the police

Doubt he relished me in full on screaming banshee mode – he really didnt put up much of a struggle and startes trying to say hed bought it off someone etc

At least you know what area hes in – tell the police

I have had ‘arrangements’ like that when it has suited me, usually when i haven’t got the time or when i am feeling particuarly commitment adverse. Can’t see the problem with it tbh if it works why knock it . . . oh i forgot where i was for a minute, I will sit back and see the non offensive carefully considered opinions come in 🙂

Maybe there is a difference between people who go on rides primarily to trail centres and actual cyclist who use their bikes as transport.

I am definitely in the later category and even though I can drive and ride a motorbike I much prefer to do as many journeys on my bike. So of course there was an urgency to get my babies on my bike.

I wouldn’t take a baby on an off road ride if it were really bumpy, that would be stupid. And i think i did ok as none of my four have any problems or signs of shaken baby syndrome.

Funny how I havent got shot down in flames for saying I went over the handlebars when I was 8 months pregnant!

Luckily most parents are good at assessing their own childrens abilities and take the appropriate precautions  to keep them safe.

Ive had mine in babyseats and trailers before they were one, and they were all fine.

But maybe im reckless – I did actually go over the handlebars when I was 8 months pregnant with my second. Thankfully he was fine and walking around 10 months so i really had no problem with him being in a seat on my bike.

He is now 20 and seems fine, and he actually thinks its cool that he had his first bike accident before he was born – definitely an experience I wouldnt recomend though!

Why would you? Each to their own, I wouldn’t have a tattoo but can appreciate they look nice when done well – but does that look nice on any level?

I was gutted when my daughter had her back tattooed – but seeing that has made me appreciate my daughter’s tattoo a bit more.

Ha ha, it is flattering – but I have aged somewhat since then, could see myself facing some kind of trade description act case 🙂

It is good to reminisce and realise how long ago the 80’s and 90’s were. And i also find myself trying to date the others I’m guessing bruneep’s pic is early 80’s . . .

I wouldnt use anything but a trailer and worth the expense now as you will get years of use out of it.

Girly conversations at work as they usually centre around diet, crap telly and shopping

They dont like my lifestyle suggestion of ‘buy a bike ignore the tv and ride it’ – seems too much like hard work when you could be stuffing you face on the sofa I imagine

Thats what I normally do, but for some reason when I got of the ferry in france and pressed record it didnt record properly. Tried again and it still didn’t, then I turned the data on briefly and it started working. Like I said it may just be my phone – but worth being aware of. I guess many settings may be affected when roaming

I rode to paris the other day and it didn’t record properly on my phone until id turned my data on. It only seemed to need to be switched on and off and then it started tracking – may just be the android app on my galaxy – I was a bit miffed though as I didnt get the first bit of our ride

So I would just say double check it is actually recording miles – save you doing 90 mins and not going likeni did 🙁

Same thing happened to me just before the Welsh ride thing – completely cocked up my weekend, spent it fitting bigger locks and alarms instead of riding.

Made me feel rubbish even though they didnt get anything, dont usually feel vulnerable andnit really isn’t nice

There aren’t endless pots of cash to fight every age old legal case – that may sound harsh but we have vital services here and now that are desperate for funding to be effective to protect truly vulnerable groups of people.

Mine starting doing something similar – heard the boiler kicking in when it wouldn’t normally. when the boiler was serviced the plumber asked if i needed too be heating the water all the time…

Turns out my son had set the temperature to max and in doing so it also sets the boiler to keep it warm.

I am no plumber – but it sounds similar 🙂
